Excellent historic Hotel in Nob hill. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, fantastic staff, and a great bar. If you can get a North facing room, you'll be treated to a fantastic view.

By far, the most unique hotel we've ever stayed at. We've been at two different suites at this hotel (see the beautiful photos please), and both times we've been so extremely pleased. Service is excellent and the rooms are just so incredibly unique. They remind me of Dita Von Teese's house big time. So gorgeous and one of a kind! Love the area here and just the whole vibe of the neighborhood. Of course it's pricey but the experience is amazing and so worth it.

Built in 1922 on posh Nob Hill. Colin Huntington was one of the Big Four railroad barons

Wonderful hotel on top of Nob Hill. This classic head turner has a touch of modern chic with classic old world charm. The check in experience was great with a nice doorman and valet. Two elevators whisked me to the 9th floor where a big room was awaiting. Very clean and good views of SF. The bed was medium form and comfortable. I think the hotel was condos at one point so I enjoyed the large closets and bathrooms.

The cable car was right outside and I enjoyed walking across the street to Huntington Park. Finally, the bar is a classic Nob Hill swanky but approachable cocktail and restaurant. Great old pictures of San Francisco past.

I couldn't have been happier. I like a little luxury when I travel (either for fun or work- this time it was for work) and the Huntington did not disappoint. Rooms are super spacious and king size bed was comfy with the softest sheets. Stunning decor. When I complained about hearing traffic in the middle of the night on the first night of my stay, I was moved to a higher floor and a larger room at no extra cost. Staff are friendly and warm, and even gave me tips on the best times to go and see the sea-lions! Overall a fantastic experience and I hope to stay here again.

I just returned from my stay at the Huntington Hotel. This is BY FAR my favorite hotel in the city. Our suite was beautiful, the views incredible but the service at this hotel is truly out of this world. From the valet to the front desk to the bell man, everyone was so genuinely friendly and made us feel completely spoiled. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back!

Absolutely gorgeous old historic hotel right atop Nob Hill. The location is lovely, right across from Nob Hill Park and offering wonderful views of pretty much the whole city. We spent two nights here for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. Service is top-notch, extremely prompt and courteous but not obtrusive at all. While everything is far from affordable the value really isn't bad at all for what you're getting, which is a four and a half star experience.

We also used the spa during our stay which was an unbelievable experience. The facility is absolutely gorgeous and our "aroma-soul experience" massage was life-affirming. We will definitely be returning to that spa as soon as we can save up for it, hopefully for the 1 year anniversary!

I loved staying at this vintage hotel in the middle of Nob Hill. During my visit I walked 5-10 blocks in each direction both uphill and downhill and enjoyed amazing food, shopping, a beautiful park a breakfast cafe, a Trader Joe's and more. There is a restaurant on-site and it's great but the prices are very high and I found excellent options within walkable distance from the hotel that were even better.

I walked to Trader Joe's and walked in the opposite direction and both uphill and downhill to a breakfast cafe with good prices. The hotel was beautiful. The lobby was photo-worthy. There's a spa here and spa retail store with pretty items to buy for yourself or as gifts. The staff members were very helpful and professional. My room was spacious and the hotel was very clean.

Loved the location on the park next to Grace Cathedral, as well as the historical nature of the hotel. The bar is just beautiful, and the staff was kind and helpful everywhere. The only negatives are in regards to the pool: it is not actually included for hotel guests -- it is an extra $40/day, and not available at all on weekends unless you book spa services over a certain price. Plus, there is no lap swimming allowed, which was a major disappointment. Otherwise, the stay was delightful and would have been five stars.

Lovely classic hotel with old world charm centrally located in Nob Hill. The one bedroom suite was massive and the views were spectacular. The staff was terrific and very accommodating. We stopped into the Big Four Bar on our way out for the evening and it was like stepping back into time with a piano player and rich ornate dark wood surroundings.

Taking off a star because the housekeeper went around to all the doors and opened it without us even answering the door to give 2 bottles of plastic water. Goodness me, if we were thirsty we'd find a way to find water. Woke us up from a much-needed nap and it was so unnecessary. Why is this a hotel policy for the cleaning staff to disturb their guests.

