We had high hopes for a wonderful time. It was an overnight trip for our 1 year anniversary. We arrived and checked in. The person checking us in was Lori and she was not friendly. Upon entering our room there was peeling wall paper, damage to the doors, old holes in the wall from something that had been removed, the curtains were outdated, the carpet was faded and the bed was uncomfortable.

Outside of our room the hallways had large water stains on the ceilings, the doors leading into the hotel were unsecured. The outside pool closed at 7p which seems very early for summer and for a resort. The indoor pool was freezing cold. We ended up checking out the same night. Going up to the desk we were dismayed to see Lori again. She was very unhelpful and made no effort to get us a better room.

No offer of a refund or anything. As we were leaving we said goodbye and to have a goodnight and she didn't even respond. The next day I called to speak to someone about our experience and was told I could talk to the guest service manager. It turned out to be Lori. I once again expressed our experience and even pointed out that she was unfriendly and unhelpful. She tried to convince me that she had said goodbye and that we were "adamant about checking out and going home" as her reasoning for not offering a different room.

I made reservations through a third party app for one night and here is my experience: I come up to the front desk around 11 PM, I tell the young lady that I have a reservation, she apologizes saying she is new and that the system is not working so she will just give me a walk in. No verification or name checked just asked me what kind of room I was looking for and hands me the keys.

I have a baby with me and Im pretty exhausted, I find my way around the building to the rooms only for my key to not work. I then wait 20 minutes for someone to come up with new keys. They come up, open the door, only to find out that the room is not made. I then wait another 10 minutes for the guy to come up with new keys and am finally settled with a room.

The room was nice the bed was decent and after checking to make sure everything is good I get ready for a bath excited for the jacuzzi, which is very much why I chose this place. I get into the bathtub and the jacuzzi wont turn on. I call the front desk thinking perhaps I don't know how to turn it on, and apparently its broken. the front desk tells me He will send maintenance to fix it so I tell him not to because I'm in the bathtub so he says ok. 5 minutes later somebody tries opening my door.

I yell over asking "can I help you?" he says he came to check the jacuzzi. Feeling bad that someone came I quickly get out of the bath and get dressed and let him in. He then proceeds to take the whole bathtub apart trying to fix it but it was broken and wouldn't work. fast forward the next morning, as mentioned I have a baby and was up most of the night so I was trying to sleep in. 9 Am the phones in my room start ringing, the front desk is calling me saying they cant find my reservation and I must come down immediately to verify my stay.

I asked them to let me sleep and that Ill verify everything at 11 when I check it, so they tell me that they don't see a payment and therefore I can not stay. ( I did pay close to $200) Overall, Jacuzzi was broken, my privacy was interrupted, and my sleep was interrupted. As well, the driveway was full of potholes. The rooms were nice though and the maintenance guy was really nice and trying to be helpful which is why I give it two stars. I do have plans to return to Vermont in a month not sure if Id stay there again though.

We paid close to $200 a night with pretty low expectations, since we really only wanted a massage. Let's start with the room; The lights constantly flickered in the bathroom. The jacuzzi tub not only was half taken apart with screws sticking out, but it didn't work. It would turn on and make a horrible screeching noise. We overlooked that. The window handle was broken sitting on the sill next to it.

So we couldn't open to get a better view of the "mountain view" we paid for. Oh! Did I mention the view was blocked by the roof? We still overlooked this dispite the price clearly not being worth the room. The worst part is when we went out at midnight to grab something from our car we realized we didnt have the key to our room. We walked in one of the unlocked exterior doors on the side, went to the front dest where a man we have never seen was unloading. Explained our situation where he happily printed us a new key, without any verification of who we were or that we were even guests at the hotel.

Didn't even ask us for our names. We checked out and will now be calling cooperate about the $300 or so extra charged to my account without any explanation. Needless to say, I won't be going back. And I caution others if looking for a decent place to stay. This isn't it.

I chose this hotel due to the location and amenities. Was willing to pay a bit more to have something to do during the off-season. Unfortunately, none of the amenities that they advertised being open, actually were. No pool, no golf, no cafe, and the meditation area was nothing more than brown plants. A little bit of a bait and switch. When I asked for a refund I was told "sorry, no." Not the best customer service.

The pictures on the website are clearly from many years ago since everything is extremely worn out. I'm glad to hear that a major renovation is underway. The hotel has potential to be great.

Like most of the reviews say, this resort is in a prime location but the rooms are a bit run down and dated. My biggest annoyances with the room was the lack of outlets for our phones, a small (low resolution) TV that wasn't a smart TV, and the brownish water that came out of the faucet when I tried to take a bath. The spa area is highlight. It has most things expect, except they are split up by gender, so don't expect to share the sauna or steam room if you are a male/female couple.

One other issue is the state of their drives ways. They are riddled with huge potholes. Overall, if your just looking for a place to lay your head while staying busy in stowe, this place is fine. If you expecting to be impressed by modern admontites, the Stoweflake is not it. The staff were nice though, and I'm sure it will improve after the renovation

A very clean and well-maintained facility. I got a manicure and the woman doing my nails was so awesome (wish I remembered her name)! I loved relaxing in the indoor whirlpool and the aqua solarium. It's $50 for a day pass or you can get a treatment (the manicure for $50) and also get the day pass included which I found was the way to go. I will definitely be back in the future for sure!

The resort had water stains on the ceiling; rugs were very worn and in places ripped and buckled. Charlie B's staff were not very competent. We ordered food for pick up and arrived as advised onlt to wait an additional 40 minutes because the employee didn't know how to read the orders and our order had been ready. Needless to say the food was cold and with no microwave was not very savory. the hot tub was barely warmer than the indoor pool; the game room was very dirty. I will say that the room was clean though very dated. Paying $270.00 per night.not again.

I was a bit nervous to stay at the Stoweflake after reading the reviews on here, but our stay ended up being wonderful! All of the staff members we interacted with were very kind and accommodating. Our room was very clean and everything worked fine. The fireplace was such a treat to have. I guess the only feedback I would have for the hotel is that I tried to call the front desk a couple of times for some needed items, and no one answered, but I assumed staffing shortages and the new Covid variant had something to do with that. Overall we had an excellent stay and will plan to come back during our next visit to Stowe!
