Javier was absolutely fantastic. There was a point where my I was awake but something in my mind was asleep. I was literally snoring. Ive never known how important massages are to your health, I wont keep cheating myself. Thanks Javier!

A lovely space. Had a mani pedi with just the right vibrant no chip red color that I like and had a bikini wax. This place always is inviting and serene. a perfect get away in the city. Treat yourself here!

After a gnarrrly spill from a horse in 2009, I've been slathered in Biofreeze and getting frequent massages for hip/shoulder issues ever since. I've had some stunning experiences, but Javier blows them all out of the water. I'll take his massage over any of the uber-luxe ones I've booked in 5 star hotels over the years. He's easily THE best (I'm talkin' turn-you-into-melted-gummy-bear-hands, here).

I need a lot of pressure and the Force is strong with this one; he gets it exactly right, with amazing attention to detail. Also, he's got a really soothing presence; very healing energy. I tried his 60 minute hot stone massage a few months ago and immediately re-booked for 90 minutes afterward. I'll be booking regularly from now on. Do yourself a favy and go straight for the 90 minute; trust me.

Had a really wonderful massage with Javier; he really dug in and stretched out my limbs in a way that left he feeling super refreshed and relaxed! He was great about listening to what I wanted too. The space is really nice as well, so overall a great experience.

This is such a relaxing place to be! I love starting my massage in the women's locker room, that is tranquil with couches, magazines, soft music and cucumber water. My husband and I go (or try to!) once a month and we LOVE Brian and Julie. Brian has been doing my prenatal massages since I was 5-months pregnant (now at 8 months) and I could not see doing my pregnancy any other way. My husband has chronic tension in his shoulders and neck. Since coming, we can see a significant difference! I love it here and would recommend it to anyone I knew.

It's always a great experience at Spa Space! Most recently my massage was with Mike and I wish I could give more than 5 stars! It was the perfect mix of relaxation and deep tissue. Can't recommend Mike and Spa Space enough!

I absolutely love this place. It is the first time I've found a spa that I've felt comfortable receiving every service they offer. The administrative staff is so polite and kind. The building is so welcoming and serene. Finally, I see the nail technician named Ivy. Ivy puts her heart and soul into her work. She is dedicated and hardworking. I absolutely love her.

I had a 90 minute massage with Javier. It was hands-down the best massage I've ever had in my 30 years of getting massages. He paid personal attention to the areas I pointed out. Went above and beyond. I will be going to him forever.

I used to love to bring my Clients here to have Prosecco (BYO) & pedicures- not anymore! They are still forcing facemasks?! And no more wine due to "COVID" measures? The owners need to get with current times. Been going here for years & SUPER disappointed. Unfortunate for the awesome staff.

The staff is very nice and the spa, even though small, is calm and comfortable. The woman's space is packed with anything you could need (shampoo, conditioner, makeup wipes, q tips, all facial products) the shower has a steam option which was very relaxing and the showers are spacious. I wish there were more private areas for drying off/changing.

You walk right into the shower and have to bring towel and everything into the stall with you. My massage was very relaxing, ask for Francois. My boyfriend said his massage was alright and that the men's space didn't have many toiletries. We shared the sauna next which was relaxing and spacious and I appreciated the private room. My only complaint is that the joint waiting space is practically right in the main area so if you are looking for more seclusion that is a little bit of a bummer. But I definitely will be back.

First time going and it was EVERYTHING the sauna and facial was more than amazing but it was the massage for me Javier touched places I never knew I needed massaged lol I got up feeling like a new person. I can't wait to go back next month

I've been going to Spa Space for about six years and I truly cannot think of a single less than exceptional experience I've had here. Cheers to some exceptionally consistent hiring on managements behalf. This may not be the place for your designed nail extensions, but it's the place to truly have a spa experience and that is rare to find.

Joseph was really professional and knowledgeable and spent time to effectively help with my neck issues. He always checked in to make sure the massage was comfortable and effective, and I would go back to him in a second. I highly recommend!

My colleague referred me to spa space and I must say I was impressed! I was hesitant due to the location being downtown, but there was plenty of street parking. I'm assuming because there's really no other businesses near. Their establishment was clean, friendly staff with a peaceful atmosphere. The locker room was beautiful and cozy. My service was an hour long Swedish massage. I fell asleep, but I woke up once she got to my head. I couldn't have her disturbing my hair extensions She laughed

I just had a pedicure Rx with Melissa Let me tell you, this was hands down the best, most intense pedicure I have ever had. I have problem nails and Melissa made my feet look and feel better than they have in a long time. Melissa was friendly and professional. Her tools and work area were sanitary. Her attention to detail and to my comfort exceeded my expectations! Melissa has a new loyal customer!