There is nothing more annoying than trying to get a hotel to get some distance and some relaxation time to be woken up. Taking off another star because the gym was under construction and the staff only made us aware of this when I inquired about the gym. Their solution was to go to the next door sister hotel and use their facilities. This may seem like a good solution but it would have been proper to alert their guests of the difference. Felt like the information was sprung upon us at the front desk.

Where do I start. From the moment you arrive the wonderful, helpful, and ever so friendly staff make you feel that they care about your stay. Recently, 12/4-6/2019, was our second time staying at the Huntington. Our first time was November 2018. With so many people that stay here they all remembered us a year later - WOW. My local grocer doesn't rememberer me and I've been going there for 30 years LOL.

I believe that's what makes The Huntington so special - the staff cares! The food in the restaurant is delicious, the Spa areas so clean and relaxing, and the quality throughout the entire Huntington Hotel is consistently maintained to the highest standards. It's wonderful, clean, well maintained, and forever our new go to place while in the San Francisco Area. Which reminds me of another plus it's location is central to all the best places in San Francisco. We'll see you all again for our 2020 Wedding Anniversary.

One of my favorite hotels to stay at. Originally decorated to bring out a Singapore feel- it's since been sold a couple times. However the quality of service is top notch. It has a full service spa/ high end restaurant and offers a 2 room suite. Only thing is they have higher the rates since the last turn over service dogs are welcome.

Unexpectedly nice! Large rooms, cool old school decor, neat piano bar. On the cable car line so while at the top of the hill, Easy access to the financial district. Lost a star because they wouldn't let me check in early even though they had a room. They tried to charge an arm and a leg to upgrade me.

Service by the staff was outstanding. Upgraded our room to a 1bed suite and it was gorgeous. Well appointed and spacious. A definite must for getaways with the wife. The food quality from room service at The Big 4 was amazing can't wait to go back.

This hotel saved the day! We stayed at a different hotel our first of five nights in SF and it was terrible. My husband ended up cancelling through Hotwire - which btw you can do if your hotel is that bad and ours was! Anyway - we booked Huntington through Hotwire at like 8 AM and I went over there at 9 AM. They let me check in right away even though check in wasn't until 3 PM!

They also upgraded me to an executive suite for free. WHAT! The bell man took all my luggage up to my room for me. The room was soooo nice. Very clean, spacious, overlooking the park. The amenities were great as well and we loved the bar downstairs. Everyone at this hotel was so nice and the location was simply amazing. I hope to stay here again one day!

Excellent hotel, great location, great staff, and most importantly awesome house keeping services! My check in process was fast and smooth. I'm an Expedia VIP access member so I got a free upgrade to a suite and boy was it worth it! Let me tell you VIEWS! The views were amazing and gorgeous. The bed comfort level was ok. it was too firm for my comfort.

The first night housekeeping didn't make it to our room but they refilled our towels to our needs. I just didn't like that they kept the windows opened in the restroom. I kept closing them and they kept opening them back up which was annoying. Other than that. they kept our room spotless. The hotel's design and decor was very fun! Enjoyed our views and our stay.

Sometimes I wish I could live here. Everyone is so friendly! The package I purchased through Amex Platinum makes me think the Platinum card could be a good investment. I even had a limo driver pick me up at the airport and help carry my baggage. I also received an outstanding breakfast, up to $60.00 value per day, an extra night, plus free spa visit during the week, and a room upgrade.

I received my update and was on the top floor. I like the bathtub. It is an old deep one. I had three large windows, and a vast room, and all the French soaps, toiletries, and even a jar of things like a sewing kit. Plus I received a robe and slippers! I met the maid who was very helpful and friendly. The cleaning is impeccable. I want to note the elevator is very fast.

If it is not one of the creaky old ones though it is beautiful with soft music I heard during my trip. The breakfast is phenomenal. I had the Eggs Huntington which is eggs benedict instead of ham there is smoked salmon. I had the hollandaise on the side and used as much as I needed. I also had the Cappuccino which can be ordered to go and the berry smoothie.

