One of the longtime employees, Terttu, inherited the business and building after 35 years. When she too became ill, we (Hal and Beverly May) took over in 1999. Not only have several of the massage therapists stayed, but many of our clients have been regulars for 30 years and more, with their younger generations following.
At Redwood Massage & Sauna, we believe that caring for others is the greatest gift we can offer. If you are looking for a serious massage based on your goals, whether it be to relax, address pain and injuries, enhance health and athletic ability, support pregnancy, or to achieve any of the other benefits of massage, this is the place to be.
We are a dedicated massage and sauna facility and our focus is Health and Fitness via Therapeutic Massage. If you think of massage as pampering and like the spa type of environment you may not like the simplicity of our office. 2. We are proud to be small and locally owned. We actively support Redwood City businesses and local schools and non-profits.
Whether young or old, most of us are aware of toll taken on our health and well being by stress of everyday living. We begin to realize that illness and pain seem to be associated with lack of self-awareness and neglect of our emotional, physical and spiritual needs. There remains within us all a need to balance our knowledge and success with and the world in which we live.

I had my first appointment with Ann at Redwood Massage today and absolutely loved every minute. Ann provides the perfect touch and you instantly connect with her. The sauna afterwards is a such a great addition to your wellness experience. I look forward to becoming a regular customer! Update Feb 2020: Betty took fantastic care of me today. Can't wait for my next appointment.

I have been to Anne and Betty, both are incredible massage therapists. I have been all over the peninsula (Watercourse way, Rosewood Avant Guard etc) and honestly, these two ladies at Redwood Massage have given hands down the best massages that I have had. It is NOT a fancy place, it is NOT a spa, it is not somewhere to go and lounge in a towel and spend the day.
It IS the place to go for a very good high quality massage. I cannot speak as to the other therapists, but these guys came highly recommended. I am very picky about style, and quality, and most places are ok, and give you a nice rubdown, but not a true massage. I almost felt like I had to interview massage therapists at other locations before I let them touch me and pay for a massage that truly sucked. If you want a great massage this is the place.
