Bella On The Bay

I couldn't recommend Bella on the Bay more highly! I'd been searching around for a place to pamper myself on my birthday, and Bella on the Bay was the perfect blend of luxurious experience (beautiful location with high-quality, caring staff) with very reasonable prices (compared to a dozen other salons I researched). I received the most relaxing signature facial from Carly who was extremely sweet and catered to my every need, including providing me with a file when I chipped a fingernail!

Upon leaving, I was surprised with a bag of goodies (product samples and coupons) for being a first-time customer. I will sing BotB's praises to anyone I meet, and I can't wait to return for another service!

If you are a man looking for a great cut I highly recommend Dan. His bald fade skills are on par along with his eye for detail and willingness to listen to your feedback/work with you on what you are looking for. Service: Haircut

I had the most awesome 60 minute facial with Jennifer yesterday. It was very relaxing and my skin just glowed afterwards. Doing it again next month. Can't wait! After my facial I was offered a complementary blowout from Dan. Also very relaxing!

I had a fantastic massage with Alison and will be returning. She is a great communicator, helped identify and prioritize my problem spots, and was responsive during the massage. Extra touches like hot towels and a steam shower afterwards took the experience to the next level. Highly recommend, especially during this winter blues season!

They gave my eyes a infection for lashes. Please beware. They reuse their products. 0/10

Sam is the ABSOLUTE BEST at eyebrow waxing and shaping. A true pro and I leave with perfect and very natural looking brows. She makes them the perfect thickness and the absolute perfect feminine shape that makes your face instantly refreshed. I have had my eyebrows done at easily 5 or 6 different places and I'm rarely satisfied and Sam is an artist who makes it seem so simple. I'm in and out in usually 15 minutes with perfect brows.

I came in today for lash extensions and was super pleased. As someone else said, the whole experience was very relaxing- I could've fallen asleep. I was bummed to hear the girl who did mine is leaving the salon, but will be back to give the other aesthetician a try since I had such good luck this time! Highly recommend. Edit: I came back and had Sam do my lashes- she is just as great. She is an uber perfectionist. I'll never go anywhere else again!

Missy has gone above and beyond in assuring the protection of her clients. I was one of her first clients today after the Covid restrictions were lifted. It felt wonderful to get salon services again! Sara gave me a wonderful color and cut service! I feel so much better. Rest assured - - your safety and that of her staff is #1. I had Kendall yesterday and she is amazing! It was my first time at Bella on the Bay. She's very good at making you feel comfortable and i like how she wanted to make sure the whole time that I knew what she was doing. She listened to me and what i wanted! The salon is also very good at making you feel welcome. i was instantly greeted as i walked in the door and directed towards the desk and directed towards the waiting area.

I did not have a current hair stylist (as mine had left the salon i went to) and now i will be using Kendall and Bella on the Bay for all future hair appointments! thank you Kendall and thank you Bella on the Bay for being around to help us ladies feel beautiful again :) highly recommend this salon

Went here for the second time to receive a makeup application for an event. While confirming the appointment, I was told that the total, including lashes, would be $55. However when I went to pay, the total was actually $67, since lashes were apparently $20. Besides the unexpected expense, the overall look was terrible. On the topic of lashes, I asked for single lashes, instead of strip ones, to be placed underneath the lash line, as it looks better and stays longer.

However my artist completely ignored this request, and the lashes ended up going all different directions and falling off only minutes later, so I had to re-adhere them. As far as the rest of the makeup, I asked for an earthy light brown toned eye, which I more or less received, but my artist failed to blend it. When I asked her to blend it, she responded "oh you don't want it sharp!?". No, I don't think anyone wants their eye look to be "sharp".

I asked for a nude lip, and she insisted red. I decided to trust her "expert" opinion, but the she didn't even ensure that the matte red she used covered the entirety of my lips. The "full coverage" foundation immediately sank into my pores, and was medium coverage at best. I thought the artist and I shared the same vision of a fresh and fairy like look, but after what she put on my face, I can confidently say that we did not. Overall, I was disappointed with the result and will not be coming here again for any service, as well as recommending my friends not to visit here either.