This is my first time coming to Spa Space. A friend of mine gave me a gift card to come here because I have been going through tough situations in my life and she said it will help to relax my body from stress. Mind you I haven't had a massage since the pandemic started and my body really needed it. Like really need it, like I have been suffering from chronic back pain for YEARS!

My massage therapist was Javier and OMG he had such a beautiful personality, I instantly felt welcomed and his energy made me feel calm. I know from the start I was going to receive an amazing service. Javier explained to me he has been doing this for over 14 years, and he enjoys to customize the sessions. He told me he incorporates energy work and crystal healing which I never experienced!

He explained the different benefits of each crystal and I was super excited for my session to start! Let me tell you! The moment I felt his gifted hands and the crystals I immediately felt a release of tension on my back, a sense of deep relaxation, and most definitely the BEST massage I ever had! Thank you so much Javier! You've made my day, I truly appreciate you making my energy feel super relaxed and my body feel like a million bucks! You are truly gifted. I am going to tell all of my friends to come see you! Thank you thank you!

Surprise facials for my gf on her birthday. She had Michelle and I had. Both were amazing and we made appointments for another facial before we left. Everything smelled good and was super clean. Beds are heated A+++ Highly recommend and can see why they are rated number 1 in Chicago

Love this place! The best part is Javier. if you want the best massage of your life I recommend a 90 min with Javier. You will feel like a new person! His attention to detail is unbelievable, from his music, to his hot stones, and his technique. Truly amazing! I have had a ton of massages and he is very very talented. I will be back regularly!

Just to alert to everyone my first experience here and had a good waxing only problem is I did not read the fine print that gratuity is included so after tipping a generous amount I check out to find another 17% added on when I asked for it, to be removed they said could not be done.and the technician just walked away. So this is on me but they lost a customer bc of the way they handled it. Should be upfront and remind customers very disheartening

First off, this place is immaculate. So clean and really beautiful inside. The staff was really nice and everything was managed really well for Covid safety. My massage therapist Kimberly did an excellent job considering my back is one giant knot these days. Super happy I came here for my first massage in a year and a half!

Had a lovely experience here! I got a facial, brow wax and manicure. Loved all of it. The atmosphere was relaxing, professional, clean and everything a spa should be.

This was my first time going to Spa Space. Hands down one of the best experiences I've had. I'm so glad I decided to give them a go as my "treat yo self" birthday weekend treat. My massage therapist was receptive to my requests and made me feel comfortable during my session. My pedicure was just as relaxing and enjoyable. The overall attention to detail, both to me and to COVID protocols, was much appreciated. I would highly recommend. I can't wait to return.

When living in the city I would spend every weekend looking for the best spa services and best spa that would work for me. I found some great spas and enjoyed them. Immensely. When I moved to the suburbs about 25 years ago, I again was on the hunt. I found it with Renu. The services are spectacular and very thorough. Facials, massages, manicures and pedicures are all amazing.

I have standing appointments weekly. Isabella is wonderful, the new owner, and they have made it very cozy, peaceful and calming. The services and the quality of the products they use are outstanding. Prices are reasonable and certainly well worth the quality of service you get.

I usually keep my reviews short and sweet but I'm going to talk about this place forever so if you want the headline it's best service I've maybe ever had. This is so far from my first rodeo and I've been to so many spas that have left me deeply unimpressed in the recent past and this one just knocked it out of the park. The space is gorgeous.

The little shop when you first walk in is adorable and has really great products but also really cute jewelry and all kinds of things that I would actually want to buy. The changing room is gorgeous. Even the slippers were more comfortable than the hard plastic ones they usually give you. The service was heavenly and seemed to go on forever. It started with a dry brush, then moisturizer application, and while I was cocooned to let everything sink in she did reflexology on my feet, followed by a hot stone massage that turned me to a pile of gelatin.

