Really neat hot spring. There are 3 areas that have temperatures of hot, warm, and cold. The road there during the summer was easy to drive in a compact car and the website was easy to make a reservation. The facilities were nice and there are areas to change and use the restroom. Be sure to bring cash as they do not accept card. I would also recommend bringing towels. This experience was fun in the summer and would likely be even better during the winter.

I don't understand the appeal. Despite requiring reservations, the pools feel crowded, because everyone hangs out in the one pool temperate enough for lingering. The pools also seem poorly designed, lacking places to sit. Instead of resting comfortably, you lean your forearms awkwardly on the pool rims. Maybe the temperate pool was so crowded, because the river itself had a light coating of scum, and almost no one swam in it.
The pools themselves are somewhat slimy, too. Hot springs are typically kind of gross, but offer showers so that you can leave the gunk where you found it. Not here. This was dismaying. I drove home smelling weird. I'm giving three stars because 1) the surroundings are beautiful (I was treated to a pink sunset through the aspen groves), and 2) the staff are very friendly. But I won't come back, and I wouldn't recommend it.

This is definitely one of the best hot spring. The reservation and limiting how many people go is definitely a much better experience where it isnt fully crowded and wouldn't have to worry about waiting for parking before when it's pack. Do a reservation and there won't be any issue you will usually have a parking spot and it will be spacious when you are in the hot spring and have a relaxing time. Very easy to reserve as well. Earlier the better you do it to make sure you get your time you want. Overall the hot spring during the night is a great experience.

Girlfriend told me about this place. We were going to go for a couple of days but wnded up only being able to take a day trip, which was still very enjoyable. The check-in process was pretty straightforward. We went during mid-day, from 2pm-4pm. When we arrived it was moderately crowded with bigger groups (mostly families), but not so much that we didn't enjoy ourselves. The different temps of the pools was a really great touch.

Giving a 5 star even if the road up is rough, the employees are hit and miss and the cabins are a little dated All of that said, I stayed a night in cabin 1, a large rustic cabin that is just above the main parking lot. There's a queen bed upstairs and 2 twins downstairs. I left the heat all the way down and it was pretty cold outside but nice inside, cabin 1 has some solid insulation.
Gas heater and light inside, grill outside. A few chairs indoors too. No service, but the peace and quiet were very nice. There's an outhouse for nature calls too Access to the pools is from 8 pm til 10am the next morning, but I think they kicked everyone out at 10 (Thursday night). I'd hiked back from the water to the cabin to make dinner at 915 and didn't have the energy to go back down to check. Hitting the pool in the morning gave me a nice chunk of time with the pools all to myself.
That was pretty amazing There's 3 main pools, 1 right by the bridge that's medium temperature, the next pool after the bridge, and the first one most people come to is the hot pool, then there's the cooler pool a little further down. I recommend starting there or entering the hot pool from that side. The close entry is by the inlet and it's the hottest place.
In cold weather the toes need a few minutes to regain life. There's a nice changing room and bathrooms with showers too One of my favorite places to relax and I'll be back I was almost sad there was no snow when I first got there. All weather tires on an MDX managed the drive in and out. I assume a lesser vehicle would've been in trouble in the morning because the hill to the road is a little steep from the cabin

I used to love this place. Its still beautiful, lodging is good, springs are amazing. But they've dragged the pool reservation and mask madness out far enough. There is now no scientific reason to go into complete panic that a group of people might sit outside in a group of 7 as opposed to 6. There is no scientific reason to lose our minds at the thought of folks going maskless outside at a remote mountain campground.
For a more pro-science business, check out Old Town Hot Springs in Steamboat. No reservation required, no one losing their minds that you aren't on a list. Much nicer staff, too.

Great experience. I would highly recommend following the guidelines re coolers, etc. We did the late night visit and used the Hot Springs shuttle from our hotel but hope to return for day visit so we can capture some good photos. Bring flip flops or easy slip on shoes with traction - the less clothes to take on and off the better (for time saving sake!) Two hours is plenty of time to enjoy the springs - totally worth it!

I went here about a week ago. beginning of January. This place was amazing. And the guys who got my friends and I checked in were really kind and helped us out when we got there. Definitely bring a towel, warm clothes, some water, and ofcourse your bathing suit. The scenery is beautiful. There were 3 different pools where we were at. One was extremely hot.
One was really cold like a polar plunge. And one was a good temperature between the two. Keep in mind you won't have any service when you get there. Which is a good part of the experience too. Makes you feel more connected with your surroundings.

Excellent service. easy process with reservation. I highly recommend following rules. Clothing optional is great but those folks aren't fond of flashlights anywhere around the pools or cell flashlights in the pools. You will be able to see adequately when your eyes adjust, take your time, walk slowly in and out of pools as it is a very natural environment. The mountain scenery covered in snow is amazing and provides natural light.
