I called to ask a question regarding facials and the customer service left much to be desired. I asked for available dates and the person neither offered to book my facial nor asked if I needed additional help. They only responded in monosyllables and made me feel like I was pulling teeth. Not interested in going here because these are basic customer service skills that should be learned and applied ASAP.

This is what I wrote a few months ago. (See my end comment now. ). I would rate it 4 or 5 stars, if not for most unpleasant experiences I have had with Cheryl, a manicurist. Without providing details, let me say, I will never book another appointment with her. In addition to giving manicures and pedicures, Cheryl frequently mans the front desk and answers the telephone.
Do not be mistaken by her loud and rough manner. The rest of the personnel are not like her. The massage therapists are very good. Both of the other two manicurists are excellent -- Michelle and Nancy, I believe. If Oasis Spa intends to live up to its name, it is time for the owner to allow Cheryl to find another position elsewhere where there is a better fit.
For myself, having patronized Oasis for a number of years, her presence is provoking me to consider searching for another and more tranquil environment. I regret that it has become difficult for me to recommend Oasis. UPDATE: Cheryl is no longer at Oasis. Brandi is my manicurist and I cannot recommend her more highly.

This spa is tops. The owner, Kore, is so personable, helpful and provides excellent facials! I also had lash lift with tinting by Celia and it was THE best I've ever had! This is my favorite day spa in Charlottesville. It has been in business for a long time with a faithful following so that says a lot. As soon as you step inside you will find yourself in a peaceful, calm, comfortable, welcoming and restorative, yes, .oasis! (PS: easy parking).

In the name of transparency, I will say that I do work here, but I had to give my review because I just got a facial from my coworker and it was really wonderful. Working in the spa industry, I know skincare, and I'm really picky when it comes to facials. Brandi has real skill - it was thorough and delightful and her facial massage technique made the product really absorb into my skin.
I have sensitive, dry, aging skin and even though she used spa strength products on me, she did not irritate it or burn it or make me break out. Instead, I left feeling like my skin was plump, smooth and energized! She really enhanced the circulation on my skin. If you get a facial from her, you will see EXACTLY what I mean!

Oasis is excellent with their covid policies, I felt very safe during the entire process. My massage with Cecile was excellent (deep tissue, fantastic pressure) and they even put a pillowcase tucked inside the headrest as a mask when you're face down. Genius. Everyone one had masks on the entire time including the clients. Julie gave me a wonderful pedicure, the whole experience was relaxing and top notch.

Honestly, what can be said about this place other than it is INCREDIBLE and I left feeling lucky to have found both the spa, and owner, Kore, who is just beyond anything I could have ever wished for in an owner. Her COVID precautions were thoughtful and detailed and very safe. She didn't let this get in the way of the relaxing environment and caring ambience, or the impeccable service she provided.
I was a newbie and she was just detailed enough while still leaving me to relax and be alone. You can tell she has put her heart into this wonderful haven. I will definitely be back!

WOW! Absolutely loved my time at the Oasis Day Spa with Chole. This spa is lovely and zen and has a large parking lot. I got a facial with Chole and really loved it, she is perfect. She talked just the perfect amount and then stopped to let me relax and enjoy the facial which is such a gem to find. Because of Covid you wear a teeny mask, but Chole worked around it and it was still super lovely.

I had completely given up on getting gel manicures in Charlottesville after visiting at least 7 different salons over the past year. Every time they peeled after 3-4 days. After coming to Oasis for pedicures, Cheryl convinced me to try again. My gel manicure lasted over two weeks! The facility is clean and the staff is the best! Do yourself a favor and choose Oasis. ask for Cheryl.

My first experience at Oasis was a year ago when my daughter and I were getting pedis/manis for her wedding day. Cheryl not only provided an excellent service on one of the most special times in our lives but also helped my daughter and me through a last minute wedding debacle that had all of us googling where in Charlottesville we could find bowties!
A year later and I am still going back to Cheryl for my pedicures! She makes you feel at ease and relaxed but mostly her outgoing personality makes you laugh and forget about the stress of the day! I highly recommend this salon and especially Cheryl! Get your toes in there!

