A healing space is a place where knowledge is power. Skilled massage therapists know that people who are in pain or experiencing too much stress often stay that way due to a lack of education concerning their own body. Those around them may not understand what they are going through physiologically either and, sadly in some cases, don't want to hear about it.
This can lead the sufferer to dissociate from their pain and live silently with dysfunction to the point of developing chronic states. Anyone in this kind of situation not only needs validation but to be given hope, information and empowerment toward their own wellness.

In the world of massage therapy, neck pain is said to be caused by unhealthy postural habits that lead to muscular strain and also tension headaches. Looking down too much or having a forward head posture are among the culprits of neck pain. Treatment and education about preventing forward head posture go a long way in helping to avoid neck pain.
There are many different causes for headaches as well as many different types of headaches. This will lead to a decision of whether massage therapy will help relieve your headaches. In some cases, it may be necessary to err to the side of caution and refer you to another health care professional. If you are a good candidate for headache relief from massage therapy, a variety of techniques will be used to relieve your pain. When the suboccipitals are tight, they may affect blood vessels which are near nerves associated with protective coverings of the brain.
Kathy couldn't figure out the cause of her frequent neck pain and headaches. When we went into her history during her intake assessment, she revealed that 6 years ago she was rear-ended in a motor vehicle accident. Kathy's doctor said she had whiplash and sent her for physical therapy, but she never followed through with the suggestions of her therapist.

I'm a regular with Joe and I highly recommend him. I have jaw, neck, and shoulder pain, and he is taught me more about my pain, and the muscles, tendons and ligaments involved that all my doctors combined. He is flexible, will ask you what you need, and can offer a quiet, relaxing experience or an educational and informative medical approach. I cannot recommend him enough.

There are are not enough stars to give this business. Joe is truly one of a kind, his passion for his career is amazing. I have been in pain for years and after just one session with Joe he worked out every issue I have had. He does a full body assessment before the session starts. During the session he goes into detail about everything he works on and how to stretch at home to avoid future problems. I will be back for regular maintenance and can not recommend this business enough!

Amazing! I wish I could give you 10 stars! I feel absolutely amazing after my first session. Joe is fantastic. He does a thorough evaluation and gives great recommendations for stretches and strengthening. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does. I cannot believe how much tension he got out of my shoulders in that one session. Wish I came to you sooner! I will definitely be back soon. Thank you so much Joe!

I always go to Joe for a massage. He knows a multitude of techniques, is compassionate and is able to provide a wonderful massage. I feel like I was just on vacation after seeing him yesterday. I was so stressed and beginning to get ill. He plays lovely music during the massage and you are the only one there. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a true professional!

True massage Therapy- I consider Joe part of my "Team" I am an athlete and have been training for my second Ironman and hopefully will earn a spot at the Kona World Championships. This is tough stuff on the body, but with proper stretching and massage therapy to keep things from tightening up- the body stays happy. The following is a note I sent to Joe following one of my visits: pretty much sums it up- HE WORKS! > Thought you should know- I have had the best results already from today's > work- I appreciate the time you take to get the work done- you are stand > alone as a massage therapist- bodies don't respond because the hour is over- > and as an athlete that spends countless hours trying to be the best I can > be, having you on my team to keep me going is much appreciated!