The restaurant is beautiful. What concerned me was that the windows needed cleaning, which did impede my view of the lovely park across the street and the magnificent view, which was a shame.

Checked into the hotel on July 12th, 2019 and around 8:45PM, and found the bathroom not properly cleaned. Reported blood stain on the toilet to the Front Desk and sent house keeping to remediate the issue. David came by and presented me shampoo and conditioner and not understanding the initial issue reported. Called back Front Desk and they apologized for the miscommunication. David came back and cleaned the blood stain off the toilet. Needless to say, I will never stay at this hotel again.

Spent the weekend at this amazing hotel! It's a beautiful, classic building. Rooms are well done, comfortable, big, and have great views thanks to the hotel's vantage point on the top of Nob Hill. The restaurant on site is great. Staff are wonderful. The location is great and very central to many sights in San Francisco. I'll definitely be back!

An old and classic hotel, located on the exclusive Nob hill zone (Interesting shops and restaurants). The rooms are wide and spacious, the views are great (the highest floor, the best views). The staff are professional, nice, helpful in general. They gave us always good tips to visit places or get nice restaurants or places to brunch. The valet parking is effective, but expensive ($59 per night), but when we stayed they had a "taxi service" (to be previously booked) to drive you to the recommended places, giving just a tip to the driver. If you don't care so much about the price, this is a really good option to stay in San Francisco.

Fantastic hotel. Would highly recommend if visiting SF. Special thanks must go to Ryan and Flora who did a superb job in making the stay particularly memorable. Excellent service. Rooms were large, clean and come with L'Occitane products. Free WiFi, two free bottles of water available in the room as well as an in room safe. Although I didn't have time to visit the spa it looked amazing and I look forward to checking it out on my next visit! Great for business and/or pleasure. Parking garage conveniently located right next to the property should you wish to self park.

I just want to say they have a good management team here. I had a nonrefundable reservation, but had to cancel. Spoke to Gary several times, he returned my calls and emails in regarding my cancelation. It was a two day process but it was done. Gary was helpful, and both him and the GM Ryan were accommodating. I appreciate their management's customer service.

If you're looking for a beautiful and nicely updated older hotel, this is your place. The Huntington is high class in every aspect. We splurged a little for a suite and were very impressed by the sheer size of the room. I like having a separate bedroom from the living room. The living room was so huge I could have done cartwheels in it (for the record, I did not).

Super comfortable bed with high end linens. My only complaint, and this is by no means the fault of the hotel. two guys fighting in their room above us woke us at 4 in the morning. It went on a little while. So yes, the walls might be a wee-bit thin. As for the location, it is perched at the top of Nob Hill. We used Uber/Lyft to go up and walked down on our own.

The hill is very, very steep and I got shin splints. There are a few other hotels nearby, notably the Fairmont. The Grace Cathedral is kitty corner to the hotel and we had the BEST view from our room. There is also a park directly across the street. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Classy place with gracious hosts.

Victorian hotel with golden details that is adorned. It's hard to come these days because it's high maintenance to retain the delicate and intricate features. Nice neighborhood of Nob Hill along the cable car and uphill with a quaint park.

I was looking at a place to stay over night in San Francisco. We had stayed here many years ago and I decided to make reservations. This is in the Nob Hill area very close to Intercontinental, Mark Hopkins and the Fairmount. It is an older hotel. The reception was able to get us in earlier than the 3pm check in time which helped us. The room was a superior room with a beautiful view of the city( I specifically requested a room on the upper floors).

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They have free wifi, flat screen tv, refrigerator and keurig machine for coffee or tea. Their restaurant is called The Big 4. Very comfortable stay at this hotel.

This was probably the best experience staying at a hotel ever. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate myself and our group. I got married while staying there and everyone from the front desk, front door, bell service, etc were so friendly and amazing! Ate at The Big 4 downstairs and also had a wonderful evening. Decor of the rooms are definitely eclectic but super clean and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone staying in the city.

Picked via hotwire and it was a very pleasant stay. Our room was huge and looked over the church across the street. Room was very nice and bed was very comfy. Customer service was top notch and the door guys were great. It was a nice central location and close to many bars and also near china town. I had gone downstairs to order breakfast to go and the lady had told me I couldn't.