Today I visited the Oasis Spa and received the best facial that I have ever experienced with Kore Russell. The staff was super friendly and as soon as I walked through the door I felt like a weight was lifted. Any need or want that I could think of was met and I felt completely at home there. Back to the facial - the products Ms. Russell used were natural, smelled scrumptious and made my skin glow magnificently. After this treatment I decided that I will be driving back to Charlottesville from DC on a regular basis. I loved everything about Oasis.

On Thursday, 12/27 I had a morning appointment scheduled for a manicure and pedicure. The night before, my dog became very sick and I had to take her to the after hours emergency vet and was up with her for much of the night. I was finally able to sleep in the very early morning hours and called Oasis when I woke and realized the time. This was right around the time of my scheduled appointment and, still very distraught with concern for my dog who was still not well, I explained the situation and profusely apologized for needing to cancel at the very last minute.
The receptionist was pleasant enough, but rather stoic and just said okay, she'd cancel it. I soon received a call back from her on behalf of the manager/owner (I'm not sure which) reminding me of their cancellation policy and that I would still be charged. I was taken aback by the matter of factness and lack of understanding given my situation.
She then said she spoke to the manager/owner even though she was on vacation (as if to stress what an inconvenience it was to the owner to have to deal with this) and they would charge me 50% of the cost, as if I should have been grateful for that. The complete lack of empathy and compassion for what I was going through was astounding and disturbing and I let her know this, but I didn't have the time nor the energy to press the issue further (and no faith that they cared anyway at that point).
I completely understand the need for a cancellation policy for a business like this -- You have cancellation policies so people aren't blowing off appointments with no accountability or consideration for the business, NOT to punish people who have emergencies and by no fault of their own cannot go and cannot cancel with more notice. My dog passed away later that day.
Not recognizing me as a fellow human in an extremely difficult situation and simply saying "this is our policy" is no way to keep or attract clients; greed for money in a situation like this is shameful. This was my first scheduled appointment with them and after this first impression, I certainly won't be scheduling any more and cannot recommend them.

I finally made it a point to check out their new location in Belmont and it was lovely. There was ample parking, it was easily accessible, and the check-in desk was easy to find. They did a great job with decorating the space and creating a truly serene atmosphere. The front desk associate was really nice and welcoming when I first arrived. She greeted me pleasantly, and showed me where the bathroom and waiting room was located.
The bathroom and general facility was very clean and kept in great condition. The waiting room was very zen with a calm color palate, an array of magazines to peruse, and soothing music. By the time my appointment started I was feeling pretty relaxed. The specialist I worked with was super sweet, personable, and easy to talk with. She communicated with me over different options as well as instructions.
I did not feel unsure or confused and knew what to expect during my appointment. When it came to check out, again, everything was clearly communicated, the associates were very friendly and I felt at ease. I really enjoyed my experience at the spa, and would definitely use their services again!

My daughter and a visited Oasis last Saturday as part of her 21st birthday celebration. We were enveloped in the spa's calm environment as soon as we entered the door, and ushered into a cozy waiting area offering soft lighting, comfortable sofas, tea and other small items. My daughter enjoyed a mud wrap and I had a massage. We were both delighted with our respective services, and plan to return soon!

Oasis is a lovely spot for a treat yourself kind of day. You are first brought to a cozy waiting area where you can find water and hot tea to help set the mood for relaxation. I came here for a flash massage and pedicure and left feeling super relaxed and happy. My massage therapist asked which specific areas needed work and gave me tips for home massage techniques at the end of the session.
The price for the pedicure is a bit more than other standalone nail salons in the area, but you're paying for ambiance and quality. The seating area for the pedi is a little uncomfortable (probably because I'm short though!) but they gave me extra pillows to make it more comfortable. I would definitely come back for the pedicure if I was having other services like massage, but not by itself given the price. New location in Belmont has a nice atmosphere and has free parking!

