2nd update: I went back today and had Eboni as a therapist and she was great. The room was much warmer (and I also brought my own warm blanket :). I appreciate the attention to my concerns and I will happily resume my monthly visits. I think next time I will Schedule a two hour session. Thank you! Update to the review below: Dr. Wray (owner and teacher) called me personally to listen to my concern and offer explanation.
It appears their new location had some HVAC issues which are now being resolved. Apparently room 1 is "noisy" and he is also working on getting acoustical issues addressed. I will schedule another appointment in the next week or so and see how it goes. I do appreciate that he responded to my message and the review. Original review: I walked out. I've been coming to TSM for 12+ years.
Every now and then I might have a hesitant therapist. But the environment was always professional and soothing. Today, however, was the most freaking miserable experience I've ever had getting a massage. The room was freezing cold even with a blanket. I said something and was told they can't control the temperature - it was a building issue. Really?
Then address it with your landlord. There was a class next door (I guess) and all I could hear was constant talking and laughing. I said something, and was told it was another client. Doubtful as it clearly sounded like multiple voices. So I asked if they could turn the music up. The therapist couldn't control that either (in the old Location the therapists had their own CD players.) The therapists hands were ice cold and with the lotion even worse, even when she rubbed her hands as much as she could they were still like ice.
She was obviously freezing as well as I observed goosebumps on her (as well as on me). It's February 1. 62 degrees outside and they had the air cranked full blast (because I could hear it.) 20 mins in and I gave up. And walked out. I don't know if I will be back. Or ever tell anyone else about this place either. They gave me a gift card but didn't seem to make any other effort to take note of my concerns.

I have been getting massages at the school for over 15 years. It is usually a good experience for the price. However, the last few times I have visited, my therapist paid no attention to the areas I indicated were the reason for my visit. I treat myself to the occasional massage, because of tension and stress in my back. Although I was very clear about my needs prior to the massage, the therapist spent less than 5% of the time on my back and I don't think she ever touched my neck at all.
This isn't the first time that I have left feeling like I had wasted my money and received a very poor massage. Sadly, I am tired of being disappointed and probably won't be back.

Just completed my massage course here. Instructors more than cover the basics, but more importantly provide guidance when completing internship. Clients come to this school allowing us to learn how to: *listen for their needs *address unique issues *then let us know immediately how the massage was received. I took advantage of having skilled & experienced instructors on site.
They helped me learn how to address conditions new to me & feel confident addressing the clients. I highly recommend Texas School of Massage. Big thank you to Dr. Wray, Tammy & Rick.

I'm a student at Texas School of Massage and my experience with the school has been wonderful. I've been through a lot of trials and difficulties this year while being in school here, and the staff truly cares for the students. Dr. Wray is a very kind man and goes above and beyond with helping his clients, students, and anyone he has the ability to help. A wonderful experience overall.