So then I went to the front desk and asked if it was possible to do somehow since I was in a hurry and they got me in touch with the restaurant manager right away. They apologized and told me I could order anything to go and charge it to my room which was perfect. I felt very safe here. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was picked via Hot Wire. It was a pleasant stay. The hotel is an older building. My only complaint is that the room was extremely hot. No AC in the rooms. The staff was very friendly, the business center was free, pool, hot tub and fitness room. In walking distance to popular areas of town. The hotel acts real proper. The big 4 restaurant prices for food is outrageous. I recommend better price places within walking distance. We traveled here in June 2015. They call the hill "Snob Hill" that we stayed on. Nice area. :

This was our very first time staying on this side of San Francisco, whereas, we typically stay in the Embarcadero. First things first, I came here for work and received a reduced rate, which was good for the price, location and size of room. In fact, we arrived extremely early prior to check-in and had to wait a few hours. However, the hotel was sold out previously and the moment a room was available, the host came to us and apologized while mentioning our room was upgraded to a suite!

The suite is extremely spacious and decorated well. I especially was fond of the mini living room area. The bed was also extremely comfortable and restroom was huge. I am bummed we only stayed one night and would recommend that you look into staying here. It is not too far from the Westfield Mall off of Market and it is nearby a beautiful park as well as cathedral. The hotel staff here is extremely kind and welcoming. My wife truly loved this place and we look forward to returning soon.

My first visit to this lovely hotel yesterday and I had quite a comfortable stay. The lobby is quite inviting with their long red couch. The decor is well appointed with such regal colors. The Concierge and Front Desk Staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable. We were in a room that adjoined another room with Friends and I got to see a one with two double beds and one king bed.

One suggestion I could make would be for the double bed room to have a table for a lady to fix her hair and put makeup on. Bathrooms had all the necessities for one's stay. The views are great since you are on top of the hill. I did not get to see the pool area but Friends said it was quite good. One hotel we will return to.

Simply stated, I loved it. It's class, elegant, a bit swank yet classic, and romantic. 4 nights recently on a business trip, would have loved to have someone special (my gf, in my case), to share it with. At the top of Nob Hill, cable cars come by, Grace Cathedral, Huntington Park (with lots of doggies) -- what an iconic location. What I like, there's no riff raff -- it's definitely an upscale area.

Will I be back? Hell yes with bells on. It's what I like, a boutique hotel and not a monstrosity. Memorable: ========= 1. The bedroom: mirrored furniture, leather bed, purple velvet chair, with large desk and outstanding views. 2. Closet: 2 high-quality robes, 2 slippers, an umbrella, a large shoe horn, a lint brush. 3. The lobby: mix red velvet and Bengal tiger fabrics and you got yourself the Scarlet Huntington. Borderline gaudy, but very different -- that's for sure! 4. Big 4 Restaurant: Didn't dine at the restaurant, but it's classic, old-style, and beautifully decorated with a piano bar. Loved it, and will return.

I would like to give this place a 4.5 rating, but Yelp does not give me that privilege. It is not a 5, but came close. The staff, with one exception, was exceptional. The one who was not was a waiter who was almost patronizing in his presentation. With that exception, the staff at the desk, the staff at the door, the servers in the bar, the servers who handled cleaning the rooms and room service and the piano players were all friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.

They made us feel very welcome. Our room was spacious; we did not order a suite. It was clean and did not smell of chemicals. The bed was comfortable. The windows open to let in fresh air. We had a commanding view across the city on top of Nob Hill. There are convenient plug-ins for anything electronic. There is a desk and a separate chair for reading.

The hotel has a good restaurant called the Big 4, after the four men who ran the Central Pacific Railway. It also has a wonderful portrait of Walter Pidgeon. The restaurant/bar is filled with beautiful wood paneling, like an old club. Everyone is invited to this one. They cooked the breakfast well. The drinks were good. The piano player was friendly and played music wwe enjoyed and requested. Although a bit more than we might usually pay to stay in San Francisco, it was well worth the price. I expect we will stay here again on our next visit.
