I went to see Joy at Harmonies for my first haircut in two years and wow it was such a lovely experience! She is not only super personable and welcoming, but she did a superb job on my long, fine hair. I showed her a picture and she made it happen and also would describe what she was doing as she went. I really appreciated that. I felt heard and respected which now looking back, I realize that not all stylists treat clients that way! Anyhow, highly recommend!

I can't wait to go back! P.S. I had my two year old son with me and she was super patient and kind about it, which I also really appreciated because. mama needed a haircut bad lol. Go see Joy!

Very cool historic building and wonderful haircut for a reasonable rate. She got me in the next day and gave me my first haircut in 2 years (male, long hair) and it turned out great!

Had a fantastic experience visiting Joy at Harmonies this morning! My COVID hair experiments resulted in some really bad damage to my hair, and it had been over six months since I'd had a good haircut. Joy asked all the right questions, understood what I was looking for, and ultimately did an extraordinary job -- giving me a haircut that suits my lifestyle, my tastes, and my poor, poor hair. Thank you, Joy!

I went to Harmonies salon specifically because they offered outside haircuts. I was very impressed by their dedication to safety. Joy did a great job cutting my hair and was so professional and courteous. It was a big treat for me to finally get my hair cut, and will definitely be a returning customer.

I Love Harmonies Salon. I went through 6 hairdressers before I found Joy. She is the absolute best. I will never find another hairdresser like her. I wish I could give her 10 stars. She knows how to cut hair well! With the new Covid rules she is very respectful and she is doing it for our own safety. We are moving soon and I will miss her so much!

So happy that Joy has been able to open her salon again. My hair was turning grey and my eyebrows looked like caterpillars. I just read the review from someone saying that you have to have a medical exam before entering the salon. That is completely untrue. I was told on the phone when I made the appointment that I would be asked a few screening questions and have my temperature taken before entering the salon.

When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted warmly by Doreen (as usual) and I think I was asked if I had a fever or cough recently, if I had been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 and if I had been out of the country. In no way is that considered as a medical exam. Give me a break. I also had a temperature thing pointed at my forehead and then I was invited in, business as usual (well except for face masks lol).

I am so grateful the salon has safety measures in place during this national crisis. I needed my hair done and honestly, I would not go to a salon that was not practicing recommendations to keep this virus from spreading! Thank you Joy and Doreen for putting your health at risk so that we can feel beautiful! And thank you for keeping us safe during this national crisis.

Had a great experience, got fabulous looking hair & I highly recommend. Because of the pandemic, it had been almost 4 months since I was able to visit. I admit I was a little apprehensive going and really appreciated the precautions they took because of COVID-19. Joy is a magician with color & I couldn't be happier with my new look.

My wife and I went for hair cuts today and we were so excited after waiting for several months. Both of us had on our masks and met the staff in the parking lot as directed. They demanded we submit to a medical exam by their "office person" and she claimed it was required by the Board of Cosmetology. Turns out this salon has not read the rules and we are correct.

You can ask questions but a medical exam and temperature check is *not* mandatory. The real problem is that one of the staff screamed at us (not joking) and she was insulting and very rude. Sad when people like this yell as if that will help and indicate they are right. We have asked the company to review their personal polices but so far no apology for their bad behavior. I suggest people find another salon.

I have been going to Harmonies for 30 years. Great place. Great people. Great cuts. Ask for Joy! She is great!

My hair was done here by the hairdresser. She's amazing! Such a positive spirit, great attention to detail, very accommodating. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family.

Joy is fantastic. She cut my boyfriend's hair and waxed my brows and both look great. She's a wonderful person to talk to and she's excellent at what she does. The building is adorable too - love the beach colors and decor. Definitely coming back here!

I absolutely love this place. If you want to support local, here is your chance. I just got my second facial and cannot be anymore pleased with the results and service. I literally fell asleep in our session because the environment is so calm and soothing. Pat has angel hands, she is delicate and does an amazing job. I highly recommend going to this place to get a facial. It's well worth it. And again you stay local and support local.

Joy at Harmonies Salon is the BEST! She has cut my hair for years and now doing my creative colors, as in purple, pink, and turquoise with my high lighted hair over the colors for a magical surprise! When I visit the BayArea from Southern California I always make an appointment with Joy for my Tinsels! Going to the Salon is like having Girl's Date with your Best Friends. Joy is the absolute best! Took my teen daughter in to fix her bleached-out-and-faded-pink messy hair at the end of summer and she emerged with a cut, style and color that's been perfect for prep-school interviews all fall. Joy is a great listener, an expert stylist, and genuinely cares about each and every customer. Plus, her salon is adorable! Ample parking and close to all kinds of cute shops and restaurants.
