I didn't wanted to post any reviews but I am just so upset. I can't I have to say this. I had booked 3 appointments for my kids today paying a 50% deposit for keeping this appointment because I was a new client. My daughters have long hairs all of them. I went there waited for the person to get my daughter to cut her hair. She came out don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself it seems like she was mad when she looked at the hair she had to deal with.

She looked at the hair and said she needs more time she can't do this cause she has other person coming in. At that she left I was thinking that she is trying to figure out what we will be doing and let me know so I waited thinking that okay the other 2 will get there hair cut and we might have to re schedule. They didn't come look at what we are doing with the other 2.

The appointments were booked and 3 different hair stylist were cutting there hair. So this place is not people friendly only the front desk person was good. She did her job whatever she had take care of. I don't know about other people in there but none of them fulfill there schedule appointments. They told me I have to re schedule everyone. So this place need to learn how to answer calls and ask questions like how long your hair is because technically they realize they need more time when your at the appointment. A day wasted and nothing accomplished.

Always top quality - I have been going to John Roberts for 7+ years for: *spray tans *eyebrow waxing *hair dye / highlights *haircuts *men's haircut (husbands) *pedicure / manicure Would recommend all of their services as they have every flexible hours, are professional and have a highly trained staff. Would 100% recommend spray tans from here - only place I really trust, as I used them for my wedding and multiple weddings that I have been in / attended

John Robert's is doing a great job following protocols for COVID-19! I feel very safe every time I get my eyebrows done by Alyssa, as she sanitizes everything before and after each client, and all of the staff and guests are wearing masks. Cleanest shop I've been in by far since the re-openings. I would highly recommend a visit to John Robert's! They always leave me with great looking eyebrows and a beautiful haircut!

I had a haircut with Katie Lee for $40 and I love it! I asked for a midlength haircut that I don't have to style in the morning and she delivered! My hair looks great in a high pony, low pony, completely down, or curled. She was quick but attentive to detail.

This rating does not reflect all staff at John Roberts, but mainly a particular esthetician I have seen over the years. I used to see her religiously every 2 weeks for waxing services, but over the last year or so, I have switched from getting my brows waxed to threading. When I made the switch, I was open with her and let her know that I would not going to be soliciting her services anymore for my brows and upper lip but would see her still for other needs.

That was the day the switch flipped. I am 100% sure she knows how her attitude and treatment towards me has gotten progressively worse and the few appointments I had since then were awkward and I never had a good experience. Since then, I switched to another esthetician at the salon who is very sweet, nice and really took care of me. Today though was the last straw.

The esthetician I have been seeing was on vacation so I went back to my former esthetician here and experience was just terrible. She barely greeted me, seemed hasseled that I asked for a mirror to talk about what I wanted done today and at the end, on the right side of my cheek, I now have a wax burn. So that's it. Never going back to this place and I would warn future customers that it seems that the staff gets bitchy towards you if see other people at the salon or outside and pretty openly show animosity towards you. Very disappointed that customer experience wasn't a priority and it became a personal thing. I would happily now be taking my business elsewhere.

Easy to schedule a same day appointment for hair cut. Audrey, my stylist, did an amazing job! I called last minute because I was ready for a major hair change. Donated 10 inches of hair- John Roberts takes care of the whole process! Not only this but the cut was trimmed and styled better than I had hoped. Audrey even ensured prior to cutting that the new do would be long enough for a ponytail. Excellent service and very pleased with my new hair cut. Products smell amazing too. Tip: have pics of what you want and they accommodate

Hair cuts are good, but expensive. Best part is getting a head massage with the wash. I used to get hand/arm massages whenever I got my hair done, but those have stopped. Every time I call to make an appointment I sit on hold - sometimes over 10 minutes. Aveda products are also highly prices. Some of the girls cuts can be as much as $85 for short hair. Partial highlights with a cut ran over $130.

For an upscale salon, their finance tracking leave a lot to be desired. I had several gift cards purchased & I had to keep complete track of them myself. I had to prove to them 4 times that I still had $ left on my account. They don't put a total credit on your account. The only track the individual cards and you have to know the card numbers.

Very antiquated system. I loved the Strongsville location, but the closed it down abruptly. Now I have to travel to the east side to get my hair done. When these gift cards are done, I'm done.

I have been coming to JR for 15 years! I have never left unhappy. I have gone to, or go to Alissa, Jen, Nikki, Kira, Regina, Erica, Tina, Heather and have always received exceptional service and customer care. Everyone there seems to go above and beyond. The front desk is always professional, and Maja is always friendly and efficient. I'm so happy to be right up the street from such a great place!

