Marty Turner founded the Sacred Tree Massage and Reiki in 2001 having been a Reiki Master Teacher since 1997 and has been spiritual, body, and energy work since 1984. Marty believes that the body is a spiritual vessel, created in its own wholeness, but can become beaten up and broken down over time.
A. Reiki energy is a subtle energy. It is different than electricity or chemical energy or other kinds of physical energy. Reiki energy comes from the Higher Power, which exists on a higher dimension than the physical world we are familiar with. When viewed clairvoyantly, Reiki energy appears to come down from above and to enter the top of the practitioners head after which if flows through the body and out the hands. It appears to flow this way because of our perspective. However, the true source of Reiki energy is within ourselves.

Marty helped me enter the most relaxed state I've felt in a while, especially around the holidays. He is a true pro when it comes to releasing the exact spots you're holding tension. Marty has helped an ongoing issue that I was experiencing for over 6 months. I went to him after seeing an orthopedist, chiropractors, and I also tried PT for my issue. His massage was the only thing that helped to relieve my pain and improve my condition. So, I am now n a monthly maintenance plan to stay on top of this. I learned that massages can help with an injury. The environment is clean and relaxing. Thank you Marty!

This was my first experience with reiki but I have had many massages at different locations before but this was hands down my best experience. Marty offered to talk me through the massage or be quiet and I wanted to understand the massage/reiki process, so Marty walked me through what he would be doing when and the muscle groups he was working on. I came out feeling so relaxed and honestly totally changed. I would give this review 100 stars if I could.

The massages you get at Sacred Tree go far beyond just a relaxing back rub. Marty is a true professional with a deep understanding of the mind-body connection. He knows exactly where you're holding tension - both physical and emotional - even if you can't quite articulate what's wrong. Highly recommend the 90-minute signature massage: complete healing for whatever you need help with.

I began seeing Marty for massage and reiki almost 2 years ago. I normally would not go to a male for massage, but I was drawn to the energy work and massage combination he provides. I was very pleased and surprised to discover how relaxed and comfortable I was with him as my massage and reiki provider. Due to his unique approach in sessions, I was able to break through some deeply-rooted trust issues I had related to men.
I am very grateful for Marty's skills in being able to hold that space for me during those processes. I wouldn't be the same person today without his work! He has always been very respectful of my boundaries and checks in with me repeatedly on my comfort level and the depth of pressure during sessions. Likewise, he is very receptive to hearing any constructive feedback that I have to share to improve my experience even more in our sessions.

The Sacred Tree is such a wonderful sanctuary of healing. The space is warm & relaxing, with a cozy fireplace & soothing music. Marty gives the very best massage. I walk out of there feeling relaxed & pain free. Over the years, I have had lower back pain & now shoulder pain & he works miracles on my sore muscles. So grateful to have Marty & The Sacred Tree in Newburyport.

I went to Marty for a 90 min massage and tried Reiki for the first time, having no idea what to expect. I left feeling amazing. I literally had the best massage of my life! That wasn't even the best part. From there, I experienced the benefits of Reiki and it changed my life. Marty is a true healer. I look forward to going back as each visit is a new experience. I have recommended many friends because I want everyone to experience what I have. Marty truly is the best and I hit the jackpot when I found him and Sacred Tree.

I was referred to Marty by one of my friends for reiki and massage. I often go for massages but have never tried reiki. I was willing to give it a shot espically after hearing raved reviews from my friend. It was the best decision I made! Marty was very kind and professional. I have had a lot of massages in my day and this one far exceeded all expectations. Reiki is now a mandatory part of my massage. I bought a series and will definitely be going back to Sacred Tree as well as refer him to friends and family.

What can I say? I was just looking to get a normal relaxing massage somewhere and anywhere but then I stumbled upon the sacred tree massage and reiki! I never thought it would turn into one of the best experiences I've had in a while. I am very in tune with my spiritual energy but Marty takes it above and beyond and makes you feel superior. I went in feeling disconnected and walked out with a fresh, confidant, grounded new outlook. Marty is magic!

A massage and Reiki have been part of my monthly physical tune-up by Marty for the past 3 years. I would highly recommend the same to anyone looking for balance in their life. Marty is friendly and professional and practices in a wonderful space full of light and great energy. He brings a great spiritual advantage over other "traditional" massages available out there. I always leave feeling grounded, balanced, and centered.
