Massage involves working and acting on the body with pressure-- structured and unstructured. Stationary massage can be a recreational activity and/ or promote relaxation and well-being. A credit card will be required to reserve your appointment, and the spa must be notified no later than your appointment time, the day before if you need to make any changes. Failure to cancel will result in the full price of service being charged to your card.

I've been going to Lincoln Park Massage Spa for over 3 years and typically my massages have always been great. Unfortunately my partner and I recently went for a couples massage and left completely unsatisfied despite asking for harder pressure multiple times. We even asked at the front desk to have a deep tissue massage. This usually isn't an issue.
The massage was incredibly light despite us asking multiple times to go deeper. My masseuse barely massaged my lower back which I asked her to go harder on and she barely massaged my neck, which I've asked specified as a target area for my body over the 3 years I've been going here. Overall really disappointed to write this review as I've always loved this place but felt like a waste of $232 + tip.

Overall: this place was nice, and the people working there were very friendly. However, for the price we paid, we felt it was way overpriced, and left feeling a little ripped off. The ambiance in this place could use a lot of work, and if they plan on charging these prices, they either need to offer better quality services or reduce their prices to stay competitive.
My husband and I made an appointment for a 90-min couple's massage + a 30-min add-on body scrub. The total came down to $420, not including the tip. We thought this sounded pretty pricey, but figured if the quality of the massage and ambiance were good enough, maybe it would be worth it. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Ambiance-wise, a lot was off.
The room we had our massage in was tiny, and the masseuses were struggling to get around the room without bumping into things, each other, or us. They had a chair they were moving around in that was constantly running into things and was very loud. The lights were bright, and the room smelled very strongly of a cheap/chemical bubblegum scent. The decoration was fine, I guess.?
I was expecting the experience to feel a lot more luxurious given the price. They started off with the body scrub first, which felt odd because they had to constantly towel us off to get the scrub stuff off, and it made a huge mess. It got to the point where they had to ask us to get off the table, so they could change the sheets, which felt a little weird considering we were both just standing there in our underwear waiting for them to redress the mattresses (all in a tiny room with barely any space for standing).
The masseuses also kept either talking with each other or sometimes just leaving the room for minutes at a time, with no warning or even a heads-up as to why they were leaving. When they would come back in, they loudly burst through the door, which definitely didn't help keep us calm and relaxed. Although this sounds like a lot of negative points, I want to re-iterate that this massage was not bad by any means, and the workers were all very friendly.
My main thing is that for those prices, I just expected a LOT more in terms of quality of the experience and service. There are a lot of massage options in Chicago, and for this price you could easily find a much higher quality place. EDIT: Look at the response the owner left for this review. She does this to every review they get that isn't a 5 star, and resorted to personal attacks. If that's the business you want to support, then by all means.

I arrived in Chicago this morning and acclimated to the Lincoln Park area this afternoon. By day's end I was exhausted and had been wanting to get a massage so I called up Lincoln Park Massage based on reviews and they were able to fit me right in. The location was easy to find by foot using Google maps. When I arrived there was a note on the door that they would be right back and the receptionist that met me was pleasant and helpful.
It was an easy check in process and Susan, my massage therapist, met me immediately. We started right on time. At first, I was struggling with the warmth of the room but over time I became adjusted to it and it really help to relax my tense muscles. Susan started off with warming up of the muscles but then she really got to work. She was very good.
At times, she seemed like she was rushing a bit but then she would go get hot stones or a hot towel and neck wrap. She really fit a lot in in 60 minutes. The massage was only $59. They hold your reservation with a credit card but you can pay cash if you want after the treatment is over. Tipping in cash is requested or you will be charged a $2 service fee.
Not a big deal but important to know. The atmosphere is a little cheesy but your eyes are closed 90% of the time you are there so it really doesn't matter. The facility is clean and Susan washed her hands multiple times during the treatment (after working on my feet for example). I would highly recommend this spa.

Unfortunately I have to give one star. The masseuse put a rough blanket over my back during the massage so its roughness scratched my my back during the entire massage. It felt like scraping with steel wool instead of a massage and I had to stop it. Furthermore, the blanket covering my back prevented the masseuse from penetrating the muscles properly. I had to get up after 15 minutes and leave.

1) The secretary was really helpful when I called & we were able to take advantage of a great couples deal for calling in. 2) My boyfriend & I arrived a few late and they STILL took us in w/o problem. And we still got our FULL HOUR in 3) We had Chelsea and Mee (I believe), who both did a really good job & were both fun to be with. My BF plays sports and he felt so much better after! (Deep w/Chelsea) This was our very first massage and we both ended up liking this place. Thank you ladies. We will def. be back to visit again!

I had an amazing experience at this spa. I saw Leah (spelling?) who was so attentive to my needs. The spa in general was so cute and felt like I was walking into a familiar space. The waiting room was filled with plants and cozy seating while you wait for your massage therapist, the from desk was kind and organized, and the massage was so good. The bed was comfortable, the massage was thorough, and I was actually able to relax during the whole experience. Loved it!