Being a licensed cosmetologist myself I have a high expectation when finding someone to do my hair. John Robert's salon met that expectation and went beyond it! The entire staff was friendly and the receptionist was awesome! Always had a genuine smile on her face and made you feel welcome! I have an important event coming up and Lisa was able to get me in immediately.

She was very accommodating when scheduling me on such short notice. She was professional, paid attention to detail and made sure she answered any and all of my questions. I definitely plan on going back to this salon! BTW I had fusion hair extensions installed andTHEYARETODIEFOR

This place is a gem! I've salon hopped quite a bit over the years, I never found a place that I felt consistently did a good job. until I found John Roberts of Solon! I came here out of desperation from a botched balayage, where a different salon spent 3 hours turning my hair orange and required that I make a second appointment to finish the process.

My sister's wedding was in 2 weeks and I didn't trust them to fix it, so instead I saw Stephanie at John Roberts. She literally turned my orange hair into the most perfect balayage in like under an hour. I never make an appointment with the same hair stylist, because no matter who I see, the results are always great. and I'm pretty picky! Since then I've gotten great waxes here, and I will only ever go here for my nails - Terri is freaking fantastic! I went from getting my nails done just for special occasions, to getting a shellac every 2-3 weeks. No more salon hopping for me.

Always nice to arrive at John Robert's in Solon! There is always a smile when I walk in the door and Alyssa is the best! She does such an amazing job!

I've been going to John Robert's for at least 16 years just to get my eyebrows waxed by the most dedicated professional always fun to see and talk to Alyssa! No one is allowed to touch my eyebrows when she goes on vacation. I just have to look a hot mess shebis that good. I get so many compliments about how good my eyebrows look people ask me where I get them done.

Always punctual if she's running a few minutes late she always apologizes but she's just always happy and a pleasure to be with. I just love going to John Robert's it is such a happy place very relaxed everybody's cheerful & nice and. Alyssa is worth every dime and she is worth every tip! I will never leave her long as she doesn't live with me.

Courtney is the BEST. Being going to her for years. She does great color and awesome cuts. Plus, her personality is amazing, so I look forward to seeing her each time. She is truly a designer/stylist/professional. Go see her!

I have been going here for years and I am SO GRATEFUL for their color and cut classes offered on Mondays for, as a single mama, being on a budget, and not one to wish to spend that much on herself, especially when it comes to vanity, this is very well needed. The girls are licensed and have great instructors looking over them, they just wish to advance to the floor and better their skills so they are very conscientious about doing the best job they can. I'm sure the girls already on the floor are top notch and reasonably priced, I just work so little, I need the classes : Everyone is super nice and professional and the place is always very clean and has a good vibe. I highly recommend it.

The staff is very nice and very welcoming when I started there. The products are all Aveda and smell great but highly priced which you expect with that brand. However it was a little dirty which made me kind of nervous. There was a ton of dust all over the salon tables and there was hair on the floor as well. However overall it was an OK experience just really wish that I liked my outcome of my hair better because it was for a special event and I was so unhappy with it that I actually went home and took it all out. Also it is a bit overpriced as well. Overall the reading that I gave it is because the staff was very nice.

I want to start by saying i have thick, long, afro-curly hair. I was nervous that this salon would not have much experience with my hair type. My coworker convinced me to take a chance. i am glad i did. the stylist that did my hair was Haley, and she did an awesome job. She started by asking me questions about my normal hair practices and asking what i wanted.

The shampoo and detangling process was comfortable and not painful (i say that because i usually hurt my own head when detangling). She gave me a quick relaxing neck massage during the shampoo that i wish i could recreate on myself. the blow drying and flat ironing i know is a task and she was resourceful and asked a fellow stylist to assist in the process. they used a good temperature as to not damage my natural curl pattern (which was one of my concerns). there was no pain and a very enjoyable experience. i was constantly asked if i needed anything to drink and if i was comfortable. i would also like to mention the teacher that was there at the time was also great. she used every moment she could as an opportunity to teach the girls something new. she seemed to be very knowledgeable about African american hair.

I've seen two stylists here over the past 10 years and each time the whole staff is friendly, professional, attentive. I never feel rushed. And my hair looks great.

I've visited here twice and love John Roberts. Mayfield location is surprisingly large with high quality accommodations. My mom and I went for a gel mani-spa pedi appointment, took a little over 1 hour in total. Spa pedi: amazingly comfortable massaging chairs during pedi experience, toes were trimmed, polished and cleaned to perfection. Any rough spots on my feet were gone! Gel mani: lots of color options, high quality work smoothing and preparing the nails, and excellent polish finish. Bonus: I learned that John Roberts will do complimentary gel polish removal later on - excellent service offering! Prices are expensive, but for a special treat, especially if you buy packages with a discount, this is a worthy treat.