When I got back into the changing room the selection of amenities was incredible and I was able to take the most amazing relaxing shower with a face mask and a body scrub and just anything you could possibly need. Honestly the shower alone would be worth the price of admission. This ain't your home bathroom. I already could've floated out of there and then they handed me a glass of champagne and I died. I'm coming back, I'm bringing my husband back, I am shouting about this place from the rooftops. If I could give them more than five stars I would.

A friend and I decided to have a girls spa day and I've been to spa space years ago and recommended this spa because I had a good experience in the past. We chose a spa package that included a 90 minute massage, a facial, manicures and pedicures. The massage was under mediocre. It lacked technique and after reminding my therapist to focus more on specific areas she still didn't settle in those areas for long.

The massage would have been a great way to set the tone for the rest of the experience but we both felt we wasted our money. The facial was amazing! Very relaxing and my skin felt amazing and rejuvenated afterwards! The pedicure was ok, just lacking in the pampering department. We were sent to a separate, more private room for the pedicures but had to walk to the other end of the spa for the manicures.

We would have preferred to stay in the same space. The mani and pedis felt a bit rushed and the tech kept talking about her next appointment and checking the time which made me keep checking the time, hoping she wouldn't mess up my nails trying to hurry to her next appointment. Her energy took away from the relaxation but I was pleased with the outcome.

Tried Spa Space again after talking directly with the manager- Felicia. Much better experience this time around with Latrice. Glad I have them a second chance!

Years ago my mother and I owned a full service day spa. Surprisingly I no longer make time for massages despite all the benefits I know they bring. Fortunately, I received a spa visit as a birthday gift. My experience at Spa Space may make me get back into the flow. There's a tranquil ambiance upon entering that set the tone for a relaxing experience.

The staff was friendly despite me being the last guest before closing. The changing room was clean and had a nice decor. The masseuse was professional and maximized our time. She didn't waste a second during the full 60 minutes. I wish I remembered her name to give a shout out. A glass of champagne was included with my birthday package and was the perfect way to end my day. I highly recommend. Check out Groupon for deals if you're a first time customer.

I am a little dissapointed with the place. I booked a facial for my birthday, mani and pedi. I reached at 10 am for my 10 am appointment. I was taken to the room and I changed so it was around 10.07am when I came to my room. The session started at 1015am and I asked my aesthetician if she had enough time to do upper lips and eyebrows and she said she did.

So we did that and my facial started at around 1025am and it was supposed to be a 60 minute facial but it ended at 11 am. She did a good job with the facial but paying 115$ for a 35 minute facial did not feel great. I told the front desk about it and they did not seem too concerned about my experience. I guess customer service is not the speciality here.

She told me that they are completely booked and that might be the reason for the rushed service. I had high expectations as the spa looked great and the services did sound good but they should not over book and give average service for such a high price. It would be better if they focus on quality of service instead of quantity of bookings.

The nail spa is wonderful! So I was treated to mega massage pedicure and vanilla almond mani as a Valentine gift. This would have been my fist visit to this spa. The location I'm sure is ideal for those working close the Fulton market or River West area. On entering the establishment, you sense you will be in for a treat. The gentleman at the reception desk was less than receptive, okay. kinda "bitchy", but everyone else was pleasant.

My services was done by Kanice (not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly). She was the ultimate professional and I could clearly understand why she is the nail spa manager. I've had many mani pedi over my very long life and quite frankly, this service is one of two experiences I will recall; the other is back when I lived in NY and that is over 25yrs ago.

Will I be back. YES. Frequently. probably not for the following reasons 1) location is not within my commute or neighborhood 2) not within my budget to do on a regular.for special occasion and to have a luxury experience. Overall. I will be back not only for the nail spa, but to experience the massage.

This spa thought of ev-ver-ryTHING when it comes to amenities: contact solution, hair ties, flat irons, and so much more! Combination lockers, vanity mirrors, and robes/slippers are also at the leisure to start a relaxing spa day. Me and my best friend made an appointment for facials on a Saturday morning which we arrived a few minutes late to but they were accommodating with getting us prepped and started for the experience.

I had no complaints about my signature facial. It was refreshing from beginning to end! Con: The space is small. I'm sure it can feel congested fairly quickly especially since the welcome walk ins. They were limited seats in the locker room but there is an attached seating lounge with water, tea, and mixed nuts.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the mixed reviews- but I was definitely happy with my experience here. The spa itself is clean and actually quite big once you're inside. The locker rooms are spread out based on gender. There was only one other person in the locker room with me, and it was very quiet. I love that they have lockers without keys.

