We are an Asian wellness center located in Chicago, Illinois that focuses on the mental & physical well being of an individual, using techniques that have been practiced throughout Asia for many generations. Our bodies experience opposing energies throughout the day. These forces can cause the body to be exposed to blockages in energy flow which develop headaches, fatigue, body aches and memory disruption.
Our therapists individualize the massage experience to release these blockages. The idea is to proactively prevent energy blockages in the body, maximizing energy flow & allowing ones body to be in balance.

Would not recommend. Went here today because I just wanted to get a last minute massage. Mistake. Normally a spa would ask if youd like some fresh water prior, , me, nothing. Place was pretty dirty. Upon entering my room I was requested to wash my hands and lay on the table. While washing my hands I noticed several paint chips by the sink and I immediately felt unclean.
When I looked into the bin that would normally house a customers clothes it was clear that this hadn't been cleaned for days, so much dirt. You'd think they'd at least dump out the dirt if they wouldn't vacuum it. Then the massage. I had put firm for my preferred pressure but my God, it hurt. I requested 3 times for a lighter pressure. I was told okay, and that was it.
Not one time in my massage did my "therapist" ask how the pressure was or what could be improved. The room was way too warm; I felt so gross just sweating there. I left in more pain than I came in. Worse, I thought I was getting a 60 minute massage and it turned into a super painful $150 90-min massage. Normally I'd expect calming tranquil sounds to accompany the massage. Songs would end with more than 30 seconds between each one.
I would constantly hear my therapist shaking the table behind her as she continued to apply far to much pressure on my back. Too long, didn't read version: terrible. Don't go here. Why I didn't give this 1 star? I don't know, I feel somewhat bad. But dang. Would recommend Hand and Stone in Lakeview though

I've been here a handful of times now for a deep tissue massage and always had a very positive experience. I feel heard when I express my needs - everyone I've been worked on at this spa has taken me seriously. As a tattooer I have lots of upper body tension so this kind of care is very important to me.

From the start of the booking through the massage itself everything was done professionally. The manager Julie was able to schedule my massage within a week! On the day of my visit I completely the intake form and listed my area of attention and my goals. Michelle was my therapist. She was fantastic! I had an individualized one hour massage. All my problem areas were addressed. I felt great afterwards! I will be returning as it's only 1 mile from me! Thank you Julie and Michelle for a great experience! Love the atmosphere too!

Charged for full session despite not receiving a massage, completely unreasonable about appointment oversight, completely unwilling to do anything besides charge me the full fee for a massage I did not receive.cancellation policy not communicated verbally or ANYWHERE on their website. In response to the owner: I won't be getting a massage--probably for many more years, again--despite doing hard physical labor outside every day--because I cannot afford one usually.
This was a gift from my mother that you refused to even comp me part of or allow me to reschedule. It was an honest mistake and charging people over $100 for services not rendered without communicating that is the policy clearly is an extremely bad business practice, as is using the language of "taking care" and "being well" sarcastically in your obviously spiteful response.

Be Well is just the best. I'm fairly convinced Michelle is a witch (a good one) or at least a magician. Julie is always sweet and accommodating when I request appointments and during my post-massage haze while I chug water in the reception area. I have never actually reviewed anything online before but want to shout from the rooftops how incredible they are and how much they've improved my physical and mental well being.

Felt super refreshed after the couples deep tissue massage. Be Well has a great facility with a sauna beforehand (get there 30 minutes before your message) and a steam shower after the massage. The massage therapists were receptive to the problem areas we wanted to focus on and gave a fabulous massage experience. Reasonable price, and great massage -- would recommend!

This is the best 60 mins massage I ve ever had. Michelle was very professional and skillful. She listened to my concerns and tailored the whole massage to my specific problems. The pressure was consistent and warm. Not too much, nor too little. Just perfect. There were a couple point where it was particular tense, she would do deep breath with me, which was very calming and safe. And she does not talk to you all the time, and give you your moment which I am very grateful of z Would definitely come back.

Margaret is a SAINT. I got a 60 minute deep tissue from her and left feeling so refreshed. She really listens to exactly what you want and focuses on those areas. She pays attention to pressure and makes adjustments based on preference. I will absolutely be going to see Margaret again. The reviews about the kids running around upstairs are true, but it didn't bother me, I wasn't trying to sleep or anything so after a while I kinda just blocked it out.

I love the small cozy vibe of the place. I had Corey, who was very professional and attentive to my needs. I felt very relaxed and was extremely comfortable with the experience. I was slightly nervous at first but Corey eased my concerns. I cannot stress how great Corey was. Well, I can stress at all, since I've been! Awesome experience!

