SARAH SARAH SARAH Sarah Hicks is an amazing intuitive stylist who should be considering herself a wizard at this point! A literal artist, with a hell of an eye for not only color but also placement she always makes sure my hair is healthy, bouncy, and shiny when I leave. Can't recommend her enough!

I had an appointment with Sarah and couldn't be happier with the result. She did a fantastic job, both coloring my hair, the haircut, as well as the blowout and hairstyling at the end. I fell in love with my new look and want to recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a great hair stylist. She is not only skilled, but also a great listener and will do her best to meet all your requests in the best way possible.

Sarah Hicks is your go to girl! She has been with me through thick and thin and can make all your hair dreams come true. Sarah quickly and easily got rid of a previous bad dye job from another salon with minimal damage. She has always easily understood what I wanted for my hair, even if I wasn't the best at explaining or vocalizing it. She does amazing rainbow and fashion colors, beautiful reds and coppers and everything in between.

I'm sad she moved away to Oregon, as my hair was in the best condition and looked it's best while under her care. I honestly panicked at the thought of having to find someone to replace her! She's very friendly and pleasant and I've always felt comfortable with her and telling her if I didn't like something. You genuinely can't go wrong with her!

I have never had such a good experience at a salon before in my life, 100/10 I am hooked this is the only place ill be getting my hair cut from now on! Though, I went to the Lombard one which is twice as far from my home as their other location so I do plan to try the closer one next time. Sarah is amazing and I love her! So gentle with my long straight fine hair, my boyfriend was blown away with how nice I looked after she was done!

I am so happy I found this salon. I came in with my natural hair color all grown in. I wanted a complete transformation and BB was so helpful about my concerns. I feel like myself with my new transformation. I went in with my natural hair and left looking like a unicorn! Thank you so much BB see you in a few months!

Within the past year, I have had the pleasure of meeting Cam and having him take care of my hair. He not only has a delightful personality but I swear he is the original "hair whisperer" - I'm not sure how he does it but he coaxes out the natural wave in my hair and each cut is better than the last! I always walk out of the salon feeling and looking beautiful!

I waited until two months after my experience here to give an accurate review of my services here. When I saw my cut in the mirror, I told Kami that it was the best haircut I've ever gotten. Two months later, and I stand by that! My confidence is at an all time high, and I get compliments every time I go anywhere! Additionally, this is an exceptionally respectful and queer-friendly establishment, and everyone I interacted with was just lovely. Strongly recommend, and ask for Kami!

The cutest salon ever! Well decorated, lots of lovely plants, and so so clean! BB always makes my hair look flawless! OH MY GOD! I cannot begin to describe how much I LOVE and adore this place. The owner, Madelyn is an absolute gem. I found this salon when I moved to Portland about 3.5 years ago, and I don't trust anyone else with my hair. Madelyn is an absolute genius when it comes to vivids. My natural hair is black as night and super thick. And I'll post pictures of the magic that Madelyn creates.

And the best thing about it is that my hair is still extremely healthy, little to no breakage and it feels silky smooth still. Oh, and did I mention that she does a mean undercut? She convinced me to get one for the first time and I do not regret it one bit. I love Madelyn and her salon family so much that even after moving to New York, I fly back to Portland to get my hair done by her. She's the only person I trust with my hair! She's truly MAGICAL. Cam is soooo amazing! He turned my vague idea of what I was looking for into the best cut/color I have ever had. He was very thorough with the consultation and had some great suggestions. He is extremely talented and super easy to talk to. I absolutely love what he did with my hair. Salon is nicely decorated and they use all top quality products. Bonus they also sell them retail, very convenient. No searching later for products! 5 star experience all the way.

I have been coming to this shop for I think about two years now and I always see BB. I've been having BB do my hair for just over 3 years now, I'm bad with time. They are an incredible stylist. BB has dyed and shaped my hair in many different directions. Bb is honest and I trust them to do what is best for my look and my hair health. Currently BB has made me into a red haired dream of a person and I couldn't be happier. I have short shaved hair and BB gives me perfect fades and amazing designs when I ask for them. I had a messed up dye job from a different salon and went to chameleon to fix it and was pretty distraught. I had initially booked a different artist in the salon, who is still amazing, but after looking at portfolios fell in love with Kami. She is so thorough, treats you like you're her best friend, knows how to gauge your mood and does an amazing job.

She makes you comfortable, explains everything to a T, and I just couldn't be happier. I don't think I've loved a salon experience more. Love you Kami and chamelon. I can't wait to come back.

I'm new to the area and was in desperate need of a haircut (hadn't had it cut since March 8th, 2020). A friend recommended this salon to me and after some research decided to book an appointment with Hannah, who specializes in curly/wavy/textured hair types. I was not disappointed! The salon is so cute, the stylists are so friendly & accommodating, and Hannah worked magic on my hair.

She was very thorough, very informative, and communicates with you through every step of the way. My hair feels so healthy and revitalized now, I couldn't be happier. I immediately booked my follow up appointment with her for 12 weeks from now and I'm already excited to see her again!