They also offer a variety of mirrors/products if you have something to look presentable for after your treatments. My massage was truly the standout experience. If you haven't been here and are just generally wanting a massage- get the space ritual. It offers a little bit of everything and is a great experience all around. I was so relaxed after.

My facial was just ok- for the price point I was expecting it to be in line with my massage, but I would probably not opt to go here for the facial alone. She didn't push product, which is always a plus for me when going somewhere. Overall experience was good- it is a little pricey, but if you're having a treat yo self moment, I would recommend.

This was my first pedicure of the year and my feet were rough. Tons of dead skins and toe nails over grown. And then I went to Spa Space and had the most decadent and indulgent pedicure of my life. I'm talking about the "Happy Feet" package y'all. Now let me be honest it does come with a $95 price tag but baaaaaby, it's worth every penny. It's 80 minutes of pure bliss and it includes: a foot soak, basic nail care (clipping, cuticle care, callous and dead skin removal), a sugar scrub and massage on feet and legs, cooling mask, hot towel wrap, a second massage with lotion, oils, AND hot stones.

And they top it off with a paraffin dip. It's GLORIOUS. If you ever wanted a pedicure with a ton more foot rubbing this is it! Then of course you get your toes polished as well. You're going to want to fall asleep but don't do it! You have to stay awake to fully absorb and appreciate the experience. Mina was my nail tech/pedicurist/therapist/Goddess lol she was so awesome.

She was so attentive and detailed. You could tell she cared about her work. (I've been to too many nail shops with technicians who obviously don't care about their jobs or you. Never again.) She scrubbed the mess out of my feet! I had so much dead skin and now my feet look brand new! Like I did one of those foot peels. Treat yo self! That's what this is. You don't get this every month but once or twice a year (perhaps even quarterly) just do it!

Got there a tad bit early and check in was smooth as can be. Was scheduled for a 90 minute deal. 30 minute scalp and shoulders, 30 minute reflexology and 30 minutes. Amazing! On my list of things to slow down in a city that's moving so fast.

I made a reservation for the signature hour massage and the moroccan scalp massage. Since they were running some kind of "special" I basically got the scalp massage for $15.00 instead of $45.00 and it included a bottle of the remaining moroccan oil for future use! I love the atmosphere here.upon entering you sit at the bar and are offered complimentary coffee, tea, or water while you fill out your form designating your health information and what parts of the body you want the massage therapist to address.

Then you are given a tour of the spa space where you can secure your belongings in a locker, get a pair of sandals, a robe and relax in an attached room with magazines until your massage therapist calls you in for your treatment. Very serene.the entire experience. I had "the best" massage ever in which it was the first time that every single muscle in my back, neck, shoulders, and arms were completely at ease and very, very relaxed after the termination of the session.

My massage therapist was Allegra and I would highly recommend her. During the massage there was acoustic music playing.ironically the first song was The Eagles "Hotel California" which I was surprised at.no vocals.just acoustic/classically done. I thought it was funny-but then it ventured into a "loop" of classical music which was somewhat relaxing.(that is my only complaint).

The scalp massage was nice and my hair was shiny and smooth for several days after.the moroccan oil was therapeutic to the senses as well. At the end of the massage session, the therapist Allegra met me outside with a huge glass of cucumber infused water that was crisp and refreshing! Huge selection of spa products were available for sale.but no pressure to buy.

The showers and spa space after was clean with complimentary combs, lemongrass infused shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner.plenty of clean towels.even mouthwash was available. I would go back in a heart beat and repeat!

Overall: great space to go for a mani/pedi, but it's a bit pricey! I had a gift certificate to Spa Space from a coworker and decided to use it before a weekend out of town. My certificate was for the "Signature Manicure", a standard manicure (valued around $25) but I added the No-Chip option which was an additional $20. The facility was very calm, I'm used to more lively nail salons so it was a different atmosphere for me.

I did enjoy the cucumber water and candy snacks they offer to customers as they wait to be called go their appointment. It's not a huge perk but it was a nice bonus to sip on something refreshing as I waited. My nail technician was good at what she did, but wasn't very personable. Once again, I'm used to the nail technician asking about me and engaging in conversation (because that's how you build clientele) and she only spoke to me when she needed me to move my hand or something concerning the manicure. Overall, without the gift certificate, I probably wouldn't go back, but it was a nice treat for a gift certificate experience.