Within 2 daya of getting a gel mani and a pedicure, 2 fingers were chipped and polish came off most toes. I've been there before and was please, however, after this latest time will not be going back.

I came to John Robert's today for a full leg wax and was in and out in 45 minutes! The aesthetician, Denise, was very professional and worked at lightning speed. I'm Jewish and Italian, folks, so hairier than most. There is no way that she should have been able to complete the job as fast as she did, so I was pleasantly surprised when we were finishing up and I looked at the clock. $60 for a full leg wax is a reasonable price, as many spas around here charge $80-90.

The salon was gorgeous and had a very relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed the music, which was a meditative track of Buddhist bells. If that's not your thing, I suggest you bring an iPod. Andrea was friendly and put me at immediate ease. She was effective at distracting me with conversation and silences were not awkward. This was my first visit to JR, but I'm looking forward to returning for future waxes.

Went there for a 90 minute massage and it was the best I have ever received. Francine was awesome! All the staff I came in contact with made me feel welcomed. I will definitely be going back again very soon.

This salon is fantastic! I see Katieanne for my hair and she does a fabulous job every time. Its like my hair is given new life once I walk out of the salon. The staff is always very friendly and their reminder system works great with my busy lifestyle (they do text and/or email reminders). My husband also booked a day of pampering with them for my last birthday.

He had no idea what would be best for me, but they helped him design a great day of relaxation for me. I visited every inch of the salon that day and enjoyed every minute of it. I have yet to meet a staff member that doesn't make me feel like their number one priority! I've recommended all my co-workers to this salon and not one has come back disappointed.

Still love JR and my stylist Jess is wonderful. Even mom gets her hair cut here now. I can't say enough positive stuff.

Love, love love it here! Katianne is amazing, but everytime I am there the staff is always welcoming and nice. Prices are great and the ambiance is really comfortable but as an upscale salon. Aveda too, which is a bonus. I definitely recommend Katianne and the salon in general!

Lakea gave me the best massage I have ever had in my life! I've been to her twice and she knows exactly what she is doing and doesn't just massage, but knows the body so well. She's the best!

As a visitor to Mayfield heights for business I got my haircut at this place based on a recommendation from a co-worker. I was in a bit of a pinch for time but needed a relatively simple cut. This salon is beautiful, reasonable priced, the staff is accommodating and pleasant. My attendant was ready as scheduled for my appointment. They were not pushy with product on the way out the door (which was good cause who likes that anyhow?) Like I said I did not have a color - just a relatively simple cut to clean up the shoddy job done by the last person who cut my hair.

That being said 60% of the people in the salon at the time I was there were getting color treatments done - perhaps read some other reviews if that is what you are looking for. I hesitated to give this place 4 or 5 stars. I mean I was impressed.however as I don't; really know the area and what is the norm I elected to give it 4 stars. This place is as good as my regular salon in Toronto and MUCH better/more professional that more EXPENSIVE salons I have been to in Montreal, Las Vegas, Vancouver. I am in Mayfield Heights rarely.but if and when I am back.well hopefully I need to get my haircut!

Visited John Robert's for a bikini wax before my vacation. The esthetician seemed a bit uncomfortable waxing my bikini area which I found odd. Perhaps I was her first, not too sure. She did a terrible job at making me feel comfortable, not much talking, just instruction on where and when to move/lift my legs. But whatever, she finished and I went to pay.

The front desk woman was just awful. When I went to the desk she was talking with another staff member behind the desk. She acknowledged my presence by holding out her hand for payment. She never looked at me, never spoke to me, never smiled, nothing. I've never been treated like that in my life. The other staff member looked at me and it was clear she noticed. I should have said something but it wasn't even worth it. Thanks for making me feel so unwanted. Never again will I visit your salon.

My first time here even if I arrived a little later for my appointment, they were accommodating. The salon uses Aveda products and that's the reason I came but my friend also referred me to try this place out. It's located next to Chipotle and Marcs in the Eastgate Shopping Plaza. Inside, it looks inviting. You can help yourself to coffee or tea.

I went here for a haircut and Danielle did a good job. She did what I asked and gave some helpful tips on taking care of your hair. A scalp massage was also complimentary for first timers so that felt more relaxing. Danielle also gave me a tour of the place. They have a spa and you can feel relaxed already when you walk in. It's in a separate room so not as noisy as outside. In addition, they also do nails. For $30, it was worth it for the cut.
