I rarely to never write reviews, but I felt called to reflect on my experience with Ted. To start, he gave me a hard time about me using HIS Groupon. I found this surprisingly unprofessional. The massage itself was not at all relaxing. He was rough, unpredictable and his technique and sensitivity to "listening" to the body was sorely lacking. It was probably one of my most unhelpful and unfulfilling bodywork experiences I've had. (Google is posting this as a recent post, but I actually just edited it. Groupon's are not offered at this time. This post is from about 2 years ago, but still important to share)

My partner called and arranged a couple class. This was a class where we each had one on one instruction from Ted in how to give a massage to the other. He worked to show us good technique and mindfulness. We each had a great message in the end and knowledge of how to continue giving each other much better messages at home. I highly recommend. Ted was personable and professional.

I'm very unhappy, I purchased 2 massages through Groupon before covid $40. Each. I kept contacting him for months checking in with him as he asked me to because at the time he was closed due to covid and was unsure of when he would reopen, he told me to mark them as used and that he would honor the sessions I've already paid for as soon as he was up and running again so I did I trusted him, how foolish of me because now they're marked as used and he will not honor them Now when I call or text he pretends that he has no clue what I'm talking about and pretends to not know who I am. I've called Groupon and there's nothing they can do because they're marked used. So this man got paid for services he never delivered and I lost $80.

Ted gave me an amazing massage experience, and yes, my first visit was through a Groupon coupon. He used many different modalities in the massage. My primary problem was a sore, frozen back from hoisting a wriggly granddaughter and the start of the stoop one can get with aging. At times the work was intense, but Ted always responded to whatever feedback I gave.

I was somewhat sore the next day (not surprising, after all the work he did). Two days later, I feel as if I am walking upright for the first time in years, and my sore back is gone. I feel amazing. I will be back, and I will be sending my partner as well. Great work, which felt fully attuned to whatever specific tensions my body was holding.

This Rah Dogg review is rediculous. I am the client that was booked at the same time as Rah Dogg. Ted has been my massage therapist for a long time. Apparently Rah was accidentally booked at the same time as me. I was at Ted's office with my elder mother and Ted offerrrd to see Rah Dogg after working with me. Mr. Dogg came back after my session and refused to work with Ted. Mistakes happen, and Ted tried to make good on the mishap.

I don't see how Rah can rate Ted's work, because he never stayed for his appointment. If I knew the man was so upset, I would have forfeited my appointment, and allowed him to go before me. Sometimes people just can't be pleased. I'm sorry he didn't get to actually work with Ted Schiff.

I have known Ted for several years now and he has always been one of my favorite Massage Therapists to go to. I value Ted's constant afford to improve his knowledge by taking classes and learning new skills. I always look for a therapist who can deliver a deep tissue and Ted is definitely one of them! I found Valley Massage Therapy through Groupon and am happy to pay full price to receive continued treatments that give me relief from my symptoms from Tick Diseases. The environment is comfortable and unpretentious and the practitioner is trustworthy and very skilled. The reflexology I received had effects far greater than deep tissue massage or other massage techniques I have tried in the past. Thank you

By far the best massage therapist / bodywork guru that I've ever been to. I visited Ted a couple of years ago on a Groupon and he has been my go-to ever since. Ted's massage and body work methodologies are extensive. It's obvious that he's passionate about his work. I've moved to NH, work in Albany, NY and make the time to head to Northampton any chance I can.

The last time I saw Ted, I had been dealing with hip pain for weeks. In a 90-minute session, Ted made all the pain go away. It hasn't returned since. Thank you Ted; your Groupon was a great find! Looking forward to coming in soon on one of your special deals!

Ted gives an excellent massage everytime. I especially like Thai massage which Ted is great in providing. It's all been good and I have gone to Ted many times over the last 3 years at least. I highly recommend Ted as he keeps learning and doing many creative things with massage. His years of experience and compassion for people add so much to the experience!

Ted does excellent work. His knowledge, experience and skills are superb. Ted does a thorough intake. He's a a great listener and I found him to be responsive to my unique concerns. I recommend Valley Massage Therapy and Ted very highly. He's a very talented massage professional.
