Soft tissue therapy is designed to help people who have sustained injury to their muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues. Injuries that respond well to soft tissue therapy include whiplash; repetitive use syndromes, like carpal tunnel syndrome; low-back pain, tendinitis, ankle sprains, and pulled muscles.
Enable your clients and patients to get back in the game and live pain free after injury. In Sports Massage for Injury Care, experienced sports therapist Bob McAtee explains the types of soft tissue injury most common in sport and explains why manual therapy is so valuable in treating musculoskeletal injuries.
Facilitated Stretching, Fourth Edition With Online Video, remains the most trusted resource for proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching, an effective and easy-to-use method that involves stretching the muscle, contracting it isometrically against resistance, and then stretching it again to increase range of motion.
Although facilitated stretching is an easy technique to learn, there are important, if subtle, factors to understand and master. In this section, we describe an easy-to-remember three-step stretching protocol, then discuss critical elements of the technique that must be applied to achieve optimum results.

I have had a recurring back problem due to an on the job injury for the last thirty years. I am a professional aviator for a major airline, and sitting for several hours at a time contributes to the ailment. I have tried several different remedies over the years, and finally have found someone who understands and can help. Bob is an outstanding massage therapist, and comes highly recommended to anyone that needs therapeutic massage therapy.
I have been a client for the past year, and plan to be for the forseeable future. Professional personal service for a very reasonable price. I recommend him to all my friends and family.

I would recommend Bob McAtee to any family member or friend. I am a recreational runner who is recovering from an injury. Bob was accommodating to my work schedule for my first appointment, and thereafter has made appointments at the most effective times during my exercise schedule. A great attribute is his ability to scaffold questions to determine the cause, which aspects of his treatment produced improvements, and best course of action. Bob was able to identify the muscle imbalance causing my pain- something a "sports medicine" doctor and physical therapist could not conclude.
He has provided new stretches specific to further prevent my injury and facilitate recovery. Our conversations are engaging because he understands my athletic personality. Bob is professional through is actions, attitudes, and office space. He put forth extra effort to make a follow-up call to see how I was progressing after the first appointment.
