Medbery Inn & Day Spa

I had an amazing massage here with Carolyn a couple weeks ago. I'm always nervous when I get a massage at a new place because often times they just suck! I was very specific about the type of massage I wanted and she nailed it. Truly amazing!

One of the best spa experiences I have ever had. The deep tissue massage was everything you could ever hope for and the staff are wonderful, warm, and clearly experts in what they do.

My massage was good, even though I booked a 1 hr massage and it ended 5 minutes early. My main issue is their lack of COVID protocols. I understand a spa involves close contact, so I expect with Covid that there be some sort of clarification on the mask or be vaccinated mandate in NYS. I walked in and no one was wearing a mask, but I was not asked to provide vaccination proof, as is the current mandate in New York.

My masseuse had a mask down around her neck, that I think she put up at some point after we met, but I'm not sure she wore it during the appointment, which made it even more confusing. I masked the entire time, but I was extremely uncomfortable for the experience, and I won't be returning.

A favorite in this adorable little town. The baths are relaxing and lovely, the service is kind and helpful. And each bath comes with a glass of wine and a little chocolate. A perfect (and affordable) girl's day.

This review is for the Inn only, the Spa and Restaurant are very much separate entities. I was a long term guest of the Inn/Hotel for over a year, so I think the following critique is very much deserved. The Inn/Hotel room's appointments are shoddy: linens, furniture, fixtures, etc., are shabby, stained, past expiration date, and the walls of the rooms are paper thin.

You can literally hear your neighbor pass gas, let alone the usual sounds of conversation, TVs, snoring, etc. Also, Management exercises truly questionable Business Practices. There are tenants, on a separate floor of the Hotel from the guests, that Management utilizes as auxilliary employees as well as a long term guest, who is also a Management family relation or friend, used in that same manner - this in addition to a designated Hotel Housekeeper.

If you are a heavy sleeper and of a strong character that can disregard gossip, as well as incessant nosiness even to the point of obstructive snooping, and are also of limited budget, then this Inn will be well suited enough. The outside of the Inn is very historically charming, and it is the location of the Inn - Ballston Spa itself - that makes this review more than 1 star.

The Inn is located within a 3 block radius of no less than 40 cafes, boutiques, restaurants, antique shops, etc. If it wasn't for its location, I would give the Inn/Hotel 1 star.

The Medberry Day Spa is worth visiting. Paula and Carolyn are such amazing hosts, they catered to our needs and made our visit a memorable one. They both provided excellent service and we are definitely coming back to visit them again. Thank you Paula and Carolyn and hope to see you soon.

Took my mom and daughter for a relaxing day! We are so happy to find this awesome spa! It was perfect! Everyone was super friendly and the services were fabulous! We definitely will be back for another visit in the near future!

I have been to The Medbery Spa several times. Each time the spa services I received were absolutely amazing. I like to go for the full package which includes a mineral bath, facial, body scrub and massage. The staff is professional and experienced and easy to book appointments with. The day is truly a treat to myself and the experience at the Medbery is stellar.

Great couples getaway. clean everything. Above a restaurant and the day spa, which connected all three. Excellent, friendly, and thorough staff. Quaint town. Pampering from the spa folks. Definitely doing it again.