I so wanted to give this salon a better review. Let's go over the highs and lows: High: -beautiful space -relaxing massage -great steam shower after Lows: -My masseuse cut my massage 10+ minutes short which I realized when I looked at my watch afterwards.and expected me not to notice? -my husband had booked it for me and the girl the front clearly had not been trained well and couldn't find his cc saved in the system which I know was confirmed ahead of time.

I then had to pay for my own gifted massage. -they offer a free blowout after spa services if someone is available, which someone was. When I went to check out not only could they not find my husbands cc on file but they tried to charge me for the blowout. This was supposed to be a relaxing treat from my husband and having to deal with all of these issues after my service definitely negated a lot of the relaxation I felt. So disappointed and I know they can and should do better. The lack of consistency and care is why I will not be back to Bella on the Bay.

This was an amazing experience start to finish. I was stuck in traffic and Kendall was able to move my appointment back by 30 minutes. I love that they have off street parking. The salon is peaceful. The people are kind and friendly. Kendall was an amazing stylist. She is very knowledgeable, my cut and color look exactly like the photos I brought in. Thank you Bella by the Bay and Kendall for making a very stressful day end on a relaxing note.

Phyllis is a fabulous masseuse. Great atmosphere and very relaxing. Highly recommend. Great location, too.

My daughter and I went as a special treat for massages. Phyllis was an amazing masseuse. She gave a perfect really deep massage. The entire experience was extraordinary. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Bella on the Bay for a great spa experience.

I received a gift card from my family to get a prenatal massage for Christmas. I had never been here before, but it looked like a beautiful cozy place. I called and made a reservation and they informed me that my massage would be an hour and a half long. When I arrived they showed me around. I put on my robe and made my way to the seating area to wait for my massage therapist.

The seating area was very bright and and was rather cold. Most massage locations are warm with a fireplace, nice music, dimmed lights and a nice comforting relaxing smell. This was not at all like that. I was then greeted and brought back to my room. The room covered in tile (floors, ceiling and walls). There were shower heads all over the room, kind of reminded me of a gym locker room community shower.

They tried to cover it up with sheer gold material, but it was not a warm or relaxing room. There was also a loud clock that ticked in the room, one of my biggest pet-peaves. The bed was rather high and made it challenging to get into when your short and let alone pregnant. Before starting the massage, I had explained that I have a lot of back and neck pain and enjoy deep tissue massages.

She said they could do deep tissue, but would have to be a little careful since I was pregnant. She gave me as massage and it felt like someone was just rubbing me, rather then actually working the muscles. I have to mention, I was cold in this room, I had goosebumps under the blankets which is not relaxing. My massage ended and they offered me a foot soak, which I chose to take.

This was located back out in the seating area, where it was very bright again. I then made it back to the locker room, where i realized my massage was no where near an hour and a half. It was maybe a 60 minute massage. Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience here. I felt about the same going into the massage as I did when I left, which is unfortunate as I really was looking for some relief. Also, it was quite a bit of money for something that was not good.

I had the most wonderful massage with Jody yesterday. She's so knowledgeable and I felt like a new women!

This spa and salon is located in a charming former home in downtown Excelsior. This is my go-to place for great massages and facials. The main level includes the reception area and hair salon. The lower level is the nail salon. There are two pedicure chairs, perfect if you're by yourself or with a friend. There's no feeling of having a crowd watching you.

But the best part of Bella, at least for me, is the upstairs spa. There's a comfy waiting area with a fireplace, and you can relax with some herbal tea before and after your service. I highly recommend Phyllis for massage and body treatments, but I can say all the massage therapists and estheticians are wonderful. The estheticians will customize facials based on your needs, and you can add on services like dermaplanning. Prices are very reasonable for a spa. I highly recommend giving Bella on the Bay a visit.