Absolutely amazing! I have been here twice - one massage with Margaret and one with Michelle - both were wonderful. The set up is very simple, but once you are on the table the aromatherapy, music and dim lights set the mood. Both therapists were incredibly knowledgeable, offering tips to avoid my back pain in the future. Hands down the best massage place in the neighborhood. I will be returning soon!

I had a hot stone massage here and it was pretty awful. I felt like the woman was rushing thru everything. She was loud with the top of the metal stone water lid several times. It's tile floors in there so you hear every footstep and she rolled a chair over when I'm supposed to be relaxing. It's was just so not relaxing due to the environment. The music playing was interchanging between jazzy sex music, music you would hear in a drama movie, and not relaxing tones.
The lights were flicking from dim to bright the entire hour and she never tried to fix it. I've had many massages and just the way she uncovers me (I think she looked too!) to put an extremity out for the sheet, it was very unorganized and not the relaxing professional experiences like I've had elsewhere where they carefully tuck the blanket in and carefully lift it as to not wake you.
She was messy and seemed almost angry like the way she moved the sheets. It ruined my relaxation every time she flipped a blanket like she didn't care if I was relaxed. The worst part was the part I was looking forward to the most, the stones. Kudos to her for handling rocks that hot in her bare hands but I think they need a way to measure the heat better or communicate with the client like they do when asking if they like a massage with a firm, medium, or soft pressure.
Ask if the client is sensitive to heat. I don't think I am that sensitive but I was getting BURNED. If you are moving a hot rock all over my skin, it's a different experience when you lie that hot rock in my back to stay there. It gives off all its heat to that one place. It's HOTTER than when it's in motion on my skin. I kept spazzing when she would leave them in my back and she would just wait and keep trying and then eventually asked (with a tone too!) is it too hot? Yes!
Communicate before you burn me! The massage was okay but she was an awful facilitator to relaxation and I think my safety. Even though the heat from the rocks hurt, I think my biggest problem was the lack of focus (or respect) for relaxation. That was constantly interrupted.

After suffering for weeks with a sore and tight upper back, I decided I needed a massage. And thanks to Yelp, I found myself here. Quick, easy, and responsive via requesting an appointment through Yelp. It's a small, no frills place. But it's welcoming and has all the things that really matter. The massage therapist I had was AMAZE. Super nice, perfect amount of pressure, and thorough. I opted for the 90 minute massage and it was oh so relaxing. (And my back is 110% better.) So yeah, this is a good spot for a massage. And the prices aren't bad either.

I checked out Be Well. because I had been experiencing severe back and shoulder pain. I was desperate to get in for a massage, in hopes that it would ease my pain. The place was very clean, the masseuse was kind and focused on my problem areas, and I was overall content with my experience. My pain, while not completely gone, definitely decreased post-massage.

My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage here recently. I was very impressed with this spa and the amenities it offers. Booking was easy- right through the Yelp app. After arriving for our appointment, we filled out some paperwork and then were shown the changing room. We were given robes and flip flops to change into. The robes weren't very good quality and itchy. Next, we spent some time in the dry sauna room; tea and water was provided.
Then starts the massage- both of our therapists were absolutely incredible; by far the best massage I've had in Chicago. After finishing up, there's a steam shower to use which was a nice touch. The only other thing I didn't like about this place is it's underneath an apartment and there were incredibly loud children running around the entire time of the massage. It made it really hard to completely relax hearing screaming and stomping.

I live in Washington D.C., but I frequent Chicago a lot. Without fail during my trips I always make time for a trip to Be Well. I suffer from backaches from work and unfortunately, my masseuse retired in Virginia. Low and behold I happened to stumble upon this place during a walk and it has been on my list of "things-to-do" while in Chicago. I always request Jen when I come here.
She will take the time to listen to your issues and even during the massage will ask if there are any adjustments to pressure she can make or temperature. I leave relaxed and less tense every time. I can only say that the first 20 minutes of the massage are amazing because by the latter half of the one hour massage I'm usually asleep. :

Great massage! My spouse and I did deep tissue couple's massages last month, and I'd most definitely return. I asked for a firm touch and she certainly delivered. Mine was an amazing massage. He was so relaxed that he fell asleep in the middle of his. His light snoring was distracting me from my relaxing! My single only complaint was that since I didn't have my stuff with me (it was in my locker), I couldn't take full advantage of showering after.
I could rinse my body of the massage oils, but I had to avoid getting my hair wet. They had a brush in there, but public hair brushes? No way! PS: The steam shower is wonderful.

