Yesterday was my first day of summer break (teacher) and I remembered that I had a gift card. I've been to all the milk and honey spas around Austin and I like the cozy waiting room here the best. I arrived early to take advantage of it. The receptionist asked me if I wanted a robe because I was only getting a facial. YES I WANT THE ROBE and the cucumber water and all the pillows in the cozy waiting room! LOL!
I didn't drive out and and spend all this Monday to wait in my Jean shorts and t shirt.;) I settled in with some cucumber water and some almonds and closed my eyes. I was greeted by my aesthetician named Cole and he asked me about my routine and what specific concerns I had today. I settled under the heated blankets and I took a big breath and relaxed.
The only thing I wish he had done was give me a play by play of what he was doing but that's probably on me. I could have told him that's what I wanted. Regardless, it was fantastic. The shoulder and neck massage were amazing. I jokingly asked him if he could feel the school year in my shoulders and he told me he could feel three! That sounds right. Go to Milk and Honey and ask for Cole. He did a great job. I left feeling refreshed and ready for summer!

I have been waiting to visit this place for a while! I've heard a lot of good things! So I scheduled my facial, which was a bit pricey but the company has a good name so I came in and decided to splurge. I arrived early for my appointment, I was greeted and shown about the ways! I really like the set up and the locker rooms and waiting lounge had amazing vibes.
I was greeted a few minutes late by my esthetician. She was nice. However, she told me my skin was amazing so she did not have to do much. I appreciated the compliment, but I also was disappointed because I didn't feel like I got my moneys worth. I've had facials prior to this at other clinics and they applied a lot more cleansers and provided more for the price.
My esthetician also did not massage me at all, which usually they do a bit. I just feel like my appointment was so unhelpful and useless since my skin was already "good, " I just didn't feel I got my moneys worth.

FYI This is my first yelp Review. I have never been interested in sharing or posting anything negative about a business. HOWEVER I'm pretty bummed about my experience at M+H. I had a lux hydra facial scheduled for today, and a massage a few days later. I received a call from my elementary age daughters school that she would need to be picked up early.
I had no choice but to bring her with me. She is def past the age of a child that would be bothersome & we came geared w an iPad & earpods & a face mask. Please know, I would prefer to not have my child w me during my one relaxing hour this week but I had no choice in the matter. I was quickly told that she could not come in and I would have to reschedule.
I even stated that we would not go in common areas (so no one would be disturbed) and just straight into the treatment room. That was also a no. This spa is located in a very family friendly neighborhood & I would assume most women getting treatments in the middle of the day are mothers. To have zero empathy for what it means to parent during these unprecedented Covid times seems very out of touch with their clientele and life in general. I had sent a handful of referrals their way but I def won't again and certainly won't be back.

I got a pedicure and IMO I probably should have gotten a more significant service. It's hard to justify the price and level of service because I feel I've received the equivalent for less. I loved the women who chatted me up and provided my service and I hope she is paid better than well otherwise I'd be upset with the cost. I gave her $20 cash, this review was in no way representing her service.

Veronika was the absolute best ever! She is so nice and full of energy. I've never had a facial before so I didn't know what to expect. Let me tell you that I fell asleep during the facial. I was snoring on cloud nine. I felt bad but she was so nice and assured me it's happened plenty of times. I bought a couple of the product that she recommended me and they work great.
My skin was clear after and the products I bought only helped me out more. I highly recommend Veronika to anyone looking for a great facial and an awesome pampering session. 12/10

