We are committed to anti-oppression principles in all areas of our internal and external work. This commitment is grounded in our belief that change is possible, and that our work as a whole will grow stronger as oppression is eliminated. The Pearl Day Spa will therefore ensure that its work accurately reflects and uses the variety of knowledge of all peoples as the basis for all of our activities; that it recognizes the leadership of disenfranchised and oppressed individuals and groups to bring about anti-oppressive change; and that it acknowledges the existence of discrimination and makes a conscious effort to create opportunities to challenge it.
Our lineup of body treatments comprises some of our most unique service offerings, ensuring a transformational experienced from start to finish. Each body treatment begins with an aromatherapeutic steam including essential oils of your choice. Moving onto the table, your service will feature either a full body scrub, herbal wrap, or application of mud or seaweed.
Working directly with your insurance company requires a bit more front-end work than our regular service offerings. Prior to any booking, a verification must be completed. If you book an appointment prior to verification, that appointment will be paid out of pocket. Simply showing your insurance card upon arrival does not constitute verification of your coverage.
Our aestheticians use Yon-Ka products, a family owned and operated company in Paris, France, utilizing only the highest quality ingredients conforming to strict European product standards. After your service, enjoy a complimentary cup of Young Mountain Tea and a piece of premium Equal Exchange chocolate in our lounge, or purchase a glass of local beer or wine to complete your spa experience.

A previous coworker of mine recommended the Pearl Day Spa to me, and my partner ended up getting me a gift card to go there for my birthday. It was my first time getting a professional massage ever, and after my time there today I'll definitely be back! The front desk attendant was kind and helpful and made checking-in and paying a smooth and easy process.
My massage therapist Logan was very chill and cool and helped me feel comfortable right away. He did a great job with the massage, and I feel completely rejuvenated now. The ambiance in the building was also very calm, cool, and relaxing. I loved the decor, music, and aromatherapy scents they had available. Thank you for the wonderful first experience! I'm already looking forward to my next appointment.

Aubree gave me the best massage I've ever had. She was able to tell I was a mom before I even mentioned it just by paying attention to the details and structure of my shoulders and back. I have had several massages by seasoned therapists. Mostly I felt run through the mill in those cases. This was the first time I actually felt taken care of on a personal level.
And as a tired mama, I was incredibly thankful to feel genuinely refreshed and relaxed. I just assumed all massages were the same. Now I see the importance of someone who really puts care into their craft and the person they are helping. Aubree is amazing.

This was my 1st visit to the Pearl Day Spa. I can't believe I hadn't been before! I had a mini pedi/Mani and a 1 1/2 hour deep tissue massage. What a treat! The ambiance was quiet, peaceful and the decor included beautiful artwork from local artists. My hands and nails were well cared for and the massage was absolutely excellent! Highly recommend this down-to-earth professionally staffed spa!

This was my first professional massage ever. Jessica was very nice and thorough, and provided a very relaxed environment. I will definitely be recommending her to my family and friends! side note: with how calm and relaxing the massage is, I'm not sure how people get through it without falling asleep! I tried my absolute hardest to stay awake but I'm pretty sure I nodded off for part of it

I have not been a customer here before but I am part of the team that cleans the building every Wednesday and Sunday. This is a great place to come and relax, that provide pretty much anything thing you would want at a spa and have a beautiful garden you get to hangout in after. The staff are nice and friendly and keep the place tidy.

I bought a massage for a friend and went with her and sipped tea in the lounge while we waited for the therapist to come out 20 minutes late. Then she cut the massage short so she could get back on schedule with a "VIP client who was going out of town." So they offered a discount on another massage. The second massage was cut 15 minutes short as well. What a waste of money.

Booked massage service couple weeks ago for my self, my partner and my mother in law (who is in town from the other side of the country). Explained this while booking and that this was going to be a special treat for all of us before she had to leave town. They called today, the day before services, to cancel ONE appt for my partner. Totally ruined the day and offered nothing except "sorry". Won't be booking here again. So disappointing.

I went in for the first massage I've had while living in Eugene, and first impressions were really good. The ambience was everything you'd want from a spa, with it being inviting, laid-back, and relaxing. My massage therapist was Aaron, and he made me feel very comfortable with the whole process. And the massage! It was seriously the best out of all the massages I've ever had before. He really knew what he was doing, I highly recommend this place and if you can, request Aaron!

I had visited once before for a spa day and it was a great experience. I just went again for my first waxing and Allie was amazing. She set me at ease right away. She talked me through everything as we went and the whole process was smooth (pun intended). Totally exceeded my expectations. Definitely plan to return!

