Good luck getting Loretta to schedule an appointment for you. After seeing the great 5 star online reviews I contacted them for a medical massage. Loretta's responses were curt and useless. Not a good sign of what the actual massage service would be like. l went somewhere else.

I arrived today 10 minutes early to fill out my paperwork and did what they had asked. I met with Craig and everything started off fine but throughout the whole process he seemed doubtful as if I wasn't approved for a massage through my chiropractor so I looked at my phone and continued to look for my statement from Darren at Evergreen Chiropractor and craig told me to "look at him" as if I wasn't paying attention to him.

He made me feel very uncomfortable after saying this and I wasn't about to spend a whole hour on a bed having him massage me you trippin bro. I ain't no kid I have 2 of my own. throughout the whole time of me being in LANZ Massage office he just seemed very Rushful and not really attentive to what I explained on paper about my pain. I explained to him I wasn't here to see a doctor and he seemed offended bc he continued to explain how all of his co workers are. I understand what he was trying to explain but again. No one will talk to me like I'm a kid. I have two of my own. Thank you.

I am compelled to share such a worthless experience I had with this unprofessional business. It's not that they are not nice, just borderline a sham. I have had hundreds of massages due to injuries and arthritis. I called, made an appointment with the owner for a medical massage prescription for my post hip replacement surgery. To start, I was surprised that she only takes insurance information via texting of a picture of the info. Ok, maybe that's for security? (Ha!) I got to my appointment- they did not have me down. 30 minutes later, the "Boss", as staff call her, remembered my call and would fit me in. Great. Interviewed with the massage.

I explained to the massage practitioner that the prescription was specifically for my left hip and the details of that were shared with him. After 40 minutes of the most worthless massage therapy with zero muscular manipulation, he NEVER TOUCHED MY HIP! When I shared my concern, they said it was just an "Assessment" massage. BS! They waived the copay as a concession and billed insurance for their services not rendered. A low level, low budget, low quality service business. Don't take a chance, they are not worth your efforts, time or money. So disappointed.

It's in a perfect location. The atmosphere is quiet Serene music. Both the manager in the staff are very helpful Luther Pleasant attitude that helps you to relax before you go in for your massage. And once you come out they have water and encourage you to drink a lot of water they always seem to have the time available. Their schedule is very flexible to meet your needs.

Not responsive to email and phones usually ring to a voicemail. Difficult to get a call back. Masseuse seemed rushed and massage actually exacerbated symptoms. I was out of the country for a few weeks and returned home to 3 invoices seemingly sent weekly, all with no due date. Very annoying. Would not recommend.

Was referred to Lanz Massage by my physical therapist as I suffer with incredibly tight neck and shoulder muscles, that cause headaches, decreased mobility and anxiety. I had approximately 10 sessions with Craig and he was wonderful - always very professional, sensitive and knowledgeable. The massage therapy really helped with the issues I was having.

I booked appointments directly with Loretta and she was always polite and professional - they do get quite busy which means unless you can schedule several appointments in a row, you may end up waiting a few weeks in-between. Overall, a very good experience for me personally.

Pros: Very close to my house on cap hill, friendly staff, love the message in the separate cottage. Cons: Cold beds, rooms in the separate cottage, if your looking a massage first thing in the morning on Saturdays. Advice: Cranking up the heat and being receptive to customers would be a great place to start, have not been I a while for this reason, male customer service friendly? You tell me? Moving on to another therapist

Great massage experience. Relaxing and cozy atmosphere that relieved stress. Hard to stay awake due to extreme relaxation though.

I scheduled with a female masseuse who was recommended by a friend. Lanz rescheduled this appointment, which was fine. When I showed up the following week for the new appointment, I was scheduled with a male masseuse. My experience with him was fine. I scheduled my second appointment with the female masseuse, but I was again paired with a different male masseuse. While they were both skilled and my experience was fine, I was frustrated that my requests were ignored. I will not be scheduling a third appointment.

I had a terrible experience that left me crying and bruised. I came in for a massage to treat shoulder pain and general soreness from carrying my heavy 8-month-old son. The therapist curtly explained his "style, " which he said was geared toward athletes in chronic pain and, he emphasized, would NOT be relaxing. It wasn't. He did not listen to my needs, did not adequately adjust his style or pressure and spent a bulk of the time mansplaining muscle adhesion.

He seemed almost intent on inflicting pain. After I expressed my dissatisfaction, he said he was working on me "as gently as [he] knew how." Throughout the session I found him to be condescending and unwilling to adapt. If Lanz insists on employing a massage therapist so rigid in his approach that he's not able to differentiate the needs of a professional athlete with level 7 pain and a tired new mom, they should ONLY pair him with clients that meet his exacting standards.

The receptionist was very kind and apologetic but the owner never called to follow up on my experience. It is quite disappointing, as I used to see Dawn, who helped me a great deal while I was pregnant, but she's no longer there. Overall, an upsetting experience that left me in more pain than I started with.

