I have been coming to main attraction since 2017 and have only had positive experiences. I am someone who has a very difficult time trusting people with my hair (I am that customer who has gotten upset and cried in a salon), yet I always walk into Mane Attraction with full faith. Jen is the only hair dresser I have been able to trust and have been coming back for 5 years! I am always welcomed at Mane Attraction and always have such a positive experience! Highly recommend this salon and it's wonderful staff!

I've been looking for a great salon for a few months now. I've seen their Instagram page and I gave them a try just yesterday. I am FLOORED at how professional their team is. They are so nice and sweet. The environment and atmosphere was welcoming and they really took such great care of me. Stephanie cut my hair and I was in complete shock when her magic was done.
She made my vision come to life. I am in LOVE with my cut. My hubby and kids absolutely LOVE it and I've already started telling my GFS about this place. This for sure is my new salon. I am not going anywhere else! I totally recommend and give it a hands down more than 5 stars!

I came in for a colour balayage with Nat and she was amazing! She was super attentive and took the time to explain every step of the process with me. I LOVE how my hair turned out. It looked even better than my inspo photos! I would recommend going to her 100%! The salon itself is bright and clean! And everyone there was so friendly and lively. I had such a wonderful experience - you can't go wrong with Mane Attraction!

Today was my first time having my hair coloured at Mane attraction (my hair is super dark and I went lighter) and my experience was one of the best i've had. I had the pleasure of having my hair done by Alyssa who I will now be going to when I need my hair done. Alyssa was super attentive and made sure I left with my hair looking so amazing and gave me exactly what I was aiming for.
I was a bit nervous beforehand because I had been going to the same hairstylist for years and it's been hard trying to find a stylist who can work with my type of curl pattern and is able to lighten my hair without any damage! But Alyssa made sure my needs were met and my hair felt and looked amazing. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new stylist. Definitely will be returning!

My experience here was so amazing! Stephanie is awesome and sweet. She does a amazing job with hair as well. I have been to a few salons before and I have never seen customer service like this one. I had orangish colour hair and Stephanie did a balayage for me. It looked so amazing. I drove specially from Ottawa to visit her salon (5 hour drive ) and I will do it again if I need to.
I usually don't write reviews and this is my first one but I had to because she did such a amazing job. If you want to be actually happy with your hair this is definitely the salon.

I had my hair done by Bianca. I came in with previous colored red haired that I had removed and was left with some green tinged at the ends. Bianca took her time to do a strand test then when my hair passed the test, We started my balayage. My hair turned out beautiful and I love the color! I'll be coming back to Bianca for my next session and let her work her magic.

My stylist Natalia was the best, she made my hair dreams of ashy balayage come true! Very knowledgeable and experienced, gave great suggestions on what would look good and worked magic to make it come true! Overall, just great vibes and amazing talent at this salon. Everyone i've met is super friendly, and welcoming. No pressure to keep up conversations or chatter away if that's you while you get your hair done. Booking is very easy, they recently switched to an online booking system, so based on how many hours are needed for what you want done, you can see what time slots/dates are available for all the stylist or if you want a specific stylist (highly recommend Natalia ).
Location is very easy to get to, on Main between Williams pkwy & Vodden, across the street from the Plaza with Giant Tiger & Platos Closet. Plenty of parking in front of the store and a great Portuguese Bakery in the same plaza if you want a snack or treat!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding recently and the technique they used was not up to makeup artist standard. They never asked us what skin type we have to adjust their products based upon what would last all day. My skin gets oily pretty fast when makeup is applied and since they didn't bother to ask, my face was so cakey by the time the wedding was about to start that I had to remove a good chunk of the makeup and fix it using the products I brought with me.
If I'm having "professional" makeup being done, I want it to last all day. There were nine of us needing our makeup done and three makeup artists showed up. Each artist spent a max of 20 minutes on each girl, which is not long enough to effectively do full coverage makeup. They did not use full coverage makeup, they didn't contour our faces in the slightest bit, they didn't bake our faces to set the liquids, and they didn't even use setting spray.
All of which are basic necessities in my book of wedding makeup. After the artists left, I had to go grab my setting powder and finish the makeup myself. One of the girls opted for fake lashes (she had worn them before) and the lashes started falling off two hours after being applied. She had to go buy her own eyelash glue to fix it throughout the day. Overall, I was pretty underwhelmed with how the makeup looked for the price we paid. The only thing I was really pleased with was the eyeshadow. The artists were really sweet but their technique wasn't up to par.