TLDR: This place has a strange risk management policy and apparently if your neck hurts, they won't give you a massage. I was in a car accident recently and needed a massage for a neck strain. My first two experiences were positive. It's a nice enough atmosphere, though I found the rooms themselves a little cold. I got a lot of relief from the second massage with Melissa.
What I did not know is that she wrote in my chart that I needed a MRI. Massage therapists are not typically the providers to make such a referral, nor do I think they are actually qualified to do so. Fast forward a couple months: I'm feeling pretty good with physical therapy and massage from a different provider. However, I went on a long car ride that bugged my neck, so I made a weekend appointment with the Pearl and a different LMT.
I was disrobed and on the table when she announced that she would not give me a massage because the prior LMT said I needed a MRI and it was my fault I didn't follow through. I explained to her that I was under the care of both my primary care doctor (whose referral paperwork was apparently lost by the Pearl Day Spa staff) and a physical therapist, and that none of them thought I needed an MRI. It's puzzling, because people seek massage for pain.
And they were then denying me services because my neck hurt. It was a frustrating, embarrassing situation. When I contacted the manager, she told me that she stood behind her therapists (again, therapists don't make imaging referrals - that's what doctors do) and then she coldly told me to stick with my current providers. Read: don't come back. So I won't, and I wouldn't recommend that you do, either.

People of Eugene, read all of this! PDS is truly at its worst. My mom, sister, and I have been loyal customers since 2001. As of today we will not give this business another penny. My mom and sister scheduled a fun spa day to include a massage and facial each. Original appointment was on 10/20. My sister took time off work for the appointment. PDS called hours before to cancel saying all techs were sick. Offered 20% off next service.
Business rescheduled for 11/03. but could only fit one of them in for services. Offered next service 20% for inconvenience. 11/03 3 hours before appointment business calls to cancel saying all techs are sick again, but could get 1/2 of a facial in. what's 1/2 of a facial? Business offered another (3rd) 20% off service to be rescheduled. New appointment on 11/14.
Can you guess what happened? PDS called AGAIN cancelling appointment. My sister was done, went into the business to talk to the manager. Not available so requested a call back. Manager Lily, mentioned the business doesn't provide refunds, but gift cards could be used towards products. Since this place has given my sister a panic attack, I went in to use the gift card on products at PDS I though she would enjoy. when I got home the Yonka facial oil I purchased had been expired since 07/19.$62 oil expired. Pearl Day Spa. most of the hardworking people of Eugene see going to the spa as a luxury.but your failure to provide services when scheduled and rescheduled on top of selling expired products is unacceptable! What's the point of offering 20% off services (3xs) if the business doesn't plan to keep the appointments? Smells fraudulent and expired like my oli. 12/04/19 To answer back to PDS response of my business review.you have offered a standard business operation in a return for an expired product.
Any business would do this. Unfortunately you didn't answer to the 60% off of services your business now owes my family. Instead of saying "sorry. things just happen." how about try "what can we do to keep your 20 year long support of our business?" Surely any business course speaks to retention.?

I am choosing to update my earlier review to 3 stars because the Pearl Day Spa apologized and reached out to my wife and coordinated with her for another day to come back for a better experience. It didn't completely right the insensitive experience she had the first time, but apology's in business do go a long way and they have at least earned some respect from me.
The fact that they can accept feedback does speak to the companies overall character, and makes me think that the Pearl Day Spa can hopefully in the future provide a better first time experience to those with trauma.

Scheduled a pedicure via their app and was happy with the ease of the process. I got an email or was it a text?j back shortly after confirming the appointment. Parking here is generally on the street, so you have to be prepared to pay the meter. There are a few customer parking spaces but nothing that will fit a full sized pickup. I checked in and was ushered to the waiting room which was nice.
Several comfy chairs, salt rock lamps, magazines and a few products. They also have water and tea available. Overall, this was a nice place to relax and get in the mood for whatever service you're here for. My technician was wonderful, actually knew a few of the same people in town. We had good conversation and she did a fantastic job. My reason for only 3 stars is because of the quality of the foot baths and chairs.
They use large copper tubs with warm water which cools faster and doesn't have a whirlpool. The chairs have no knee support, although they do offer a knee bolster. I personally prefer the newer style other "modern" spas have. If I could have modern pedi chairs in the cool vibe spa, I'd be here all the time.

Pearl Day Spa was such a great experience. I got a massage by Hannah C., and she was absolutely amazing. She was mindful of any request I had regarding my massage. She asked me how I wanted everything to be for my massage- and really emphasized that she was here for my experience. She was very calming and relaxing and made it a very positive experience. I look forward to coming here and to Hannah again in the future!

It's okay here, depending on what services you're getting and who you get. Some massage therapists are of course better than others, and also depending on your needs. Facials are pretty good, fairly limited to the normal stuff and peels. I dislike being pressured about "products" and mostly you dont get the hard sell here and I really appreciate that.
One of the only "spa" type experiences you can get here in this town, so it's got that going for it. I've been unimpressed with their booking process, as their front desk seems to never answer the phone. The atmosphere is quaint and fairly relaxing, bordering a bit on shabby chic/grandmas house a bit. For spa services, the Pearl will come through for you and you'll probably feel good, but there's probably nothing that will wow you about it.

I had a spontaneous pedicure the other day. I was thrilled to get into The Pearl. It was relaxing and comfortable. I was the only one in the nail area and Teal, my nail technician was a lovely kind lady. She was extremely accommodating and I luxuriated in an hour long pedicure. I loved the lemon grass essence she put in the water and enjoyed the exfoliating experience on my feet and calves.
My polish looks beautiful and even with all this rain, I like get joy from pretty toes. It's a lovely little spa on Pearl street. I would absolutely go again as recommend others to enjoy this experience.