This is my 10th year as an Oasis customer/client. I recently referred someone who has traveled to Northern Virginia to purchase the wonderful product line that is available at this peacefully, pleasant, and clean spa. I feel healthy and whole each time I've taken the time out to pamper myself with a facial, pedicure, consultation. Oasis has a fine line of products to choose from too! Oasis has now moved to Carlton Avenue. I look forward to visiting there soon!

I had a 60 minute aromatherapy massage today with Catherine. I was congested and couldn't smell much, so I can't vouch for the actual aromas. The massage was good - she asked about any problem areas I have and let me know where I was tight and needed to stretch more. However, she talked a little too much for me - I was trying to have a zen like experience and she pulled me out of the zen with her small talk.
At the end of the massage she offered to massage my face to get my sinuses cleared up! It felt weird but definitely helped. I really appreciated her effort to make me feel better. The salon is very clean and they have nice robes and slippers to wear before your treatment. They also have all the fancy smelly lotions in the changing room for you to test. (Again, couldn't really smell them but I liked to try them anyway).

I have been getting waxes for awhile now and this spa is hands down the best for your money! It was virtually painless (as far as a wax goes) and the technician was professional, clean, and super friendly. I would suggest this spa to anyone who has never waxed before and is nervous about it or someone who couldn't imagine missing an appointment.

I had a gift certificate here for a pedicure and was excited to check out this spa. It was simple to book an appointment over the phone just a few days in advance. It's great that they have some later evening hours. The spa is really nice and conveniently located on the downtown mall. The pedicure area is really nice and unique instead of sterile with those massage chairs. Everyone was really friendly and the service was spot on. This is definitely a place to visit in the area for a special spa treat.

I visited here a while ago and had a wonderful time. While I cannot attest to the bad reviews previously posted, I can give my opinion of my own personal experience. The place was clean, the front desk was extremely nice, and I really loved the spa experience with the robes and slippers. I came in with my mother who got a pedicure from Michelle, who did an excellent job.
My mother said that her feet have never been so soft and her painted toes were perfect. She loved the minty foot wrap that she received. I received a massage from Amy. Her massage was amazing. She catered to all of my needs, did not talk excessively and I was able to relax. She was very knowledgeable of the body and answered all of my questions of what she was finding. I came in with some upper back pain and walked out of there with significantly less pain.

I received what is hands down the best waxing ever. I've been a lifelong eyebrow waxer and I am very picky, but they did an impeccable job. Sara is excellent. She takes her time, is friendly, and manages to somehow make it nearly painless. She is very skilled at her craft! There are two Sara's there apparently, so ask for Sara B. Great atmosphere, upscale without the snobiness of an upscale place. Slightly pricey, but worth every penny. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I love this place! I have gotten manicures and pedicures so far and Tanya does great work. I am not usually a manicure person because it chips so quickly but mine held up for about 4-5 days without wear and tear. The 2nd manicure I put Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails top coat on (per Tanya's recommendations) and fared even better. The spa is not the cheapest but I will pay for quality work and a clean environment.

I recently received a bikini wax here. (Normal, not Brazilian.) Pros: Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, budget-friendly pricing Cons: No trimming pre-wax leading to post-wax HELL! Apparently your hair is supposed to be a quarter of an inch long for bikini waxing, and if it's longer than that, it will be pulled in multiple directions and cause major skin irritation.
It was a friend of mine who does waxing at a separate location who informed me of this AFTER I went to Oasis. I said at my appointment that it was my first bikini wax ever, and trimming was not offered or even mentioned by anyone there! I'm on day three of a really bad breakout caused by this mishap that has had various effects such as difficulty walking, showering, and removing clothing to use the bathroom. Plus, wearing shorts or bikinis is out of the question until this clears up, which seems to defeat the entire purpose of the waxing. If I brave bikini waxing again, I will take my business elsewhere!
