Combining my science-based training and experience, with a focus on YOU (your needs, goals and preferences), I provide you with exceptional results for your investment and trust. Most clients simply choose a Custom Therapeutic Massage, allowing me to select whatever techniques I think will work best.
My name is pronounced "Mar-lay-nuh." A native of Germany by birth, I was adopted by an American couple and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen around the age of four. We lived in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley at that time, when my love for the mountains and gentle countryside was established. I now live in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and I love my "Almost Heaven" home.
That's why I offer both relaxation and medical massage therapy, so you can feel and function better. In practice since 2006, I have an intuitive touch and can hone in on and address whatever is contributing to your tension or discomfort. A blend of techniques that will reduce stress, tension or pain.
Tired of nagging aches? Need to slow down? Or maybe you're dealing with months (or years) of chronic discomfort, lost range of motion, depression, anxiety, or other medical conditions. When left untreated - or treated unsuccessfully - these issues often become life-limiting. It's important to avoid massage if you have any signs of illness - cough, sneeze not caused by allergies, fever, chills, sore throat, fatigue and achiness, etc. - no matter how mild or how long you've been sick (yes, you're still contagious even in the late stage of a cold or flu).
Across from the County Courthouse and the West Patrick Garage, 1.5 blocks west of Market St. Carroll Creek Garage (1/2 block away) is located at 2 South Court Street and is accessible from South Court Street and Citizens Way. Meters can be paid using coins or by using the Parkmobile app for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7, and Blackberry.

Literally the best massage experience I've ever had. I've had two massages with Marlene and both times I've either fallen asleep or gotten to that delicious twilight relaxation. She provided immediate relief for my TMJ-like symptoms, and the relief lasted for days after. She also talked about ways I could relax my muscles on my own between sessions, which has been super-helpful.
I liked that she has a treatment plan in mind, but always checks-in to make sure I'm in agreement or to see if my needs/preferences have changed. Highly, highly recommend her!

I am a farrier and suffer from a lot of back issues. Marlene has been nothing short of AMAZING helping me. I had my doubts that I would actually get any long term benefit, but I am shocked to say that her techniques have provided me with not only instant relief when I get off the table, but ongoing improvement as time goes on. She is very knowledgeable and skilled at providing pain relief!

This was my first experience with any massage therapist and I am afraid that Marlene may have set the bar too high! She was extremely professional and obviously very, very good at what she does. You can not set your expectations high enough for the quality massage you will receive at Frederick Massage Therapy!

Marlene is amazing! I am extremely grateful to her for relieving the intense back pain I had built up from pregnancy and nursing. She was extremely attentive and customized the massage to my needs. My experience at Frederick Massage Therapy was exceptional. After having shoulder pain and discomfort for quite some time I had tried acupuncture but it did not work for me. After one visit to Frederick Massage Therapy I felt so much better it was amazing. The bonus - Marlene works on TMJ - my jaw has never felt better - I have had my 2nd session and I am seeing fast results and know I am in good hands I call Marlene a Miracle Worker!

My experience at Frederick Massage Therapy was nothing short of exceptional. It was my first time getting a massage, and I felt great afterward. She even gave me exercises and stretches to practice so that I could help relieve some tension at home. Though I am already aware of the things I SHOULD be doing at home (I am a chiropractor afterall;) ), I am thankful to know that when I refer her my patients, she will be thorough and taking amazing care of them.
