Medicinebow Bodywork & Oncology Massage
Personal Bio
Cindy, a native born Colorado Canyon girl and 5 year flight attendant for Horizon Air, longed for a more grounded, home based lifestyle following 9-11.
In 2006 she moved to Tempe Arizona to attend the Professional Massage Therapy program at the Arizona School of Massage Therapy and considers herself a Life-Long Learner!
Some of her hobbies are Organic Gardening, the study of herbal medicine, pottery, hiking, mountain biking and spending time at home with her husband and their 4 furry kids.
Professional Bio
Cindy is dedicated to her profession and passionate about helping her clients.
After earning her certificate in Professional Massage Therapy, she became licensed in Arizona, and received her National Certification in Massage Therapy & Bodywork. She was soon hired by an On-Site Chair Massage company who put her to work at Health Fairs & Corporate offices throughout the Phoenix & Scottsdale area. She then continued her education by attending the Master Bodyworker Program in Salt Lake City, Utah where she received Advanced training certificates in Eastern Acupressure application, Advanced Cranial Sacral Therapy, Kinesiology, Myokinetic Techniques and Hydro Stone Therapy.
Since then, she’s taken numerous workshops for continuing education, (a requirement to maintain her status as a Board Certified Massage Therapist), with workshops such as Advanced Techniques for Hip Dysfunction, The Lumbar Spine, Assessment for neck & shoulder treatment, Lymphatic Massage, Geriatric massage, Deep Tissue Techniques for Therapeutic massage, Sciatica and Aroma Therapy.
In January 2017, Cindy returned to school at the Colorado School for Healing Arts, to complete the 110 hour Oncology program that included an externship opportunity at Porter Hospital. She was provided real world experience by doing massage on the hospital floor which included the infusion center, radiation center and hospice; this opportunity has opened many doors for her to partner with the medical community.
She considers herself a well rounded therapist, and enjoys giving Deep Tissue Massage as well as many of the modalities she has learned over time. Her specialty is Nurturing, Therapeutic Massage, while holding space for those who are medically frail and adjusting to their new normal of life both during and/or after a life threatening illness.
