New Moon was opened in 1996 by Holly Dunbar, a Licensed Massage Therapist, Registered Herbalist, and Certified Aromatherapist. Our practice offers a range of effective massage and bodywork techniques, facials and herbal medicine consultations. The owner and founder of New Moon, Holly is a 1995 graduate of Baltimore School of Massage, and a 2000 graduate of East West Herb School.
Our practice aims to nourish mind, body, and spirit in a relaxing and welcoming environment. Our loyal clientele speaks volumes for the effectiveness of our work. An ionic foot detox is a safe process used to assist the body in removing toxins through the large pores of the feet. While detoxification through the feet is an ancient practice, this process utilizes a special machine which detoxifies the body at deeper levels than other methods. The detoxification process has been scientifically evaluated.

I had a massage this afternoon from Marcia at New Moon, and it was easily one of the best massages I have ever had! Marcia has a light touch, but it magically relaxed all of my knotted muscles far better than any deep tissue massage ever could. I visit this area from Pittsburgh about four times a year, and you can bet that a massage by Marcia will be on the agenda every time from now on!

I was given a gift certificate to New Moon by my supervisor. I scheduled an appointment and went for services today. They were all very inviting and friendly! My massage was relaxing and definitely a stress reliever. I would HIGHLY recommend you checking out this little gem located in LaPlata. They also have soaps, oils, and other handmade skincare items that you may purchase. What a way to begin my workweek!

Melanie is uh-mazing! You know how they say there are baby whisperers.well Melanie is definitely a masseuse (massage therapist) whisperer. Her business is very professional and organized. I arrived for my afternoon appointment about 15 minutes early to fill out some paperwork. Melanie was very friendly and I loved the storefront setup. There is an array of oils, soaps and medicinal vitamins and supplements.
I scheduled a 90 minute therapeutic, deep tissue massage. Melanie was so thorough with the questions she asked, to ensure you feel comfortable and throughly enjoy your massage. I was in heaven. The massage was magical! No kidding. I enjoyed the back and foot massage the best. She definitely knows what she is doing and her hands should be insured! I highly recommend her and will definitely be back! You won't be disappointed.