My experience with this company was extremely disappointing, and I feel as if they lied to me. Here are the bullet points of the overall process, from booking to final product. (1) The Lying: Upon booking I was asked, "What made you think of us?" I told them I was a Collinsville Student, and I remembered the women who used to go to their salon. The woman's response was, "The one with the picture of the lion on it?" I said, "Yes, that's the one." She replied, "How fun! Yup, that is definitely us." The day of my wedding she asks me the same question. Confused as to why I'm being asked this question twice, I provide the same answer.
Her co-worker laughed, and I asked, "Why is that funny?" The same woman's response was, "Because that's not us." The woman then informed me, "You must have been mistaken honey." Um. NOPE. Sure wasn't. (2) The Payment: I ordered hair and makeup service for five women on location. I paid for all services in full up front including taxes and transportation.
Not only did they ask for payment the day of because they were unprepared (which we quickly remedied) but they also tried to charge me an additional $20 "No-Show, " fee. I'm sorry, but the purpose of a no-show fee is to recoup from lost commission. When a patron prepays everything, then there is no lost commission. Finally, they were expecting a tip. I've been informed this is somehow still a standard in the business.

Thanks. (3) The hair: The one thing no one had a problem with was how their hair turned out. Everyone had an absolutely lovely hairstyle.
We did take issue with the fact that their blow-dryers blew the fuse to our room. Rather than wait for the fuse box switches to be flipped they escorted us in turn to the hallway where we stood naked in our robes and had our hair blow-dried in front of total strangers. (4) The Service: I was promised there would be four technicians. There were only three.
I asked if there were two for hair and two for makeup. She told me all four did both hair and makeup. I asked to create a profile for what each girl wanted, and to have a schedule. They said, "We'll start at 10 a.m. and have one technician for each girl, then do your makeup (the bride) last." I asked how long they would be with us, and I was told they would be with us from 10 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.
I asked ahead of time if they would be able to provide us with samples of our gloss, so we could retouch throughout the night. None of that happened. Three girls showed up, two for hair and one for makeup. They did my makeup second in a lineup of four women. I GAVE THEM a picture of me, full hair and makeup from two years ago, and said "This is what I want." My makeup looked okay by the time the girl was done, but it was NOT what I wanted.
She noticed I was unsatisfied and said, "I know it's not what you wanted, but I tweaked it to fit your theme better." NO, THE WHOLE POINT WAS FOR EVERYONE BUT ME TO LOOK DARK AND GOTHIC. (I had a Nightmare Before Christmas Wedding.) (5) The Technique: WHO doesn't use primer? Apparently this place doesn't, because the only one who received primer was me. WHO doesn't use setting spray?

I made appt over the phone with girl at desk for first time hair color with owner for Cut, color, highlights. I asked to talk to the owner to explain what I wanted, she was unavailable. I told her I did not want to go over 100. I'm use to paying 85. For same service. She said no problem, should not be no more then 100. Ok I made appt. Met the owner to do my hair, she cut & highlighted, I noticed my roots were still dark, I asked her she said oh you would have to get more color.
Well that is what I ordered, when making appt. She kept trying to get me to do a shag haircut, like hers. I wasnt interested. I like my long hair, I just wanted new bangs. I left with haircut the same as going in, highlights, brown roots and 165. Later. I'm not happy, will not recommend. No one in this area charged 165. For this! I did not go in for a wedding consultation. Which is what I think she charged me for. very crooked business. If I could give no stars I would.

I paid 76$ for mediocre work! They curled my hair.2 hours later. I looked like a wet mop! What professional doesn't use curl enhancer spray?! Can you please go to cosmo and pick up some kenra heat spray! I'm so angry. I actually want my money back! This is my best friend's wedding and I look like a mess! I will never recommend!

Today I took my husband's grandmother in to have Carla color, cut, and style her hair. She just turned 90 years old and has been a little self conscious about her thinning hair. Carla did a wonderful job at getting her to talk about what she wanted her hair to look like, and the color turned out beautiful. She was so happy with her new hair do. Thanks Carla!

I received horrible highlights here! I looked like a tiger, they were so striped and orange. Luckily I was able to get in at Regis Salon in the St. Clair Square Mall (which I highly recommend) because they weren't even willing to fix my highlights without me waiting 3 days to get an appointment. And even then, they called to move my color correction appointment - so glad I wasn't able to go back because I highly doubt they would have been able to fix their mistake.

Shame on you Yelp. There are PLENTY of good reviews for The Mane Attraction, as there should be! Please read on, People! I've been here many times, for updos, cuts, and styles. After meeting Valerie at a styled photo shoot in St. Louis, I've gone out of my way to drive to Edwardsville because they are so good at what they do. I've purchased makeup and styling products from them too. Highly recommend!
