Equilibrium Massage Therapy was established October 2008 by Rachael Ostrander. As the name implies, Equilibrium is all about balance. The mission of Equilibrium Massage Therapy is to help people achieve some level of balance in their lives. The only way to achieve balance is to be proactive in our efforts. Any proactive health care plan is multifaceted and contains many different elements. Healthy eating habits, regular exercise and regular checkups with your primary health provider are all important elements of your plan.
Massage is a wonderful and necessary addition to your proactive health care plan for many reasons. Massage can provide benefits for your body that you can not get on your own. Some of these benefits include; easing musculoskeletal pain, release of trigger points, increase range of motion and help prevent injury. Regular massage can even improve immune response, promote healthy sleep patterns and decrease anxiety. Massage is also an excellent way to increase body awareness.
Rachael Ostrander holds on Associates degree in Fine Art from Fulton Montgomery Community College. She holds a Bachelors degree in Studio Art from SUNY Albany. She attended the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy in Albany and graduated with a certificate in Massage Therapy. She also holds a New York State License in Massage Therapy.
On a more personal note, she lives with her fiance and 2 dogs in Amsterdam New York. She loves nature and enjoys fishing, hiking, and camping. She also has a love for horses and has ridden since she was a young girl. She hopes to make horses part of her career in the next 5 years by taking courses in Equine Massage Therapy and veterinary technology.
