Through the years, my kids and I have been to so many salons in Mercer County that I could write a "Best and Worst of Mercer County Salon and Spa" guidebook! I have spent ridiculous amounts of money, only to have my curly hair fall victim far too many times to the trendiest cuts/styles. By chance, I found Shannon C. at Robert James Salon and - wow! - she just knows how to properly trim/cut/style hair. Shannon listens and delivers.

With 25 years of experience, she knows what she is doing, and I highly recommend her. I promise, you won't be disappointed. (Plus, she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet :)

Always A+ Service. Been going here for years. Robert & Shelly are always honest and go above and beyond for their clients. Highly recommend Sharon P. as well. She is an amazing stylist who aims to please. Never disappointed by her work. She does an amazing job with cuts and color. I always look forward to catching up with her during my appointments.

I recently got a perm at this salon and it was such a wonderful experience. I thought that going into getting my first perm that my hair wouldn't hold up and I would be turned away. But instead they worked with me and made it happen. My hair is now amazingly beautiful and I have the stylist and owner to thank. This place is very professional and helpful.

Shannon is the best she does a wonderfull job especially with eyebrows and hair cuts. She hasnt done my highlights yet but im sure it will be fantastic. I give 4 stars only for the fact that they should sanitize more and enforce the masks with your employees i seen a few people in there today with no masks on covid is not a JOKE! But other then that its a very clean place to go staff is very friendly!

Everybody is excellent. From the receptionist to the stylists, always very helpful. The receptionists have fit me in and worked around my schedule every time. I have gotten color/cut/treatment from Nicole, Alex, Sherry, and Linda. I was beyond pleased with all of them and would be open to go to any one that works there because you can tell that everyone is well educated and knows exactly what they are doing. Thank you!

Horrible outcome! My daughter went there 2 days before prom and came out with chemical burns on her head. Resulting in blisters and open sores. When she went back for assistance she was told by the owner, Robert that this is totally normal, she will be ok these things happen. Meanwhile my daughter is in tears, in pain and now stuck taking ibuprofen and placing aloe on her open sores.

No compassion what so ever. When credentials are requested they are refused by the owner to provide them. By law they should be presented and available on sight. For someone who claims to have 35 years of experience he demonstrated complete lack of. And the hairstylist who did my daughters here, Liz never came out to apologize. Further investigation of this company will be definitely request! This type of service needs to be stopped and people should be held accountable.

I always have a good experience with Shelly! I always like my hair when I leave & she shows me how to style it. Everyone is always very friendly to me & I am pretty shocked at the other reviews on here. It almost seems like we go to two different salons.

Very friendly personnel, relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices. I personally had the Gentleman's manicure and pedicure and loved both; completely relaxed throughout the whole appointment and the results were fantastic! Will definitely be back and absolutely want to try a massage there!

I have gotten my hair for prom done here and my regular six week appointments done here for a while. I've been to other places before but no one does it right besides these guys! My hairdresser is Alex and she is wonderful!

Lastnight I damaged and wrecked my hair beyond anything. Today I called up Robert James salon and made an appt for this evening with Robert. Right away I knew not only had I picked the right salon but that I was in good hands with Robert. My hair was green and gray when I went in there and I had a botched home hair cut from the week before. I spent several hours at the salon and from the moment I walked through the door I was treated like a movie star like no one else mattered.

It took several treatments but by the time it was all said and done my hair looks amazing like a movie star. The color is perfect, the cut is perfect. I almost cried cause it came out better than I could of imagined with how bad it was when I got there. And everyone there was so nice and made me and my 13 yr old daughter feel so special. It was a little more than most salons but worth every penny.

I won't go anywhere else. I highly recommend that if your hair needs repairs then go here and ask for Robert cause he knows hair and he's a very warm person. I can't thank him enough and my husband loved it too. Right before we left he also let my daughter Shae pick a piece of jewelry out for free which made her week. Thanks Robert for everything, your the best and I mean that with all my heart and hair, lol.