Just had a 90 min massage at Bella - first appointment of the day. The door was still locked when I arrived even though they called me and requested me to arrive 15 min early. No slippers were in the locker room. I actually had to look in their closest for a robe which they said was waiting for me. Then the massage therapist asked me what I would like and stated I reserved a 90 min deep tissue massage with pressure of 8.5 out of 10. Told her about my trouble spots so I figured there would be no issues.

I did not get a deep tissue massage. First she asked to see my tongue. (Weird). Then to much talking for the first 30 min. I got 90 min of someone smearing lotion on me which I can do myself. Then I got advice on how to stretch. By the one hour mark I wanted it to be over. I reminded her of the pressure which I preferred. No use. I workout often and needed a therapist to really get into my hamstrings and back.

Neither one happened. She tried some acupressure against my liking. If you want a real good deep tissue massage don't go to Bella. If I could give a negative star I would.

Bella is an overall great salon! The ambience is inviting and the staff is warm, talented and knowledgable. I've had cuts, color, waxes and facial treatments and every one of them has been a great experience. You can't go wrong!

I have been coming to Bella on the Bay for about 5 yrs. I love the vibe of the salon and the people who work there. Erika has been cutting and coloring my hair since I started going there. She has done such a great job and always has new ideas. Missy has been doing my facials for years too. There's a reason why she won 2016 Best of Lake Minnetonka for best Esthetician. They carry wonderful products and also have a nail salon. To be honest with you, I have never tried the nail portion. Look no further then Bella on the Bay.

I've been going to Bella on the Bay for three years. Heather does my hair but other stylists have cut our daughters' hair and I've also enjoyed spa services there. This is a wonderful salon with exceptional stylists that really listen to their clients and produce amazing results. Heather works magic with my hair and even though it's a more expensive salon to get kids haircuts, it is worth every penny!

All three of our daughters get beautiful cuts that bring out the best in their hair. I've recently gotten a massage and it was so therapeutic - and relaxing - I bought a package for my husband and myself. With a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and highly trained stylists, they have my top recommendation!

Went back to get my hair done and it was amazing. Courtney was very talented and super sweet. She literally took the picture in my head of my hair and made it happen! so incredible.

I've been coloring my hair for almost ten years, and Erin is by far the best colorist I've ever had! I didn't even have to explain anything to her about my hair (it's really fair) or my color history (it's all over the board), she just took care of everything and nailed it on the first go! Everyone else at the salon is very nice, and I've had only great experiences. It's a great location, ample parking, reasonable pricing, and 5-star service. I can't recommend Erin enough!

I was visiting some family in Minnesota and decided I needed a deep tissue massage to relieve some issues in my back. I booked a half hour massage here and ended up with Devin. She really worked my back and it was one of the best massages I've ever had. The atmosphere was nice, the pricing was reasonable, and the service was exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely return whenever I am in the area.

Bella on the Bay is my favorite spa in Minnesota. I started going there a number of years back when it was under different ownership (and a different name) and have to say I like it better now. Bella offers everything you need - hair, body and nail services - all in one convenient location: Downtown Excelsior. I used to get my eyebrows waxed at Bella (I now try to maintain on my own to save $, but when I do get them waxed, I no longer go to Bella - no particular reason). I've had an awesome massage at Bella. they give you the royal treatment. flip flops, plush white robe, tea and a warm fire place while you wait. when the masseuse leaves the room at the end of the service, she goes into the locker room and turns on the shower for you so it is ready and warm when you get in there. I've also had a pedicure at Bella and loved it.

One downfall to Bella is the parking. Being in Downtown Excelsior makes parking sparse from the get-go and it doesn't help that Bella has a very small number of spaces reserved for customers. There is a tiny lot behind the building with room for about 4 or 5 cars - unfortunately, it's a small driveway to get back to the lot and you have no idea if it's full or not. So, if you get back there and it's full, you have to back up, go forward, back up, go forward, etc to turn around and get back out to the street. I got my pedicure in the dead of winter and had to walk a block and a half in flip flops to get to my car because there were no parking spaces nearby when I arrived.
