Body Wisdom Massage Therapy

I graduated for Body Wisdom in 2008 and have been practicing massage ever since. I cannot even come close to words as to how I am able to last so long because of the techniques and education I have recieved at Body wisdom. My first position after school was at Massage Envy. I have been with Massage Envy ever since day 1. I get asked daily if my hands hurt after working for so long and my answer is always no because of Body Wisdom giving me such a great education.

I do have one recommendation though if you are in massage school. Do a deep tissue class! Even if you are not deep tissue the techniques that you learn with the deep tissue class will save your hands! Thank Body wisdom and Massage Envy for making a huge part of who I am today.

The most professional and through training school I have used. Therapists are very good even before they graduate. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Every single massage therapist I have ever personally had there gets 5 stars! That being said, in the last and final time I will ever have anything to do with this business: I bought someone a gift certificate for a "one hour massage". It says it is good for a "one hour massage" right on the certificate. The certificate was valid and had not. expired.

In the time since I got this certificate and now they had raised their prices. Instead of just honoring this older, but still valid, certificate for a "one hour massage" they charged the person who received this as a gift $15 for their gifted one hour massage. No where on the certificate did it says it was only worth $X, it in fact said it was good for a one hour massage.

How frustrating that would be for someone who got a gift and then had to shell out more $$ just to receive that gift. This is not customer service and this kind of penny pinching lost my business as well as the business of the person who I gave the certificate to.

Don't let the fact that these therapsists are in training steer you away. Every single one of the therapists I have had has done a fantastic job. You won't find a better price and you aren't likely to get a better massage even if you pay twice as much!

My son goes to this school and with him being in classes and learning massage so intricately he has not only the power and knowledge to do an effective massage but the gift and ability to put me to sleep and that is so AWESOME! I suffer from 7 forms of Arthritis and have been truly blessed by my son effectively helping to manage my chronic pain thru massage therapy.

Also I would like too thank the owner of the school GEE for her SUPPORT of my son when he went through a hard time in his life that was out of his control while he was in school! Great training for students. Instructors are professional. They can's do clinic message until they have finished labs. They are almost ready to go on their own. I have been a client for years.

I considered going to massage therapy school for over 20 years. Once I learned about Body Wisdom, I knew it was time for me to go for it. I must say, the entire experience exceeded my expectations. I am so thankful for the knowledgeable and experienced instructors who shared their passion with me, staff members who were accommodating, and fellow students who made the learning process so enjoyable. I highly recommend Body Wisdom to anyone interested in a massage therapy career.

Hands down, this is the best massage therapy school in Iowa. It is worth moving to Iowa to attend here. Becomimg a massage therapist takes a huge amount of support and dedication. The massage experience I received from my classmates and instructors was way beyond what I had expected. I graduated yesterday and had a job lined up for me. If you have a decent work ethic and attitude, anything is possible for you. Much love and gratitude to all of my instructors, the staff and my sweet classmates.

I am convinced that this is THE best school for massage that I could have gone to. The amount of information that they give you is surpassed by none. And the entire staff was so nurturing. Going to Body Wisdom was life changing for me and made me grow so much as a person. I would recommend BW to anyone who wants to be a GREAT massage therapist.

I graduated in 2008. I loved every class I took. The staff and teachers are so wonderful and inspiring. Every time I take a class my passion for Massage increases. I've done all of my Con. Ed. here and I always take something new and exciting to my clients. The best experience for your clients comes from an amazing atmosphere and skill that only passionate people teach you. There is no shortage of that at Body Wisdom!

I graduated in 2006, and I have gone back to Body Wisdom for all of my con-ed. The staff is incredible, and I see many of the same teachers I had 10 years ago when I go back, that is a testament in and of itself to how great this school is. They are always coming up with new classes as well, they offer things you can't find at other schools. When I was in massage school I enjoyed every day of it, and when I graduated I passed my boards easily. Don't go anywhere else!

I love the education and experience that I received at Body Wisdom. By far the best massage program in the state! Anyone looking for a great school that will lead to a great career this is the one. Learning from some of the best teachers in the field was amazing. I would recommend this school to anyone who truly wants care and focus at what they do, good people, students and services.

Im at school since almost a year and it was a live changing year for me. Beside wonderful teachers, great curriculum and interesting classmates I learned a lot of how different people's lives can be. It prepared me well for listening to my future clients and figure out what their underlying problems could be. I'm so looking forward to be done and entering the exciting world af massage! I've been there 4 times for massages and they've done a fine job. You really can't beat it for the money.

I graduated from this school over 6 years ago. I have been successful as a massage therapist and now own a spa that employs 5 massage therapists. 4 of the 5 therapists at our spa are Body Wisdom graduates. I know that other spa owners also seek out Body Wisdom graduates because they are required to receive far more than the state mandated hours for graduation.

Instead of only learning the basics needed to perform a relaxation massage (common for schools, particularly those that focus on other career paths instead of just massage) students are able to take in-depth courses in more skilled modalities such as deep tissue, sports therapy, lymphatic drainage, pre-natal and more. Instead of a lecture and video, those courses are each about 50+ hours long.

My anatomy and physiology courses were more in depth at Body Wisdom than they were in college (I have a degree in a health care field). As an employer, I highly recommend this school for anyone considering a career in the field. You will be more employable immediately after graduation. I also recommend it for clinic massages. Of course, not all students are equal or in equal points in their education, the massages are very inexpensive because they are still learning and if you aren't willing or able to pay full price for a skilled graduate, you'll always be taking your chances at a school, but your odds for a good treatment are much better at this school.