Update: I intended to come update y'all about the quick response I got from management regarding my review. She was very accommodating and provided a couple of options to turn my experience around. I appreciated that, and her honoring my request. However, in spite of that and the politeness of the staff, I won't be going back. My nails in my mani are already chipping and it's barely been 24 hours.
I had held out hope when they didn't chip when I buckled my daughter in her car seat, but then I opened a can of coke and boom chip. That's pretty disappointing considering the mani was like $60. I'm also breaking out all over my legs and arms from the body scrub (I have fairly sensitive skin, but I assumed I'd be okay since they're a higher end salon, so that's on me).
But yeah, even though she resolved my initial pedi issue, and I really appreciate it, I won't be repeating this experience. However, they do have really good customer service. That's definitely the one fabulous quality they've maintained throughout my experience. I've heard about M+H for over ten years but have never wanted to splurge on myself for their prices. Well, after a year of Covid, I thought wth and made an appointment for not only me, but my mother and grandmother as well.
We went to their Arboretum location. Everyone was super friendly, which I honestly didn't expect because of the type of salon it is. We pick our colors and we wait. I knew off the bat we had staggered appointments, but they are supposed to be back to back and we didn't request any specific tech. They took a couple ahead of my grandmother and me, and then TWO other clients ahead of my grandma.
We were there for five hours. Five long hours. We all got manicures; I splurged for the Lux, my grandma got M+H, and my mom did the healthy gel. My grandma and I also got coordinating pedis. Everything is great (minus the skipping over my grandma repeatedly, but we were trying to be understanding since they're trying to accommodate as many clients as possible during covid). Now, it's been awhile since my last pedicure because of covid, so I knew my nails weren't tip top, but it's almost 2am and I can't sleep because of the amount of pain I'm in right now.
Three of my toes bled she was so rough with me, and my big toe is inflamed and really red, and it HURTS. Plus, my polish is starting to chip on that toe in the bottom corner because of how she left the side of my nail. I honestly wouldn't give a fudge about the chipping if I wasn't in so much pain that I'd rather cut my own toe off than keep experiencing this excruciating pain.
At first I thought it was just residual discomfort from her being rough since I hadn't been to a salon in 15 looooooong months, but it's been almost 8 hours since my pedicure and the pain is getting worse, not better. My grandma had a different tech and is fine. My mom only got a mani and my mani looks fabulous too. But my toe is literally hurting so bad that I can't sleep.
I paid for all three of us. After the tip, it was $315. I've had mani-pedis since I was like 10 at least. I've never spent that much, and have NEVER been in this much pain. And I've gotten a pedi with a broken pinky toe before. This is ridiculous. I'm relieved they couldn't book our next visit now because I'll just go back to my regular place since I'm fully vaccinated and I won't have to leave my daughter at home for over five hours if you include travel time.

This place is what every single person needs to reach bliss. To make this short and sweet so we actually help new guest, Milk + honey have perfected client servicing and the stereotypical intimidating Luxe Spa atmosphere. You feel welcomed, beautiful and the the reason that I keep coming back is you feel the trust. Not one product one of the gals recommended have I not loved.
I truly thank this place for making me more confident and for making every apt exhilarating! Specifically at this location Sarah, and the beautiful woman with a black bob and amazing ink on her arms were amazing and I hope to see them again when I am back in town.

Beware of their nail polish product it turned my nailbed permanently ORANGE! I spent $100, not including a tip on their regular mani and pedi and four days later I removed the polish to unveil my new orange nails. I immediately called Milk and Honey to see what they could do to fix my nails, they told me I had left the polish on too long, it had only been four days, then they said to come in, so I did.
They tried more nail polish remover, buffing etc, one nail tech asked if I had used any alcohol products, hand sanitizer or cleaning agents my reply was yes. It's flu season and I used hand sanitizer twice within the four days and when I worked out at the gym I sprayed and wiped the equipment with the solution provided by the gym, which contains alcohol.
The nail tech said that's what reacted to the nail polish. The nail tech said that "THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE." If they know that alcohol-based products react with their nail polish they have a responsibility to warn their clients. Their recommendation was to go home and soak my nails in a bowl of hydrogen peroxide and body lotion. I have done this several times with mild improvement.
It has been weeks later and my nails are still orange I now just need to let them slowly grow out to regain my white nailbed. Milk and Honey's fix to this problem was to paint my nails again for free, NO THANKS! I will never go back to Milk and Honey for another mani or pedi I don't trust their products. UPDATE: 3-2-20 I want to thank Alanah, the general manager at M + H, she has kept me well informed with this situation and has been as helpful as possible. She even reached out to Spa Ritual, the nail polish manufacture on my behalf. I appreciate her professionalism and commitment.

