Healing In Motion A phrase to live by. If we continue to do the same things that don't seem to be helping us, how can real change ever happen? I speak both as a professional and from my own personal journey. I enormously benefited from myofascial release (MFR) and Pilates. In my case, I was trying to address long-term low back pain and limited ability for transitional movements such as getting up from a chair or rolling over in bed. Change requires dedication, discipline and someone who knows how to teach and guide you through that change.
Services
Since 2005 Healing In Motion, PLLC has been offering myofascial release whether it be through our wellness program or through insurance based therapies. Many people have benefited from myofascial release and the added self treatment programs that are a part of the John F. Barnes, PT myofascial release program.
At Healing In Motion, PLLC, we provide Myofascial Release as taught by John F Barnes', PT. This technique has been helpful for many people all over the world who thought they had to suffer from pain on a daily basis. It is a technique that applies gentle sustained pressure where the hands are placed reaching deeper and farther than the muscles of the area being treated.
Come see us in our 2nd location in Novi, MI! Lisa will be working out of this location a few days a week while continuing to work at the Ann Arbor location. We hope this will provide more opportunities for people to receive skilled myofascial release.
Since 2016, in addition to myofascial release we have been offering equipment based Pilates. Lisa received comprehensive training with Polestar Pilates. This has been a worthwhile addition to our offerings as building awareness in the quality of our movement, muscle awareness and movement strategies can contribute to an increased overall sense of well-being.

Highly recommend Lisa for miofascial release. I came to her with a chronic muscular imbalance in my neck and left shoulder from getting electrocuted. I had tried many things from physical therapy and acupuncture to deep tissue massage and cranial sacral therapy. Continued seeing Lisa for 6+ months as every visit always felt like it was contributing towards slow & steady progress (and/or reversing negative trends that sometimes developed). Lisa's in depth knowledge of human anatomy added a lot of value to her treatment as she often found ways to trigger, release, or re-balance obscure muscles and the relationships between them. Having experts like Lisa around is a real gift to healthcare in the Ann Arbor area. Lisa is often humble, but she really knows her stuff. If you're looking for solutions to chronic muscle issues and haven't tried MFR, give Healing in Motion a try!

Amazing! Even after just a few sessions, there are definite results, results also verified by my pilates trainer. Seriously, if you are considering this - and I HIGHLY recommend that you do - go to Lisa at Healing in Motion. You won't regret it. She's a great person too! (Also, you need to know that you don't have to have a big problem to benefit from this. Mine are all minor but "fixing" them will have an effect as I age; I am certain of that. My gait has become better. That's pretty important in the long term.)

I have had back pain, sometimes immobilizing, for five years. In the beginning, I needed narcotics, anti-inflammatories, and bed rest to tolerate symptoms. Now, I undergo myofascial release by Lisa twice a month, exercise daily, and take non-narcotic medications. If you are looking for a good myofascial release therapist, try Lisa Wiley at Healing in Motion PLLC. She is the best therapist I have had.