Lanz Massage has a quality product (depending on who is doing the massage) but the experience with regard to billing was a nightmare. Lanz failed to confirm my insurance details and as a result I was over charged. I was promised a quick fix and a refund - this was not quick and required multiple calls on my end to resolve the issue. This is disappointing as they had my historical information (my insurance plan has stayed the same for massage therapy for the last few years), yet could not honor the previous payment obligation.

I would have thought as someone who had done business previously my refund would have been taken care of immediately while Lanz did their necessary work in the background. Instead I was a messenger at the mercy of Lanz who was unable to confirm details from my insurance company. (And when I asked the insurance company, they had indicated they never received a call).

If this is your only option for service, then you may get a good massage depending on the person - but the business decisions made don't make sense and can cause quite a headache which compliments the already existing back pain.

So I'm enjoying massages from Foley and Virginia. Foley doesn't work every Saturday so it's tough to get something with her.

I've been seeing Julene Coblentz for a while now, and let me tell you, she has changed my preconceptions about what massage therapists are capable of.her ability to understand and manipulate muscles is truly amazing. I don't even have to tell her what's going on - she is somehow able to immediately find every tough spot on my body and make them vanish with no pain or residual soreness.

I don't know her background, but it's clear she has an astonishing natural gift for massage, likely combined with years of training. I found her through Group Health, and I am so lucky I did!

Lanz was recommended to me by my doctor after a car accident. After just one session with Virginia, my pain was significantly reduced (after a month of experiencing back pain daily). She's just wonderful and truly understands the body! I felt completely at ease and look forward to continuing these sessions until I am pain-free.

I got into a car accident last July that caused me to have migraines that would last for days. I started going to Lanz shortly after and they helped me so much. I did weekly massages for 8 weeks and I haven't had a migraine since. Mark and Tim are amazing. Thanks guys!

Kaylan has miracle hands! Great location, easy to get to, and for a busy place on Capitol Hill it has surprisingly good parking too. Lovely place, very cozy, and professional. Best medical massage I've had. Definitely recommend this place!

I have been going to Lanz Massage for almost a year due pain from a severe car accident. Everyone there is very friendly and Loretta Lanz their owner is very experienced in handling auto PIP claims. My favorite massage therapists are Tim and Mark who both have helped me a lot to relieve my pain and assist me with my recovery. Parking can be tricky to find since it is street parking in a residential area so it kind of depends on what time of day you go if there are open places. They are open in the evenings and Saturday so that is helpful for those of us who have to go after work.

I can only take so much sitting, typing, typing and sitting. I know, waaaaa, poor me, I have a job that requires me to type while others dig ditches or, in this economy, don't even have work. Okay, I hear ya, but it still hurts, so now what? Head over to Lanz that's what. What's so great is that it's not commercial-ly at all, as it's located in a home.

That doesn't mean it's not professional, on the contrary, I've had several different therapists, and every experience has been nothing less than "I can't wait to come back." That's how good it is. That aside, the setting itself is so relaxing. From the homey atmosphere right down to the scents, by the time I get out of here I feel like a wet noodle, uber relaxed and ready to take on anything.

I created a Yelp account just so I could give this place a rave review! One appointment with therapist, Dawn, and I was floating for a day. She really, truly knows her stuff. I got a referral for a relatively serious sports injury that hasn't been healing well and she pretty much figured out what was going on within several minutes of careful palpation and manipulation. Additionally, I have a few chronic hip/pelvis issues and she worked with those so well that my gait was much improved almost immediately (thus the floating)!

I have seen dozens of massage therapists in the last 4-5 years and she is by far one of the most intuitive I've met yet. I still have 9 more appointments to go so I suppose my opinion could change, but I have considerable experience with massage therapists and she is one of the best I've seen in the last 10 years!

I found Lanz Massage through the Group Health provider directory. I needed someone to do therapeutic massage on my upper back and arms for a repetitive stress injury (too much typing and mousing!). Dan at Lanz Massage has been just the right massage therapist for me! He's great at treating my arms and related upper body areas, and I've noticed significant improvement as a result. He's also very consistent from visit to visit, which is not always the case with massage therapists I've been to in the past.

While I'm going to treat injury, it's also a very relaxing experience. It's a comfortable environment in the basement of the owner's home (completely separate entrance so it's not awkward). They accept insurance and L&I.

I work up on Capitol Hill, and this place was highly recommended to me by a friend. Okay first of all, it is the most beautiful place to get a massage, complete with Aromatherapy. It is in the lower level of a house and everything is gorgeous. They pay attention to detail. And most importantly, you will get a wonderful massage here. I had 3 different people here and they were all excellent. A most wonderful experience.

I found this location through my Health Care Provider (GHC) to help treat my back pain. The owner was very helpful in setting me up with one of her therapists (Rebecca Mulligan) who fit my schedule. Located on Capitol Hill I was worried about parking but I have always been able to park close to the studio just off of 12th without a hassle. The service has been great, they work with my health care and other providers and its a very comfortable location.

They offer a wide range of massage therapy options and will work with you to get you with someone who is a good fit for your needs. All three have worked there for quite some time and know what they are doing. If you have sports injuries like I do or your just looking to relax then I suggest contacting them through phone or web and setting up an appointment. The prices are right there with other therapists and a comfortable setting is a big plus in my book.