I had a great experience until i went to check out. The signature retreat i had booked online was supposed to be $309 but they ended up charging me an extra $21. My husband got me a gift certificate for the treatments of $309, this would have been a very odd amount if he had chosen to give me a certificate. I left but was very bothered so I checked their website and surprise surprise: the signature retreat is at $309 and not $330!
No need to say they won't be seeing me again even if all the girls who worked on me were good. It's only a $21 difference but it's for the principal. I booked online for the signature retreat: if they have a different pricing for that I should have been told. So beware when you book: they might add money to your treatment (s)

I was in great need of a facial (a deep cleansing), and I stopped in to the spa while walking about Hill Country Galleria. I made an appointment and was happy to learn they take clients on Sundays. My treatment was first class. I liked the quiet, modern interior, and the technician did a great job of explaining what she recommended at the start. The time passed quickly; I could feel my skin "waking up" as the facial went along.
My skin needed to "breathe, " which meant having all those dead skin cells removed, and my pores opened up. I had not had a "real" facial in many months (I consider them to be a type of medical treatment, actually). I'm so happy I stopped in! Much better now.

Facials - Kari is AMAZING! I've had 2 different facials done by her (the signature facial and the ultrasonic) and they were both wonderful. She is so good at what she does AND she gives recommendations for which facial to get next - based on how your skin looks, etc. from your last one. She is INCREDIBLE - highly recommend. Massages - Mario is super awesome, informative, and skilled.
My husband gets the deep tissue massages with cupping and the difference in his back muscles. is honestly wild! Mario also helps my husband figure out why he is having specific tightness/pain and gives recommendations on ways to continue healthy living/muscle health. 10/10 - would recommend!

I bought my Mom a spa day here for Mother's Day and she was STOKED. She got a facial, massage and pedicure. She loved them all, and it was an awesome way to spend a 4-hour chunk while I was at work. Score! It was a little hard to find, and when I tried to call I got an answering machine so that didn't help. My GPS took me to the wrong spot in the Hill Country Galleria.
I was saying bad words. But that's not Milk and Honey's fault. I chose 4 stars over 5, because my mom said whoever did her facial rambled on about a bunch of personal stuff the whole time. "my stepfather kicked me out." I think when you get these types of services, it's important to follow the lead of the client. Some like to chat, some don't want to hear it.

After an intense education course i decided to treat myself to a spa day. i had walked my milk and honey often and thought maybe one day i would go. setting up an appointment was a small hassle when trying to set up a spa package with multiple services. the person who scheduled the appts was friendly and accommodating. was pretty excited to go as i love the idea of being pampered and catered to. the check in was easy and i was given a short tour. the decor was elegant and made me feel like i was in a luxury place. i had a massage, facial, mani and pedi. the massage was great, just the right pressure. i might sound like a dick for saying this but, i appreciated that she didn't talk to me. the woman who gave me a facial did what all good customer service people do, she let me talk about myself. she was sweet and really enjoyed her job. my skin was amazing after my facial. now this is where the 4 stars come in. the woman who did my mani and pedi didn't really talk to me. i guess one could say that it isn't her job to entertain me, but paying the small fortune that i did, conversation would be nice. in short, i would go back

Who doesn't love a little Milk and Honey every now and then? Just sounds inviting, doesn't it? Lol. Facility: Nice all-inclusive spa (hair salon next door). Very friendly front staff; easy booking and flexible hours. Cool, sleek decor. Clean changing room, fluffy robes, a few toiletries, nothing particularly fancy. Great lounge area. Extra large comfy sofas, soothing lighting, a few light snacks and several beverages to choose from (cucumber water to champagne). Services: Full service salon with comparable prices to similar setups. Mani/pedi room on the smaller side. Pedi chairs literally "pedestals" you have to climb up on.
Not message chairs, but rather little nooks with huge fluffy pillows. Each pedi kit is sterilized and prepared for every person. They use a really neat stainless steel callus remover that has disposal strips on it - works very well (have for sale in lobby). Can personally recommend Nita. M+H Signature Massage: Super quiet and relaxing private message rooms. THE BEST message I have had in Austin. Was lucky to have booked with Janeese.
She should be renamed "Lady with Magic Hands!" 1000 stars! Without any instruction, she knew exactly where to touch and what pressure to apply to each area of my body. Very personable and super talented. Pure nirvana post-message. My husband noticed how happy and relaxed I was and went the very next day to purchase a gift certificate for me (sooooo sweeeet).
Happy wife, happy life.;) Overall: I will certainly return for more of the body treatments they offer! Conveniently located in the Hill Country Galleria, parking is a breeze, and you can shop and/or dine before or after your treatment(s). Bonus!