Excellent massage that I really enjoyed. Mood was set correctly and aromatherapy was pretty great. The massage therapist was nice, helpful, and thoughtful. However. They were situated beneath an apartment where kids were running around. Imagine you're trying to shut your eyes and all you can hear is gentle rolls of ocean water tumbling into the *Stomp, Stomp, Stomp*. Lol You get the point.
Love these people and want to support them, but their upstairs components really need to show some neighborly respect for their business. Massage Therapist - 5 Location and Sound - 2

What a great spa experience! My boyfriend took us here for a couples massage and every part of the service was relaxing. They tell you to arrive about 15 min early so you can use their dry sauna before your massage, so make sure you take advantage of that. Then your therapist will discuss what you'd like to focus on during your massage. After an incredible hour long massage you'll take a steam shower that's so nice you won't want to get out. This was truly a wonderful experience all around!

I just found my new favorite massage therapist - Chisato. She applied perfect pressure, smoothness and pace, after a brief chat over what I'm looking for. Felt amazing! Also, I love Shiatsu massage, so getting a combination of Shiatsu and Swedish is simply the best, in my opinion. There might be cheaper places in the area, but honestly, this one is worth it! Great service all around - booking, greeting, massage! I'll be going again!

My husband and I had a random day off so decided to pamper ourselves. Like the other reviews had mentioned, the amenities were lovely. Sauna before the massage and a steam shower at the end to top it off. We ended up staying there for a total of 2 hours (60min massage) which was really nice. My massage therapist was attentive and paid attention to small details, which I appreciated.
For example, she used the sheet to massage my feet instead of touching my feet and then massaging my face (ha, a pet peeve of mine). We will likely be back however because it was a little pricey (for the area), would have to wait for a special occasion to justify it. Overall, would recommend!

Best massage my fiance and I ever had. Make sure you get there 15 min early for a couples massage to enjoy the private sauna (with some tea). The massages with Margaret and Chisato were amazing, they hit every part we wanted to focus on with perfect pressure. They ask you a couple times throughout the massage to see if you want more or less pressure.
They give swedish massages, not like the chinese reflexology places that torture you. After the massage you get some water and get to take a steam shower with legit japanese shampoo/body wash. For those who haven't had a steam shower before, you actually want to turn on the water too, it's not just steam. I stood there for 5 minutes with steam before I realized that. It's a little pricey $200 for a couples massage (10% off for first time customers), but great for an anniversary or special occasion. If you're looking for a couples massage, this is the place!

You come here for a massage and you will definitely be happy! Since it's the holiday season my gf purchased us a couples massage and I've been on three or so massages before but this was definitely the best. First, they had us store our clothing in lockers and provided us with robes. We were able to meet our masseuses who greeted us kindly.
Following that, they have a private sauna room where you can be with your partner and get relaxed for like 15 minutes. This was novel and I've never heard of/ seen a private sauna room like it--pretty cool! Afterwards we each got to choose our masseuses and tell them individually what we wanted. I asked my therapist, Cory, to focus on my shoulders and needed some help with my stomach too.
He did everything with great pressure and spent a good amount of time on the target areas I asked for work on. It's awesome being accommodated! After the massage, they follow it up with a nice steam shower with Japanese shampoo and body wash. Again, it was unexpected to have a shower like that and it was so relaxing. Be Well really does a fantastic job making you feel pampered and it would be hard to top the kind of experience you get here.

Excellent experience. My husband and I made an appt for the couples' massage. My masseuse, Zoe, was fantastic, as was his (whose name escapes him). They were both tentative to the areas we requested, without forgetting about the rest of the body. After, they lead you to your separate shower rooms, where you can sit in the steam and soak it all in, followed by a rain shower.
The rooms have all your showerly-needs: body wash, shampoo, conditioner, as well as a hair brush, hair dryer, lotion, q-tips, etc, for after. A refreshing end to an excellent massage. Also- make sure to show up early if getting a couples' massage, to ensure time for a steam before your massage. We got there right on the dot, so missed out on this part.
No fault to Be Well though, I'm a procrastinator. *Side Note- try to avoid booking your appointment through Whittl, and just go straight to the source. Whittl is a second-party company they use to book online appointments, and the text messaging/emails are out of control! 2 text reminders and an email yesterday, 1 this morning before the appointment, 1 DURING the appointment which asked, "Enjoying your Whittl appointment?", and a follow-up email from them thereafter.
My goodness, Whittl, SETTLE DOWN! If I were you, Be Well, I'd drop the second-party feature. Although your intent is convenience on the part of the customer, it's just straight-up annoying. In sum, Be Well is awesome! Will definitely book my appt (directly next time) soon!
