Horrible customer service! Carrie was the massage therapist. Had to call a couple times to make apt, I then waited 2 months for the appointment. As I was getting ready to leave the power in my house went off. The whole city of tacoma and parts of Lakewood which the salon is in was out. What would of took me 15 min took almost 40 min to get there. I called and left a message letting her know what happened.
She said will not extend my service which I totally understand because she had another appointment. And has already marked it as used. I told her I will not use it can we reschedule? NOPE! Call Groupon your SOL pretty much.

I called this place recently for an appointment. It was a voice mail, and somebody sent me text messages and saying next opening is in September. It's May now. And I was suggested to call them to check cancellations. Do I need to put such effort to reserve this place? Did you notice one of google reviews stated "Tina" was good, and it's posted by somebody named Tina. I don't believe these reviews are posted by real customers.

I purchased a Groupon for 60 min aromatherapy massage. I called and left a voicemail with Carrie the massage therapist. After a week, I had not received a call back. I reached out to Groupon to verify phone number etc. Groupon said they would contact her and should receive a call back in 3 business days. After not receiving a call, I phoned front desk of spa and they agreed to relay message to therapist. Carrie did call me this time and said she had not gotten messages from me or Groupon.really?
I then decided to give her benefit of the doubt and booked my massage appointment. The massage was.different. The actual massaging time was great, but she would take her hands off me for minutes at a time between each body section and stopped to wash her hands a few times. This caused massage to be super choppy with no flow and was awkward. At the end of the massage, I laid there for about three minutes as she washed her hands and tidied up the room before she said she would meet me outside.
I came out of massage and she was busy texting on her phone. She then handed me her card which went directly in the trash. Would not recommend Groupon purchase or the massage.

Hoping to go back! Her mission in work is to give you the massage, she would like to receive. Soothing and incredibly relaxing with the right amount of pressure and touch. Lots of packages to choose from, I ended up having a back scrub added to my massage. All of her lotions and oils are naturally made by herself with paraben free items. Carrie's room is beautifully decorated, the massage bed has a heavenly plushness to it.
What I enjoyed the most is her washing her hands before she massaged my face after the body massage (there is a sink in the room). She is outstanding in communicating with you before the massage for appointments and scheduling you for your visit. I had no problem there at all.

Don't ever buy a groupon for massage here! I called them in May to schedule appointment for massage and they told me that the only time she has is in 2 month ( which is crazy) I said ok ( I thought that she is maybe good at it so she has a lot of customers ), two month later I went to Hawaii and almost forgot about my appointment but they called me a day before to remained me and I said that I can't make it so I asked them to reschedule and she said that she will reschedule me in two month later ( again!).
Finally when I got there all she did she rubbed the oil into my skin! I can't call it massage, cuz I didn't even feel anything! She never asked me how is she doing or if the pressure okay ( apparently that's cuz that was no pressure at all)! Horrible and never again!

Had a prenatal massage from Carrie - loved it so much that I set up two more for her 3 massage package! While I've had massages before, I wasn't sure what to expect as at 33 weeks I can't be on my belly. She uses pillows and has you on your side instead of a pregnancy table and on your belly, but was still able to get awesome leverage and applied just the right amount of pressure. I would truly recommend her and hope that I have a chance to try her again after I give birth!

I was excited to purchase a massage for my husbands birthday. However this ended in anything but excitement! I purchased a groupon for salon mairead. I called early in the morning to schedule an appointment. I was informed that the massage therapist was not in yet and that she would call me back to set something up. In the afternoon I still had not received a call so I called back. Margie answered the phone this time.
I explained that I was trying to set up an appointment with the massage therapist. She told me that Carrie was in with a customer and would call me back as soon as she was done. I received a call back a couple of hours later from Carrie. I explained that I was trying to set up an appointment on Saturday the 15th. She said she had one appointment left at 12:00.
I told her I would like to take it. She then asked me about the groupon rate. I told her I had already purchased it. That's when Carrie's attitude changed. She sounded annoyed that I had purchased a groupon. She said in order to book the appointment they had to have the groupon code. I explained to her that I was driving and that I would call her back in a couple of minutes with that number.
After we hung up I pulled off the road to look up the groupon number. I called back in less then 5 min and Margie answered this time. I asked for Carrie and she told me she was not available. I explained the situation to her saying she only had one more appointment and I would like to book it. Margie who would not book an appointment for me earlier informed me that she had just booked that appointment.
I was so frustrated because I knew she was lying to me. She then told me she could book for a later date. I told her my husband Is in the military, he is gone on deployment. He would come home for a short 2 weeks and then leave again. I explained his job does not allow him to take off during the week. I expressed my frustration to her about giving away the appointment when I had already expressed that I would take the slot.
She said people make appointments and then don't keep them, and that they would have needed a credit card number to hold the slot. I told her I could have given that to them but they never asked! I then received a call from Carrie who proceeded to yell over me when I tried to explain to her what I thought about the situation. It ended with me hanging up on her.
Thank goodness Groupon refunded my purchase. I was extremely disappointed in this business! They are very unprofessional and rude! I would also like to thank Hand and Stone Day Spa for gladly booking my husbands massage and honoring their coupon with nothing but a smile.

I live in Seattle but drove a little over a hour out of my way to visit this salon to get my hair done by Liz. She was refereed to me by a friend and long time client of hers. My girl friend said she did a good job on color and I was on the hunt for someone who could color my hair correctly at a reasonable price. The first time I saw Liz she promised me that she could strip the old color out of my hair and get it on the path to what I wanted to achieve.
My first appointment with Liz she was 15-20 minutes late even though I was her first appointment of the day. I was a little irritated but decided to let that one roll off my back. My second warning sign should have been the fact that she blew my hair dry each time with a comb attachment on the blow dryer! What professional does that?! It pulled my hair the whole time and she never once asked me if I was okay even though I was making horrific facial expressions and groaning the whole time.
The third warning sign should have been the fact that after being there for over 5 hours and her pumping my hair with so much product it felt like it weighed 20 pounds I could still see Grey hair on my hair line. My thought process was that maybe it might take one more session to get my hair where I wanted it to be so two months later I made a second appointment.
Two months and a headful of Grey hairs later I arrive at the salon 5 minutes before the agreed upon date and time and proceeded to wait a half an hour for her to even show up. She never did show up and the front desk lady/owner had no idea where she was and had to track her down. Liz had forgotten about my appointment and made some halfassed excuse as to why she couldn't be there.
She wanted me to come back later in the day or even another day. Needless to say I am and was livid. I drove over an hour and waited another half hour just to be told I needed to come back? No thank you. Please be warned, if you decide to come to this salon, avoid Liz.

I have frequently been going to Salon Mairead and Day Spa for at least 5 years. The service is excellent. The spa is always clean, classy, and in a convenient location in Lakewood, WA. If you need your hair, nails, a facial, or any sort of body treatment this place is to go. Carrie, one of the massage therapists, has "magic hands." I just recently purchased a special for a 1 hour facial and 1 hour hot stone massage. Carrie was very intuitive of areas on my back that are painful and gave those spots extra attention. I even received extra minutes ( what a treat). I felt like I was walking on cloud 9 when my massage was complete. I recommend this spa highly with no reservations!
