Had a maternity massage for my wife and a normal massage for me. Very easy to schedule and easy to park at. Excellent massage therapists who were attentive and communicative.

Lovely staff and peaceful experience. My partner and I got the couples massage. It was my first massage and they were very hospitable. I would highly recommend this place. I wanted a relaxing experience and this is just what I got.

This was the nicest place I've ever been to have a massage. The service was excellent. The amenities were exceptional. You can arrive early and go into the sauna. You can sit in the lounge in front of the fire and enjoy tea. My massage was 90 minutes with a very nice young lady. I have a CBD massage for pain. It was helpful. She concentrated on my neck back, and shoulders where most of my pain was. They even had a robe warmer while I was on the table. So relaxing and calming. I highly recommend.

My lovely wife has had massages all over the world. 1st thing she said when entering the car? "That was the BEST massage I've ever had in my life!". Lemme tell ya, comments like that don't come lightly. Great location. The owner actually did her massage. We'll be back!

What more can you ask for than an amazing 90 minute massage in one of the most beautiful places on earth? This capped off my daughters and my 4 day vacation on San Juan Island. Just approaching the island, I can feel my stress levels reduce and my blood pressure lower as I enter into my calm state in my most favorite place anywhere. But after a few days of trekking around the parks and trails and a glorious whale watching boat trip, it was time to tend to these tired, achy muscles. Richard balanced relaxing massage with some deep tissue work that targeted muscles I had no idea were so tight and sore.

I live in Orange County, Ca (a day spa Mecca) and have had many, many massages. This was the best massage I've had. I'm a big girl, and usually a bit apprehensive going into a place that's new to me. I was extremely comfortable start to finish. Everyone was so nice and professional. I will definitely be back on my next island adventure.

Had an anniversary couples massage here last weekend. Very nice! First time we've allowed a massage therapist to touch us in 18 months! Emma and Jill both did a great job. Felt great afterwards. They wished us happy anniversary a few times which was thoughtful. Only suggestion I would make is to use real head pillow covers. They use a regular pillow case and it's bunched up in your face.

Glad they use bleach to wash the pillow covers but not good to smell. I thought it was just me but my husband mentioned it too. Otherwise it was a great relaxing and thorough massage.

I had a wonderful massage with Elizabeth today. Her hands moved seamlessly on my back and neck. I wanted a medium strength massage and she was "on Q". If and when I return to the San Juan's I will be returning to this spa!

I'm here with my girl friends for a girls weekend. We had a thruples massage. We booked our massages a couple months out and she was really helpful. I had Richard as my masseuse and he was amazing. Probably the best massage I've ever had.

This is my second massage here in a year and each time I have received a deep and effective massage. They have accommodated my spontaneous schedule as an off Islander with grace and have provided me with great relief particularly this time after a small fall that involved a dock cleat! Thank you to Ken for the massage today and to the lovely woman at the front desk for her help. I'll be back again.

Get a chair massage. It's $1 a minute up to 30 minutes. I will say that a few of the massage therapists aren't very good (I've had all of them massage me). But most here are great and friendly.

Had a truly sub par couples massage here a few months ago and was more than a little surprised by it given the positive reviews on here. The interior is simple which is fine but the massages themselves were completely underwhelming. My therapist Tyler did some version of healing touch which I did not ask for or pay for. But this involved resting his hands on every area he massages for at least 3-5 minutes per area (ie each arm, leg, back, etc) So when you add all that time up, half my massage was spent with the therapist just standing there not doing anything beyond resting his hands.

It was bizarre and uncomfortable. He spent so much time doing this that I didn't even get a full body massage which is odd. For $100 a massage it was beyond disappointing. Will never go back and would not recommend.

Couples mass was great. Perfect way to kick off our weekend on the island. Took the early ferry over from Anacortes and straight to massage.

Absolutely loved my massage! Me and my husband went on a 4 mile hike and I was really feeling it afterwards especially being almost four months pregnant! Super happy I splurged on this. Richard did an awesome job! Very relaxing and I feel like I could go on another hike as soon as I left!

Lavenders sent Ken Atwell and Nancy Brickman to Friday Harbor House to provide in-room massage for my husband and I. Ken really read my intake survey and did a spectacular job tailoring my massage to my needs. I have an issue with one shoulder and he loosened it up adeptly. It was one of the best massages I've had. My husband also appreciated Nancy's approach. Thanks! We'd absolutely rebook on our next visit and would recommend them highly.

My fiance and I booked a couple's massage on our trip out to finalize our wedding details. I read good things about this massage place, and decided to give it a try. It was my first massage ever, and our first couples massage. I was matched with Tyler, and my fiance was matched with a woman. I let him know that it was my first massage and that my shoulders were tight, and I've got to say it was incredibly awkward.

