Massage is beneficial in many ways, whether through someone else's touch, self massage, massage through movement, or massage through stillness (relaxation). It helps release old physical and emotional tensions, which distort our posture and movement. Awareness of tissue creates circulation. The body helps you become more aware of the areas you are focusing on.
We are a portal of the Tao; our present awareness is the portal! Moving our present awareness through tissue generates a field of energy; this is the juice our tissue needs and wants, which is why it responds to our awareness.

When I approach my clients at the beginning of a massage session, I connect to them in the present moment, as if looking at them for the first time. Swedish massage was developed in the 1700's by a Swedish doctor. Swedish massage has long been thought of as the first organized and systematic method of modern massage therapy in the Western world.
Zentherapy methods recognize that from birth to death, life is a flow of energy. This energy is shaped by our attitudes, emotions, and bodies. Zentherapy methods release the natural form of the body from the aberrations caused by physical, chemical and psychological traumas. The nature of the work is very deep, direct, and to the point.
These exercises belong to a very large family of Chinese internal arts designed to cultivate and store vital energy (Qi), promote longevity, and improve health. Through the practice of these exercises you will learn the mechanisms and mechanics of relaxed balanced movement. I teach a variety of classes drawn from Taiji, Qigong and Bodywork therapies.
In my bodywork practice and Taiji classes, I get to work with all kinds of people, from all walks of life, from the very old to very young. I have been able to see what kinds of postures, attitudes, and ways of moving produce pain eventually. So I try to help get people off the path to pain and suffering.