I've been going to chameleon for 3 years and switched to Nicole as I started taking my hair blonder and blonder. She has really changed my hair. I hadn't had long hair in about 10 years. She not only walked me through my options for the blonde hair I was looking for but really talked to me about maintenance and expectations of up keep and length goals. I have been able to have longer healthy blonde hair based on her advice of products and services. She is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

Loved the staff, got a great haircut from BB and will totally come back for my highlights later.

Had another cut/color with Kami this week, and everything exceeded expectations! I'm super happy with my cut and the babylights we did are subtle and blended so well. Thanks a million!

I had saved up money to get something different done with my hair, I have curly hair so I made an appt. with Hannah. What I wanted was a trim, and sliver highlights (I'm blonde). Well the hair cut portion lasted 5-8 min. and was 60.00 (outrageous), the partial highlights lasted maybe two weeks (nope I didn't wash my hair and only used color infusing products). I got talked into a product that is nice but not needed. Overall result. I won't go back or recommend them. Just overpriced.

With some serious luck, I found Chameleon when I was living in the Kenton neighborhood years ago. Ever since then, Madelyn has given my hair the best treatment ever. I'm talking the best o the best bangs, shags that grow out flawlessly, a balayage that lasted literal years. And most recently I got the opportunity to model for a lil rainbow magic flare! It's so fun to build a trustworthy relationship with your stylist so they can do fun things like new rainbow styles and I just get to sit back and relax : They are taking Covid protocols very seriously and I felt totally safe in there. I'd also like to add that this is a safe space for all bodies/humans which is so important. You will not regret coming here and remember you get what you pay for n also to always to tip your artist

So much love for Kami! Totally rad person who is very skilled at cuts and color. I trusted her to do what she thought best and I was so happy! She heard all my latest hairy situations and made my hair fabulous and created a great foundation. Can't wait to book again, Kami is fantastic!

This wasn't my regular salon prior to covid, but after some continuous scheduling errors with my previous salon I stumbled upon Chameleon- and I'm so happy I did! I saw Kami for my post quarantine cut and color. What a talented stylist. She took my extremely grown out platinum and worked some balayage magic. She brought me back to life! She specializes in unicorn and color correction and simply oozes talent!

She made sure I was comfortable and understands fluid customer service. Looking at the other stylists work, I can confidently say you will not and cannot go wrong by booking Chameleon. The salon cares about their NoPo community and is super vocal about BLM- a necessity for me. Thanks Kami and Chameleon!

I've been wanting to visit Chameleon ever since I moved to the street (I can walk here - big bonus), but wasted time with friends, referrals and Groupons that were all not quite right for me. I'm bummed I fooled around elsewhere for so long, but I am glad I finally came in. Kami is a newer addition to the salon, but I saw that she does fantastic, vivid color on her Instagram so I called to make an appointment. Kami was able to do my hair the same day I called (spontaneous pamper-me day on a weekend) which was awesome.

I imagine she will become booked out as she really is a sweetheart and kick-a$$ stylist. I'm usually the girl who prefers to read and listen to music while at the salon, but I found myself blabbing up a storm because she's so easy to talk to. We did a single-process color of violet/burgundy that turned out to be gorgeous. She cut my hair into a fun, cutesy lob, which is exactly what I asked for.

I feel refreshed and like me again! I will most definitely go back to Kami for all my hair styling needs, including Balayage when it gets warmer. I am an adventurous colorer who needs a fabulous colorist. The salon itself is super cute, relaxing and welcoming. I dug hanging here for an afternoon with some tea, and I can't wait to come back!

I love Chameleon Salon! I get my nails done by Christi (Polished in Portland) & I've had my hair done by Madelyn, with Meg assisting. Madelyn turned my black hair into beautiful mermaid hair. And Christi does the most amaaazing nail art every time. All my experiences there are so positive and I always look forward to my time there. Everyone who works there is so talented and friendly. I love the body positive atmosphere too. I highly recommend Chameleon!

I had a very specific cut and color idea in my mind and Meg Moon made it happen. She was meticulous in making sure everything from the colors, to how they were laid out, to making sure my bangs were cut just right. I now have the hair of my dreams and am so happy about it

After my hair returned from Chemo it was time for me to get my first hair cut. My daughter suggested I not simply get my hair cut but see someone who specializes in cutting curly hair because my hair returned extremely unruly following chemo and I was fearful I would never find someone to tame my new mane. At my daughter's recommendation, I went to Hannah. She's unbelievabley talented and is generous with her knowledge.

After cutting my curls Hannah showed me what products to use and how to use them. I will continue to make the 2 hour drive for her to cut my hair. She's worth every mile!

Nicole and her assistant Meg were amazing and so sweet. I asked for white blonde with a smudged root so it grows out well and I LOVE it. Meg blow dried and styled my hair better than I've ever I've ever had done. I've been searching for a stylist in Portland for years and I'll definitely be returning regularly.

A great salon with a staff that obviously cares and loves each other and their clients. I would feel comfortable coming back and getting my hair or makeup or even nails done by any one of the employees at this salon. They are truthful with what is possible to accomplish and work hard to get you to your goals. Brianna explained every step of the way and why things may not work (with ways I've previously treated my hair) and spent way more time than expected to give me amazing service.