He giggled as he told me to take the bra off but leave my "panties on". He was in general just very very awkward, and did not put me at ease at all. The massage was very rough, and to his credit, I should have spoken up about that. However, I later found that he focused exclusively on my legs and butt, and my husband did not get any work on his butt.

In hindsight, I feel very uncomfortable about that because I also did not mention wanting work on my butt. At the end, I felt the massage therapist hold my hand and then about a minute later I realized they had put my hand in my fiance's hand and that's whose hand was holding. But that minute I thought Tyler was awkwardly holding my hand was just very uncomfortable. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

We spent the weekend at Friday Harbor and decided to get a last minute couples massage. We were so excited that Lavendera had availability. I had no idea that I was going to walk out of there having had THE BEST massage of my life. I practice a lot of self care and would say I get massage about once every six to eight weeks. I've had my fair share. Kathy was able to target my troubled areas using bolsters and pillows to relieve the pain and then work out the muscle. It was magic, simply put. Thank you, Kathy!

This was a really bad massage. Honestly, it felt like the guy and lady masseus were out of gas. Neither me nor my friend on the massage felt much work being done during our respective massages. In fact, we both felt that they spent their time fussing about with stones and hot towels and less on actual deep tissue rehabilitation. We were disappointed to say the least. It was equivalent to a gentle, $95 dollar backrub.

This was the best massage and experience that I have ever had. I took my wife and granddaughter and could not be happier. I will come every time I am I come to the island. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Had a massage with Richard-- absolutely amazing! Incredibly perceptive and did so relaxing. Whole place has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. A nice experience through and through.

We made same day reservations, a plus for non-planners. We scheduled 2 facials and 2 massages. There were able to accommodate us at the end of the day which was perfect for us. The massages were good. The facials were relaxing but not performed by a esthetician so basically a face massage. I got a foot and hand rub too. All in all, it was relaxing but nothing to write home about.

My wife and I came in for a 60min couple's massage with Jill and Richard, and we could not be more pleased! Jill worked on me; she sought out my problem spots with amazing precision, including a couple of ones I hadn't noticed I'd had. She has a firm touch, which is a pleasant surprise (many "vacation" massages we've had have been quite a bit too gentle), and I came out of it totally relaxed. Wife says similar of Richard. Wonderful staff, convenient location, great massage, the works. Thanks so much!

I had a massage with Richard the last time I was in Friday Harbor and I had forgotten how awesome he is. Usually when I get a "vacation" massage it pales in comparison to my regular massage therapist and ends up being disappointing. That is definitely not the case with Richard. He intuitively knows, like Mindy, where my "trouble spots" are and I float out afterwards. If you haven't had a massage with Richard it is definitely worth the ferry/plane ride to get here.

Amazing. Best massage I've ever had. Kurt has spirit hands that know exactly how to maneuver on your body. Staff was extremely pleasant. I'll come back to the island for the massage alone, yet Friday Harbor is just a great place all around.

This is my first time writing a review. Jill Patten did my 90 min massage. It was hands down the best massage I've ever had! I struggle with my lower back/sciatica/hips. She really knows how to work on the body and made me feel great! Thank you Jill!

My massage was so-so. I'm pregnant so I think people tend to get freaked out to massage to hard, so it was too soft for me. Not by any means a bad massage but for the price of have liked better. My husband had Beth and said it was one of the best massages he's had! So if you go, get Beth. We had entirely different experiences. So weird, but overall still a relaxing way to spend an hour.

I was in desperate need of a massage. So, I popped in and scheduled a 90 minute combination with hot stones right away ($135). Best compulsory decision ever. The receptionist suggested I arrive 5-10 minutes before my schedule appointment time to fill out a short client info paper. It only took 5 minutes to complete and I was then introduced to Beth. Beth is amazing. She's been practicing for 12 years and is very knowledgable.

Her technique is gentle but effective. I walked out of there feeling 100 times better. She aligned my hips, got rid of all my sore spots and was able to explain to me what she was doing and why. I learned a lot on 90 minutes. Beth's massage was the best I've ever had. Recommend her to everyone! Relax and enjoy your time here.

The best massage I've ever had. It's a shame that I can't remember the masseuse's name, but I know it started with a B (I've seen someone named Beth mentioned in other reviews, so that may be her). In any case, she was so good I was just amazed. I prefer not to talk when I get a massage, and said that at the outset, so I was preparing myself to be disappointed when she didn't seem to register that I really, honestly did not want to be made to talk, but the work she did was superior to anything else I've experienced and when you consider how much more expensive most goods and services on the island are when compared to their mainland counterparts, the deal became all the more exceptional.

A note: I calibrated my initial expectations on the appearance of the storefront, which is busily over-decorated. The individual decorative elements provide grace notes, but there's no sense of less-is-more. They pile too much on, but the massage eliminated all those considerations.
